Nectaris might not have actually remembered all that much about the Negaverse, but she knew enough that she was pretty sure she didn't like them. She'd seen how sad and beat up Ganymede had looked when they were done with her, and she knew that she'd apparently been given some kind of second chance to make sure that stuff like that didn't happen to anyone else.

She also knew that apparently she'd given up her family and all of her past because she thought that they were so bad that she needed to stop them. She wasn't about to doubt her past self's judgement.

So, she didn't hesitate when she felt the dark feeling of what she assumed was evil, or Chaos, creeping around in the back of her skull on one of her first patrols after feeling slightly more settled into her new life. She ran right towards it, clutching her moon staff in both hands.

"Are you doing anything bad? If you're doing anything bad, I'll stop you! I've got magical girl powers," she called out, pointing her staff at the brown-haired boy in front of her.

Gismondine hadn’t been doing anything bad. Though he had teleported three times already tonight to get away from strong people on the side of order, and was utterly exhausted. He knew he should have just powered down and gone home after the first…or even the second but.

But now there was a forth one, and as he stared, wide eyed and rather terrified, he realized that there was something familiar about the figure who stood before him, staff raised in what was clearly a fighting stance but…

No…no she was supposed to have daggers...not…not a staff…she…

The Captain stood and just stared, his mouth slightly open as his mind tried to process what he was seeing. Tried to process it and tried to reject it utterly. This…She.

No.

No, there was no way she would have just left him behind. No way she would have just left without saying goodbye…without saying anything she…she knew that…

His vision blurred suddenly with hot tears, and Gismondine took a step backwards. “...Y…who…who are you?” There was a strange plea in his voice, and though he didn’t know what it was that he wanted….for her to know him? To reassure him? Or to tell him that his imagination was stupid and that she wasn’t Sylvite but…

But it looked so much like sylvite…he couldn't at all see how she couldn’t be…

It didn't look like he was doing anything bad, now that Nectaris was getting closer, it kinda looked like he was starting to cry?

It didn't even look like he was just randomly crying. He was staring at her, and the more he stared, the redder his eyes were getting. Did that mean that he was crying 'cause of her?

Okay, so on top of not trying to touch people's hats, apparently it was bad to just come charging in and threatening people, because she didn't think she liked this. This guy was dressed up like a vampire, and if he'd been acting like one, draining people's life force or something the way she'd heard the Negaverse could do, it might have been kinda cool to make him stop and shake in his boots a little bit, but like this? It just felt weird.

"I'm Nectaris. Um, hi?" she said, 'cause that was what he had asked. "Sorry, I guess that was kinda aggressive. You're okay. I'm not gonna hit you."

She tossed the staff to the sidewalk behind her to make that more obvious.

Gismondine swallowed and nodded slowly, trying to force what almost passed for a smile onto his face. “...Is it…s-stupid to ask if you know who I am…? I…I’m going to…to assume that you don’t…”

He drew in a breath and felt the tears fall, quickly reaching up to scrub them away. She wouldn’t want him to be sad. She wouldn’t want him to be upset…if this was…what had happened…it…would have been what she wanted…it…this was…

“...M-my name is Gismondine…you um. You’re very pretty…”

Maybe it wasn’t Sylvite. Perhaps she had a…a twin! And perhaps this wasn’t the answer to why his General wasn’t answering his messages…she wouldn't have left him without a goodbye…she couldn't have. She knew…

Sylvite wouldn’t have done that. Not to him.

But…then again…hadn’t she had a whole team that she didn’t tell him about? Hadn’t there been a whole group of people that…he had no idea existed?

The very fact that she kept secrets was…already proven, wasn’t it? But…

“...Nectaris…what does…um. What does that mean? You’re…a Knight?”

Okay, he wasn't crying as much now. That was good. Getting rid of the staff had done something. Although, when he was asking if she remembered him, she realized that he might not have just been sad 'cause he was scared.

Oh.

Was this like with that senshi? Was this because of something she'd done before? She had no idea how to answer him, though, because she had absolutely zero idea who this guy was.

"No," she said, and then quickly added, "But I also lost a bunch of my memories. Like, so many. It's really bad. Do you know me? My name used to be Sylvite."

That was probably what he'd meant when he asked who she was, yeah? She hardly wanted to go around introducing herself as Sylvite, though. She wasn't some evil rock.

"Anyway, it's nice to meet you too! I like your hair," she added quickly, not wanting to make him dwell on any of the uncomfortable stuff. "I think I, like, protect the world and the Moon and stuff. Have you not met any Knights?"

Gismondine swallowed and felt the world utterly shatter.

She was Sylvite. This wasn’t…some bit of awkward luck…this was…

She left him.

For a moment, the Captain swayed where he stood, face going pale and then he shoved a smile onto his face, forcing back everything, absolutely everything so as not to startle her. If this…if this was what made Sylvite…Nectaris happy well. He would just have to deal with it. For her sake.

But. Maybe he didn’t have to deal with it right then and there. Maybe…he could deal with it some other time. Later. When the world wasn’t ending. He could bring her snacks. Be her friend again…after all, he knew what she liked, didn’t he? And he could…he could…

Gismondine took a step back, nodding. “...I’m..that. That’s great. You’re great…You…” He shook his head then, the painful looking smile still on his face. “I’m afraid…I have to…I should go…it’s…late and I have to…to see um. I need. You…You know how it is?”

He took another step back, and though he knew that teleporting would do no good at all…he did it anyway. Using his last remaining drop of strength, he teleported to Sylvite’s office. He was so desperate for this to have all been a joke. A trick. A misunderstanding.

But the office was empty. As it had been for days now.

…She really was gone. Really was that cheerful, bright eyed Knight that…

That had left him behind.

It was a good thing that the office was empty, for nobody could hear him or see him break down. An empty office to become a safe haven…and once again, Gismondine was alone.
