"Laine-y, lovely - prettiest ******** please - I need a ring." and any smolder he could toss into his tone, how he knew he'd break for whining if he absolutely had to. He had so many ideas. Scrapbooks and phone slides full of 'em - he'd settled on something based around science? Around, whatever...Rocks, he had rocks. Amethyst and Faustite flames - who the ******** knew that mineral was green!?- all wreathed up and pretty looking about a center stone. He had designs for those rocks and knew -- just -- he knew she could do it for him if he asked her too *nicely enough*.
"I will pay you for it!! Just -- uhm -- in installments, after? It's an act of true love!!!" Big eyes and a pretty picture of on his knees, puppy-dogging up at -- and hot damn he'd forgotten how long her hair was? That he used to go to her for all his piercings? That he would probably bring his boy in to get things done, sometime, some point? Maybe? She made clean s**t, good quality, none of that silver-plated nickel that turned green after a month; all those ******** mall side trips and shoddy shops for teens.
All the reasons he didn't have a tongue ring anymore, not that that'd been the main one? But, he was a guy who could occasionally learn lessons, and pay for quality.
Because Laine was a professional.
"Pleeeaaasssss..."
Waru had no skills for making anything. All the things he could wrangle into his cinched, praying hands - and finery was not freaking one of them. Hammers and ham-fistedness did not pretty, sporkly, jewelry-things make. Not even close.
(Slap this into an imaginary timeline somewhere ---- post-meta, pre-thanksgiving?)

"Prince Albert~" Laine shot back with a small grin, upon hearing her own pet name. Waru was one of the few who could get away with calling her Lainey and not immediately get something hurtled in their general direction. She watched idly as he did his little act, complete with puppy dog eyes and a pouty lip. Laine rolled her eyes playfully, snatching up her drink to hide the small that was spreading across her face. Was she actually going to fall for this routine? One glance at the tall dork told her that, yes. Yes she was. Hook, line and sinker. "Okay, okay. Just, stop begging." She laughed, setting her drink back doen and pushing her bangs out of her face. "What am I working with. And you have to tell me who it's for." She wasn't entirely worried about payments. They could always figure that out later. "True love huh? You got it that bad?"

Oooh, the name - Waru groaned for it, all winced chagrin and big-a** smiles. She could get away with it, had all the right to tease the s**t he'd had her pierce, as well as his bout with being so damn spastic that he couldn't leave ******** thing be. Ears, nose, tongue, how many things had he played with puttin holes in since the second he could scrape enough cash together to get it done? All without settling on any one damn thing? He got bored too easily, that was for sure. He thanked the world for Laine's good taste in accessories - and Kor's in women and ink. " Ya'h sure -- I've been told I'm cute when I beg? Course, I'm cute doing a lotta things.." and it was absolutely fine if he made a bit of a scene, beamed up at her and knee walked a bit closer. He had a fools tale to tell and didn't much care how he looked during the telling of it. Plus, it was really good seeing her again, especially for something important like this! "It's -- <********>, but it's a whole story? If you've got the time. A half a year's not too fast, is it? No, wait, what'm I saying," it was insanely fast, they hadn't even lived together, he barely knew the guys last name or --- But what were names in the middle of a magical war? Time didn't matter to him, he had now and the only way he knew of to make now seem like 'forever', well, it was a far more traditional thing then what was typical for him. "I've got ideas for materials, engravings, yanno how they carve stones outta water into neat little shapes?" and Waru didn't want diamonds and gems, pulled a messy scrap of paper with a half drawn diagram, all amethyst n Faustite stone - which apparently was some type of special turquoise? In all caps 'no metal', and a mess of swirls with lines indicating 'bind/flames'. "He's literally just, guh, I never thought I'd wanna marry anyone? Idunno if he's even the marrying type? He'd look so good in a ring though...if anyone deserves having one put on 'em. It's Elex Risk." dramatically wistful sighs, he was a flustered mess of 'at-a-loss' for how to explain the insurmountable muchness of Ei' and what he was to him. Maybe it'd be nice to put it all into words, though? He hadn't come up with vows -- didn't even know if Ei' would say yes or not.

