Evie took Soyala home with her, feeling quite happy, and excited to spend time with the beautiful, intelligent cat. “I hope you’re ready to be spoiled, and I know that you’ll tell me if there’s something I can get for you too, but…I hope that the apartment is good enough.”
It was good enough for her, obviously. Everywhere was covered in plus things. Evie liked comfort more than the average person, or at least she thought so. The couch in the living room was large and overstuffed, a soft, worn leather that always stayed cool even on the hottest days.
The whole apartment was decked out in pale purple and deep maroon, an interesting choice of colors, but some of Evie’s favorites. “Welcome home, Soyala. Make yourself comfortable…do you…need a litter box or…do you use the bathroom…? I am so sorry if this is a rude question, but it’s the first time I’ve had one of your kind here, and I need to know if I should run out to the pet store before they close…? I think at least one is still open…”
Hopefully…Soyala would answer the unasked question about if she ate cat food or not. Evie had the suspicion that if she asked…Soya would just get up and leave. So she kept it to herself.

Soyala was, of course, ready to be spoiled. Eager to be spoiled, even. In her opinion, it was something she was entitled to; attention, affection, and such all ought to be hers. That Leona--Evie--had recognized it and intended to pamper her as she deserved just meant that she had made the correct choice in helping Elsa to power her up.
"I promise, I'll let you know if there's anything at all I need," she said, and she meant it. Though she expected, from what she had seen so far, that this particular Senshi would have no trouble catering to her desires. And there were so many soft spaces...ahhh, what a wonderful decorator.
"I find litterboxes gauche," Soyala said, "and I promise, I can handle all of that well enough without one. And, ah...I do prefer not to eat cat food." She wrinkled her nose. "I've tried. It's awful."

“Oh, good, good. I had hoped so? It saves me money anyway, and you didn’t seem like the type to eat just…animal food. So, what do you like? I have chicken…do you like your food raw or cooked? Tell me how I can best pamper you?”
Reaching up, Evie drew Soyala off of her shoulders and put her right onto the couch so that she could get the lay of the apartment. “I was thinking of having garlic chicken for dinner if that’s to your liking? Or seriously, if you need like…fish or something, I can do that too…I don’t have anything other than like…fish sticks in the freezer, but I can buy some for you.”
Maybe she would be able to get helpful tips on how to get stronger, tips on how to be a better senshi, how to just…be amazing.
She wanted that.
Desperately.

"No, I am certainly not the type." Soyala shook her head, firmly. "But I can eat your food perfectly well. I prefer fish--smoked salmon really is a treat, and fish sticks are plenty delightful if that's what you have--but chicken is perfectly delicous, and garlic chicken sounds especially so. As long as you don't mind cutting mine up into smaller pieces." She sighed, mournfully, raising a paw. "No way to do so myself, I'm afraid, and tearing apart a chicken breast with my teeth would be gloriously undignified."
Ugh, how unpleasant such a thing would be. No, Soyala would not allow herself to be lowered to such....barbarism. But she expected that Evie would look after her, well enough, and she wouldn't have to do so.
"I won't ask you to disrupt your entire life for me, darling. Treat me as you would any other roommate, if one who requires a bit more assistance with certain tasks. And who can't go shopping for her own food."

“I mean, you’re a guest, unless you really plan on staying here, in which case, you’re my roommate who I treasure and would do absolutely anything for.” Walking to the kitchen, Evie washed her hands and pulled out two chicken breasts, slicing them and putting them into a pan with lots of butter and garlic.
“As cute as you would be tearing into the chicken like a mini lion…I’ll cut yours up, nice and small. No worries.”
The apartment began to smell rather fantastic quite quickly and Evie sighed softly. “Hey, Soya? Why did you choose me? Like, I’m not unhappy about it, or ungrateful but…what was it about me that made you think, wow! Let’s give that girl some magic? Becuse, not going to lie, I know I’m great but…never would have believed I was magic.”

Soyala laughed. "A guest, then. Who might make herself comfortable for as long as you'll have me," she said, and she followed Evie into the kitchen, climbing onto a counter out of the way of the stove but close enough that she could watch.
"Oh, that smells magnificent," she sighed, wriggling happily. "You're clearly quite the cook." Even if it was technically simple, Soyala felt as if she needed to demonstrate her appreciation.
Evie's question, though, made her pause, and tilt her head to the side.
"Why, darling, you had a star in your heart," she said. "I can tell, as a Guardian Cat, when someone has the potential to be magical. And I thought...something about you told me that you would make a very good Senshi. I can't say for sure what it was. It's hard to describe. But a Mauvian knows, I promise. And I know that you are going to be one of my finest."
Sure, Soyala thought all of her Senshi were her finest, but that didn't mean that it was any less true for her to say she thought Evie would be. And anyone who wanted to bring her home and cook for her won about a thousand points in her book, anyway.
