Bhaskara was hunting around he was looking for work and looking for a place to live, he had mostly been on his own with little help from adult pae when he was younger. He didn't really feel like he needed the help, he didn't really remember his mother and he had never met his father. Then again he was a mini so maybe he had never had parents to begin with and just came from somewhere else. It didn't really matter right? He had more pressing matters to deal with like putting food in his rumbling tummy. His tummy grumbled loudly as he moved along.

Althae was enjoying a leisurely stroll on her return trip from Sparks Hollow, where she'd spent the last several seasons learning about fae culture and language. Despite the more-than-occasional weird look by the village residents, she'd thoroughly enjoyed herself and came out with a solid grasp of the language - something she hoped would assist in her dream of building up and working within Zamarad's archives.
If only she'd been able to bring some of it... any of it.. back with her.
She'd mostly taken her trip in the back of a merchant's cart, but upon reaching that last leg, had decided to go on tail instead. There was something nice about taking the time to move over the bridge and enjoy the sun and wing and grasses on her own time. She paused as she reached the midpoint of the bridge, the outline of her homevillage coming into view. She was almost back!

Bhaskara arrived on the bridge where he saw the much larger naga. He was just a little guy so he really wasn't sure how she would react to him since he really didn't know the naga culture at all. He stood there kinda frozen unsure what to do. It seemed to be a theme with him lately not knowing what he wanted to do or where he should actually go. He really needed to get his head on straight. He figured he would greet her and if she tried to eat him he could just jump off the bridge and make a break for it. "Hi." He said trying to make his tone as confident as he could.

Althae hadn't noticed the much smaller, naga-esque pae slithering her way, not until he actually approached and spoke up. "Hmm..." She glanced to her side and tilted her head, curious about where she'd heard a voice from. Then she looked behind her, and only when looking down after that did she see the male. Oh, how cute! What a little guy - was this his first time running an errand for his parents? Absolutely precious. She remembered her first time doing so fondly.
With a tone that did little to betray that she thought he was a child, she crouched a little to get closer to eye height. "Why hello there~"

Bhaskara blinked at her he was a little loss as to what to say next.. "Well ok, then I guess I'll.." Well he didn't really know what he meant to say but he needed to find a job and a home so he had a lot of stuff he needed to do. He started to moved off forward across the bridge, not that he knew where he was actually going.

Althae straightened back up as the little guy continued on his way - she hoped she hadn't frightened him. How convenient though that it seemed he was heading in the same direction. After shifting her backpack to a more comfortable position on her shoulders, she continued on the path to Zamarad and quickly caught back up with him (being significantly larger had that sort of effect).
"What's sent you over here?"

Bhaskara looked back at her confused "What do you mean who sent me? No one sent me. I'm traveling looking for a home and work." He shrugged his shoulders. He wasn't sure what her deal was.

Well, Althae certainly hadn't been expecting that sort of an aggressive response from a simple question, especially after mishearing it - poor thing must have been stressed and lashing out. She'd seen similar behavior enough times from her nieces and nephews while they were growing up. Still though... to send one so young to fend for themselves... Other villages could be quite cruel. Especially to another naga like her. She'd have to speak with patience and make sure to properly enunciate.
"Do you have anything in mind that you're looking for? Anything you'd like to do?"

Bhaskara shook his head "No not really, but I have to take care of myself somehow, you know how it is, an adult pae is responsible for themselves." He said in a casual tone.

Well, that was -quite- peculiar to be emphasizing a so-called age - certainly not something one would usually feel the need to bring up out of nowhere. Were they trying to convince themselves of this role? Some form of coping mechanism? Either way, as a stranger, it wasn't Althae's place to butt in and needle them unprompted... as much as her instinct would like to. Everypae had their own circumstances, after all.
Maybe she'd be able to hear their story someday.
Attempting (but perhaps not fully succeeding) to keep her patronizing to a minimum, she gestured ahead of her to the outer village wall that was slowly coming into view. "If you're needing a job, you can probably find something to suit you in my hometown - Zamarad. We aren't a picky sort of folk towards those wanting to work. There should be position listings on the board in the market plaza... Can you read Common Script?" Couldn't assume anything - there were so many written languages on the Island after all.

Bhaskara frowned and looked the larger pae over. He wasn't so sure about seeking work at this village, he still felt as if this pae thought he was too small to be taken seriously and at that moment he envied his brother who was a full sized pae where Bhaskara was little and would never get bigger. "Yes I can read Common Script.. " He paused and then said "Do you have others of my size in your village?" He wanted to gauge how the larger pae in her village treated pae of his size.

"That should make things easier then. It's the main script we use." Oh, was he seeing if there were any others his age in the village?! How absolutely adorable! Of -course- he'd need some friends his age if he was already on his own. Why, he reminded her of when she set off to Sparks Hollow long ago... And, being that her homevillage was, in fact, rapidly growing... "No need to worry! There are plenty others your size. I'm sure you'll be able to make a friend your age quickly."
She shielded her eyes from the sun for a moment before perking up and grabbing at the straps of her backpack. "Oh! I can see my sister up ahead. Good luck little guy - I hope it all works out for you!"
Offering him a brilliant smile and a wave, she quickened her slithering pace to head over to the village's edge, where her sister Tanzanyt was pulling guard duty. He might be able to see her offer a winged rak in the distance before continuing past the gate.

Bhaskara was too hungry to keep going without finding work for at least a little while in this village, his tummy rumbled again to remind him of that fact. He still couldn't be certain if the larger pae was taking him seriously or not but it was no matter he would go and look for work where she suggested.