When he winced, she only grinned further. "Cute when you beg, cute when you don't... Ooooh I wonder what you look like crying." Laine sat back, making a show of tapping her cheek in thought. "Cute doing a lot of things indeed.." Not that she'd know. "You're just cute in general Waru, but you already know that, don't you?" Of course he did. Laine snorted as Waru just seemed to absolute gush. Oh boy, he really did have it bad. "For you Waru, I've got all the time in the world." With all the time they've spent together... The piercings... The convo's they've had.... There was little to be left unsaid at this point. With a soft sigh, Laine shook her head. "Whether or not I think half a year is fast enough doesn't really matter. It's your relationship. Not mine. You need to do what feels right. If this is what feels right to you, then you do what you need to do." She waved a hand idly. Waru knew of her past relationship. The ups, the downs... Who was she tell him what was right and wrong. She leaned over when he pulled out his paper, glancing over it. "... Did you want to cut something into the stone? Like they typically do with jade pieces???" No metal, huh? Well... That was certainly different. "I'm not my father." She reminded. "So just... don't go expecting his quality. It might not be perfect but I'll get it as close to it as I can manage.." Laine only snickered when Waru started gushing all over again. "Ooooh my baby's got it bad. I admit, you and marry were probably something I'd ever hear in the same sente-" She paused, letting his words catch up. "Waru, what do you MEAN you don't know if he's the marrying type?" ...Was... Was he really taking a shot in the dark with this? "What am I going to do with you..." Laine sighed, sinking back in her chair. "Okay.. Do you even know his ring size??? And Waru, I love you, but I swear to ********, if you give me a measurement for anything other then a finger..."

He was dying, she was killing him, he wanted to hug her so damn badly. Every sweet little barb full of knowing that pierced exactly where she aimed it. If Waru's grin got any bigger? Any sharper? It woulda split time n' space, cleaved some grand canyon sized hole in the ozone; all just for her. "Oh, I do," preened for being called cute and closed the gap enough that he could just exist before her, knowing she'd probably get her wish before the days end. The whole whiplash of emotions he'd had trying to conjure up his hodgepodge ideas into an explainable sort of reality. Waru settled enough that he could pull out his phone and scroll to a file of photo examples. "just like I know loves hard n s**t...s'why I came to you for this. Don't need your dad, need a womans touch, need the kinda creativity that comes from - well - 'you'." he wanted raw materials, rough stones, dremel cuts. She could polish it up afterwards. Smooth it out and refine it. Lainey had so much in her life, she'd lived it fiercely so far as he was concerned. Even if they were only a few years apart? She felt older to him, wiser, certainly smart enough that she'd warn him off -- kind enough that she wouldn't lose her mind and judge over the car-crash ablaze recklessness of his choices. He loved her work as dearly as he loved her. Wouldn't cry over quality when what he wanted - what he needed? Was some Soul. "S'why I'm so excited about this. This is just -- ffffhhhhuck..." and he sat himself before her very sharply shoed feet, left his phone open for her to do as she pleased. "...t'be fair, I didn't think I was the marrying type either. Till him, we met at work, of all places? N then we hung out at this museum -- I got chased by the cops -- miiiggttvee knocked over a mammoth statue? N he just, rolls with all my bullshit! I talk, and he listens, and he cares! He get's me even when I don't get myself --" flash of blush over sharp cheekbones, Waru coughed on a laugh and shot her a * look*, cause that was an idea, he was tempted, even. Really -- really -- so very tempted -- but no! "--oh-huhn, maybe I could get that next time?" a soft little hum and hands held up in innocence. No other thoughts in his head, only fingers, and sizes, all appropriate things. "He's got a piano players fingers, long, thin, sharp nails. Think he's a 5.5, but I always hear people tell me to size things up?"
