Andreiya had been harassed by Senshi and Agents alike, and he didn't really have a fond opinion of humans in general even before he’d been attacked.

But, tonight had been different. Tonight, he’d cried, and he felt so foolish.

She’d snuck up on him. Attacked him. Came out of nowhere, pinned him to the ground. Used magic that he didn’t understand beyond how miserable it had made him. She’d slapped him, she’d punched him, she’d kicked him, she’d spit on him.

At first, he thought he might just go to his room. He’d cried the whole way there and felt pathetic and weak for it. It was unbecoming of a Corporal and no doubt, Lyndin would be ashamed of him. He deserved it. He thought he might go home and take a shower, but he was hurting so much before he’d even got home that he was feeling a bit frantic about it. He had a Source Stone but he wasn’t the best at using it, and he didn’t want to waste any of the energy that he’d been gathering.

…There were few people he trusted with healing, and even fewer that he felt he could lower his guard around.

He’d shuffled through the house, wiping at his eyes quickly as he made his way to Aliez’s room. It was a good thing he wasn’t really thinking about it–if he had been, he might have convinced himself to just go hide in his room until he healed up.

He wound up at Aliez’s door and knocked quietly, as if he was afraid of anyone actually hearing. If Aliez didn’t answer, he could just go to his room and hide. He could give up, because then at least he’d tried!

…But, to be honest, he wasn’t even sure if he wanted to be alone right now. He wasn’t sure of a lot of things. He just wanted to stop hurting.

Vyn was out that evening. Something about early preparations and ordering necessary flowers for a holiday coming up in the next month. So when Aliez heard the knock on the door, he assumed it might have been someone looking for Vyn. Maybe to spar with him, since he was the superior one when it came to combat (at least between Vyn and himself), or maybe asking for some flower arrangements.

So when it was Andreiya, Aliez was a little surprised. He didn’t have a chance to say hello when he noticed how distressed his friend looked.

Without giving him a chance to run away, Aliez gently took hold of Andreiya’s wrist and pulled him into his room.

There were bunk beds and a couple desks. The larger bunk was on the bottom, and was probably obviously Vyn’s, but Aliez didn’t mind the smaller bunk up top. It gave him a good view out of the window.

“Are you okay?” was the first thing he asked when he closed the door behind them, looking Andreiya over to try and assess what happened.

Andreiya let himself be pulled in, and worked very hard not to sniffle. Very hard to keep his emotions in check. He didn’t want to be seen as weak, didn’t want anyone to think he was undeserving of Lyndin’s trust.

“Yes. No. Both. Neither.”

His voice was uneven and he sniffled–a wet, pathetic sound and he hated that it came from him. He wiped at his eyes with his free hand.

“I got into a fight. I don’t think I won. I was surprised. She came out of nowhere and she was so mean. I froze. It was totally unprofessional. Please don’t tell the Commodore. Or anyone.”

Well, anyone but Vyn, he sort of assumed that they just shared everything, but he was still glad that it was just Aliez for now.

Hearing that Andreiya got into a fight was immediately concerning. He doubted that Andreiya would have done anything to provoke someone else, so it was definitely the other’s fault.

Gently still, he tugged on Andreiya’s hand to lead him over to the edge of Vyn’s bed. It would be more comfortable than a desk chair at least.

“Sit. Breathe,” he said as he held up his own Source Stone to gently hover over each of Andreiya’s limbs so he could better assess the damage.

“I will not tell anyone, unless your life is threatened, but I think you would be in worse shape if that were the case.” He didn’t want to lie to Andreiya. He certainly would have told the Commodore if he was so injured that he needed additional medical assistance, but Aliez was confident enough in his own skills that he thought he could handle some bruises.

“What happened? Other than her being mean and hurting you? Who was it?”

Andreiya didn’t really care where he sat–he’d have taken the floor without complaint. It was difficult to keep a straight face because his eyes kept wanting to water and his lip kept wanting to tremble but that wasn’t very brave and he really didn’t want to look weak or emotional in front of Aliez.

The injury itself hadn’t been so bad. His pride was hurt worse than anything else.

“A Senshi. She had green hair. I just don’t know what I did wrong. I didn't even think we were enemies. She was wild and furious.”

He drew in a breath to try and calm himself and wouldn’t meet Aliez’s eyes as he scanned him.

“I have been trying very hard to be nice and accommodating to everyone, even if I disagree with them. I did not come here to make enemies. I just want to help Velencya. I cannot understand why they dislike us so much! Is it bad? Can you heal it tonight?” he asked, trying very hard not to sound too pathetic about all of it.

“I do not like the people of Earth,” Aliez mumbled quietly, mostly to himself. They hurt his friends. They fought with each other. They didn’t seem to care that they had their own people sleeping on the street. They didn’t care for the creatures that lived there.

“It should heal tonight, as long as you take some time to rest,” Aliez promised after using a decent amount of his own Source Stone’s energy to help heal the injury.

And then when he was convinced that it would be okay with just some time and rest, Aliez reached over to Andreiya to wrap his arms around his shoulders and hug him. He knew that Andrieya liked to be tough and strong, but they were all in a strange world and scared and at risk of losing their whole world if they couldn’t figure out a way to help it.

“I am glad you were not injured worse. You are very dear to me, Andreiya.”

Andreiya sucked in a breath and sighed heavily, though he did his best to stay still and give Aliez the time to examine and tend to his injury. He still didn’t want to look at him and he was trying very hard not to show any weakness, especially when Aliez was close enough to see.

Andreiya’s pride had been damaged and he was struggling very hard to hold it together. Even if it was just Aliez here right now.

Aliez, who was hugging him, and making it much easier to hide how warm and wet his eyes felt.

“I will take time to rest, I want it to heal quickly. I appreciate your care. And discretion.”

He didn’t immediately return the hug, because he was stubborn, and he did like to be tough and strong–or at least try to be–but it didn’t take long before his arms snaked their way around Aliez, too. Quieter than before, he mumbled, “You are very dear to me, too. Thank you.”

Aliez smiled softly when Andreiya eventually wrapped his arms around him in return. He didn’t respond to Andreiya’s mumbled comment or thanks, but he did give him a little squeeze to make sure Andreiya knew he heard him. And appreciated him.

He was determined to do anything it took to make sure his fellow Velencians stayed healthy and safe. He would have to find a way to become stronger as well, because he didn’t want to stand around while they were getting hurt. And if something happened to him, he didn’t want the others worrying about what they would have to do for medical care.

So he would just have to get stronger. For everyone.
