John was lucky in that the bar wasn't crowded tonight. It wasn't a Sports bar and did have a higher clientele usually, but when the home team was playing, even this bar could be packed with people at this time of night. Tonight it was quiet though as jazz played in the background and he sipped on his margarita in an attempt to relax before his day off tomorrow. He was trying to decide what to do with it. Should he go to his Wonder? Go out on Patrol? Go and find a few card games to join? It was hard to decide and unfortunately he only had the one day off this week. They were supposed to get new artifacts in by the end of it so he would be busy the rest of the weekend. While he was trying to sort out his thoughts he thought he saw a familiar face come into the bar. He held his hand up in the air in greeting to the other. "Alexander! Good to see you again!" He said as the other got closer to the bar.

Alexander enjoyed a nice bar night sometimes, especially after longer days in the office. A quieter bar was usually his go to, avoiding Sports Bars much as he could to get a drink and just relax. Maybe read something on his phone while he does. He tensed up for a moment as his name was called out, shoulders tightening. It wasn't always a good thing to be recognized in public with his field of work, but his tension eased as he spotted the source of the voice. A smile spread across his face and his hand went up into the air in a wave. " John! How are you?" He asked, making his way across the room to join John at his table. " Ah, it is good to see you again, my friend. Is this your usual bar too?"

John nodded, happy to have some company. "Yes, it's right near the museum and one of the quieter ones. I don't mind a little loudness sometimes, but I prefer to be able to drink and hear myself talk." He said with a chuckle. "You want something? First round is on me! After all, you saved our butts with that embezzlement case." He was still annoyed that it had happened and how much money the museum had lost to that greedy manager. "How's life for you these days? Anything exciting?" John had quite a few exciting things happen to him, some of which regular civilians couldn't know, but he was happy about some of the new pieces that the museum had been able to get.

" Yeah, I love this place. Just quiet enough to drink and read, but not so quiet that you can break the silence. And I certainly won't turn down a glass of whiskey." Alexander smiled to John, taking a seat and clapping his hand on the man's shoulder, giving a gentle squeeze. " Hey, I was just glad to get a chance to help out one of my favorite museums. I heard a rumor a new exhibit may be coming soon? I can't wait to see the pamphlet on it." The talk of his more discrete passion always made Alex smile wide and true, a glint in his eyes at the prospect of new histories to uncover. " Ah, a couple new things, but nothing overly exciting. My last hike had some really spectacular views, and I nearly fell off the cliff getting too close for a photo." Alexander chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. " Beyond that... Trying to learn how to make proper paella. Haven't had it since I was a kid, so I figured it was time." " So, what about you? How have things been?"

"I should come here more often then." John said with a smile as he signaled the bartender and ordered the drink for his acquaintance. He nodded to the other. "Yes! Very interesting Aztec pieces and art that have been collected over the ages at various museums. They're finally going to be in one place, at least for a bit. Then it's going to start traveling around the country before going back to Mexico." He said with a nod. He was very glad that he had been able to negotiate and help set up the exhibit. It would be there for 3 months before it was moved to another museum, but they had already started to put some of the pieces out. They just weren't available to the public yet. John couldn't help but let out a chuckle at the other's close call. "Sometimes nature is a bit too interesting! I hope you were able to take the photo that you wanted!" He thought about himself for a moment. He couldn't say anything about his powered life of course, but there were a few things that he had done in his civilian life recently. "When I was negotiating the pieces for the exhibit I got to travel to Mexico and take a look around the ruins. Incredibly fascinating! If I could carry all of the food and water I needed I would have stayed there for months! And got 3rd place in a poker tournament at one of the nearby casinos. Didn't lose too much at least, but I always find playing is more fun than winning. Especially if I bet low." He said with a smirk before taking another sip of his drink. "We should go hiking sometime together, when we both have time off. We could go somewhere neither of us have been."

