Nectaris hadn't been kidding when she'd said that she'd put in whatever effort it took to, like, bond with a Wonder so that she could end up with the glowing markings on her skin like the ones Encke had had. She didn't know exactly how the process worked, but she figured if she was gonna emotionally connect with a place, or physically fix it, the first step was to go actually see the place.

So, as soon as she had a free moment between all of the patrolling and talking and trying to settle into her new life, she slipped away to one of the parks and she looked up to where she could see the moon, almost full, in the sky.

"Hi!" she called out to it, waving. "I'm gonna come visit you, okay?"

She didn't actually think there was much up there that could hear her. Like, the Code had heard her from Earth before, apparently, but that had also kinda been an emergency. Only, after a second, it seemed like maybe there was something up there that was listening, because all at once, Nectaris knew what she had to do.

"I pledge my life and loyalty to Nectaris and the Moon! I humbly request your aid, so that in turn I can give you mine," she said, singsong, and twirling, and then all at once everything shifted. She gave a happy little squeak as the world fell away.

When the world stopped spinning, the first thing that Nectaris noticed was the stars. Like, she could kinda see stars in the city sometimes if she squinted, but it was nothing like this. She could see the Milky Way stretching out like it was actually milky, and when she turned around, she could see Earth.

Nectaris didn't stand still often, but for a minute there, she stayed with her mouth slightly open, watching the clouds shift and curl around North America.

It was only then that actually looked down at the surface of the Moon, and at her Wonder. The ground didn't stand out much. It was pretty dusty. In front of her, a little bit away, she could see some buildings, though, and-

Wait. Was that stained glass? Was that blue and purple and pink stained glass? It was shattered out in a lot of places, true, but Nectaris could see that the three largest buildings were made pretty much entirely of stained glass.

Okay, it wasn't gonna take a lot of effort for her to bond with this place. She was already kinda loving it.

There was a door, also made of glass, on the one that was both biggest and closest, but it was halfway fallen off its hinges, and Nectaris slipped around it easily.

It was even prettier on the inside. The earthshine gently lit up the stained glass, and Nectaris could pick out motifs of the moon, and of butterflies like the ones on her staff.

The inside was a lot harder to make out. It wasn't really all that furnished, considering. There were a few benches made of pretty, twisted metal, and some things that were probably broken statures, and some other things that almost looked like bird baths, or maybe little fountains, but even though she was technically inside, there weren't any, like, beds, or tables, or normal human things.

That kinda made it better.

This place was not only the prettiest ever, it was also kinda mysterious.

Maybe Nectaris should've stayed longer, but she squeezed her eyes shut and vanished back to Earth, 'cause she was jut gonna have to tell someone about this.
