Anser was always out on patrol. Her grades suffered for it, but she was pretty sure she, in general, hadn't. She had gone out with Viatrix recently, and Viatrix had noticed that she was ready for more power. Her skirt was now longer and more fluffy, she had the telltale wings of an eternal senshi, and she finally felt like she was in the form she was always meant to be in. A form in which she could do the most damage, could drive out the most Chaos, could actually protect everyone to the best of her ability in a way that even her basic and super forms couldn't do-- Maybe she could stop someone like Cybele from being stolen from the Negaverse ever again. Anser swallowed. She wanted to believe that. Feeling the Negaverse aura suddenly flare to life near her attracted her attention, and this patrol suddenly had its purpose. Shoo off the captain. Easy. She ran off in that direction, skidding to a stop when she was practically on top of him. Her smile was everything but friendly as she balled up her fist and suggested, lowly, "Maybe you should go back to where you came from."

Thank god. Gismondine appeared and was hopefully far away from that raging…monster of a senshi…He was trembling, shaking like a leaf, like he had been suffering from a bad sickness and had just tried to walk a mile but…
But there was no damage to his hands…and now that the magic was gone, the pain was simply echos of what it had been.
…He wasn’t dead. And that…that was a pretty good thing to not be!
Far too late, he felt the oppressive aura of a senshi who was stronger than he was, and when Gismondine had the presence of mind to look up, face pale and sweating, he saw that she looked ready to kill him, and dread filled him to his very soul.
He looked afraid, unwilling to move, almost unable to move and finally, it seemed like his mouth was on a whole other playing field. “...I would r-rather not. There’s a very angry senshi back there and…I don’t…r-really want to burn up again…I…I don’t suppose you…you would be able to um. Donate some energy so I have some for my…my quota?”
He wasn’t sure why he asked, and wasn’t sure why he wasn’t getting up, putting up his own fists to push hers away, but…he couldn’t move right now…and maybe she wouldn’t hit him.
And maybe Xander would be waiting back home for him tonight.
Such things were pipe dreams.
Utterly impossible.

It looked like he was already about to s**t himself. Good. That made this easier. Perhaps it was because he had just come from another battle -- Anser had noted the mention of a very angry senshi -- or perhaps it was how sheerly oppressive her aura must have been, now. She remembered the way generals and eternals had felt to her when she was super. Not intolerable, no, but strong and an undeniable force, of which she was finally one herself-- "Did you do something to make them angry?" The captain was beginning to put up his fists to defend himself, and had the audacity to ask if she'd be willing to donate energy to the cause of the ******** Negaverse. Anser growled at the concept, pushing hard to make sure he stayed away from her and stayed on the ground. "Why the ********> would I donate energy to your cause? Chaos is a plague on this universe."
Anser looked ready to strike again.
"What, is the alternative you drain someone random? Because I think the alt should be nothing at all."

Gismondine shut his eyes as he was pushed backwards, wincing as he struck the back of his head against something hard, and sat up, rubbing it and trying to blink away sudden tears. “I didn’t t-try to! I asked…asked for energy as I’m doing to you, but…no. I guess the alternative is that…I just don’t…don’t get any today and figure it out tomorrow but…I…” He swallowed, drawing back a few inches, trying to get distance between them with as little effort as possible. Now there was physical pain that came with the memory of the fire…and none of it was great.
“I…I f-feel that if I’m…going to b-borrow energy, both parties involved should…be aware it…” He swallowed. “It’s no good to…to just take from people and…and I do have snacks…I…if that would make you feel better. I have mochi and some water so…so you can gain the energy back q-quickly…”
The Captain hesitated, and then drew the small box that had twelve red bean mochi inside of it. It was unopened, but. Truthfully, he wished that he could have one now. He needed something sweet to bring his energy up again.

Figure it out tomorrow was always the trick, wasn't it? She said the alternative should be nothing, and she was serious when she said that. The Negaverse took and took and took and nothing it did was truly for the benefit of Earth. Not when it turned civilians into youma. Not when it stole memories and energy and lives. The captain seemed determined to get some distance between them, but Anser was a brawler. Now that he had perhaps gotten the message that she wasn't going to welcome him taking any energy from her, she balled up her fists and advanced again. "No, you're right. It's no good to just take from people." Anser, admittedly, wanted one of those red bean mochi. She did like mochi, and if it hadn't been an agent of the Negaverse handing those to her--to be honest, she couldn't trust that the snack wouldn't somehow drain her anyway--she might have gone ahead and taken it. "Giving them snacks while you take from them doesn't make up for the fact that you take from them in the first place. "So stop taking from people." That was the only warning he got before she swung again, and to be honest, it was hardly a warning at all.

Gismondine tensed and tried to make himself smaller as she swung at him, and as her fist collided with the side of his head, he let out a cry of pain…and he was doing that way too much today. His throat was already hurting from the last screaming he had done and now this…and…
And without thinking, Gismondine threw the box of mochi at the senshi, trembling. “I don’t…I…” God. He wasn’t trying to take. He was asking. He had asked. He hadn’t taken. But they had attacked. They were the ones in the wrong and…
Oh god.
He really, really hated senshi…
No. He was terrified of senshi.
With a half broken sob, he gathered what strength he could and teleported away once more, hoping to find somewhere to lick his wounds so that he could go home and pretend none of this had happened.
…At least the night couldn’t get any worse!

He was sobbing yet more, and excuses were stumbling out of his mouth, and she was hoping that maybe he'd just get the hint and go before she had to beat him harder before he threw the mochi right at her face. She flinched back in surprise, swatting at the box to make sure it got out of her way. It bounced to the side, and she shook out the sensation and the pain she'd probably feel later as she prepared herself to "warn" him, once more, that he needed to go. But she didn't need to. He left on his own, the alleyway feeling now empty and silent without the weaker aura and the sounds of sobs. Huh. After waiting a few moments to make sure he wasn't going to return with a general she also needed to kick the a** of, she walked over to where the box of mochi had bounced to, picking it up. On one hand, she couldn't guarantee these were just normal mochi. On the other hand, if she took these back to her apartment and ate them there, not only would she be able to go to bed if they were weird energy-draining mochi, but he also wouldn't be able to get the box back. Win/win, maybe? If these were energy-draining mochi, though, where did the energy go? Could he only gather it if he was right there, or was there some other weird extradimensional bullshit angle-- Taking one last glance at where the agent last was, she gathered the mochi, popped it into her subspace pocket, and continued on her patrol.