Alexander laughed, nodding. " I'll have to come here more often if the company is so good." He listened intently as the Aztec artifacts were discussed, and their trip ending in Mexico. A smile breaking across his face as he thought about when he could come see the pieces, imagining what they might have. " I love traveling exhibit, they give such additional life to the time with us. I can't wait to come see them, learn something new about the Aztecs." " How did you like Mexico?" Alex asked, leaning in to the table some. " I was in Juarez about a year back and thought it was just so fun. I'm not much for camping, but I would definitely spend time out somewhere like that." He took another drink, smirking at the mention of gambling, nodding along and laughing at the notion of betting low. At hiking his head picked up some, nodding already. " That would be fun! I feel like as the history expert you'd be the one to know where all the good spots are. No reasoning why I think that, since as I say it I realize the two don't correlate, but eh."

"It was amazing. Though when I'm touring ruins I always think they're amazing." John said smiling a little. "I want to see Machu Picchu in Peru next, but it's taking some time for the dealer that we're working with to come to an agreement. I'll be flying out two weeks from now." So much flying. If John was able to use his ability to teleport instantly to his Wonder to teleport on Earth, he would use it a lot more often. "Hah! Thank you. But I believe we could be helpful to each other when we go." He said with a nod before taking a moment to drink. "We can come up with a time and research a place. Doesn't have to be far, but enough that we get out of the city for a few hours."He set down his glass and thought for a moment. "You haven't seen anything strange happening around here have you? More than the usual I mean." He wasn't trying to pry any information from the other, but he wanted to get an idea of what the city was like from someone he believed to just be a civilian. John hadn't done much himself, but he wanted to do more, especially now that he was a Squire.

"Ah, Machu Picchu is amazing, I got to go a few years back. A real hike though, let me tell you. Definitely want good shoes for that trip."He smiled at John, nodding in agreement over the talk of the hike planning. "Yeah, I wouldn't mind something with an early start. Eat breakfast at a diner, get on the trail, do lunch at the top of it. Yeah?" He leaned back in his chair with a satisfied smile, already starting to think up places he had heard of. The question drew him back, his brow quirking up in question. "Strange? I mean, nothing more strange than normal, I guess. Couple weird animal attacks I heard in the city, but probably just something that wandered in from the forest. I'd say some executives going missing, but I think that's just bias from my line of work.""This isn't where you're going to tell me that stuff in the museum is coming to life, are you?"

John held up his drink in agreement. "Excellent! Just have to work out the time then!" He said before taking swig of his drink which was almost empty. This was definitely exciting and he was looking forward to it after his trip! He listened carefully to the other, his mind starting to feel just a tiny bit fuzzy on the ends. "Weird animal attacks? I hope that animals aren't escaping from the zoo." He said, setting his drink back down. Of course, his first thought was possible Youma attacks, but he hardly ever saw them. Was there a particular place that they liked to hang out? Perhaps he should reach out to others to see if they had seen any Youma in the vicinity. He laughed quite a bit at Alexander's joke. "As interesting as my job is, I don't think I'd be able to stay if everything moved about while I was examining it." He said, his laughter now settling down a bit. "No no, I was just curious. I often have my head buried in the artifacts and art that come in or I'm traveling elsewhere. I just wanted to see if I was missing something."He took a quick glance at the clock on the wall and realized that it was starting to get a bit late for him. He sighed before saying, "Time appears to fly while in good company. I will have to get going soon, but it was good to see you again!" He said, before taking out his wallet and putting money on the table for his drink and Alexander's.

"I'll wait for your call," Alexander said with a wide smile. Far as he was concerned there was nothing better than time spent with others doing something new. He shrugged at the zoo comment, leaving a remark of "Probably just some sick animal from the forest wandering in." The lack of the museum coming to life either relieved him or saddened him, it was a little mix of both it looked like. Too many movies made things look fun. "Oh," Alexander said as he looked up and to the clock. "Yeah, don't want it to get too late. I'll wait for your call, eh?"Alexander waved as he left, remaining at the bar only a little bit longer before adding some more money to the table for a tip and taking his leave as well. Wouldn't do to say goodbye and then walk out together anyhow.
