Kray had sent out a simple text, telling Kazuo and Derek to meet them at one of the more secluded parks at the outskirts of the main city. Away from their home. He quickly stashed away his phone before he had time to look at the screen after hitting send, opting to try and sooth the main pacing nervously in front of him. "Hey..." Kray said softly, slipping his jacket off and wrapping it around Kor's shoulders." It wasn't cold, at least not that cold to warrant needing one... but the weight and familiarity was hopefully enough to distract Kor at least slightly. "...We've been through worse..." He reminded Kor, kissing the others forehead. "We'll figure out what to afterwards..." They've had to start over before... Time would tell if they'd have to do it again.

"Did... Did I ever tell you why I joined in the first place?" Kor asked, a hand going to Kray's shirt, fisting just at his stomach. The jacket was needed, very much. While Kor wasn't shaking, he was definitely bubbling up anxiety and it wasn't the kind that came from excitement. If Kor were being honest with himself, he really felt like puking.

"I wanted to protect Laine... I wanted... I did this voluntarily and now.." Now he was running away like a coward. Okay, maybe not, but God, some deep part sure did feel like that.

They had just got River back. Now he was losing him again.

"I'm terrified."

Kray made a soft noise, prompting the other to keep talking as he wrapped an arm around Kor's waist. Another element of grounding.. Maybe more so for Kray then Kor. It would definitely keep the other from bolting if the jitters got too bad... "Laine..." Kray said a little more flatly then he meant to. "Laine as in... thousand foot hair, can flip either of over her shoulder without even trying? Super ******** tiny? That Laine?" He looked down at the other, slightly confused.

"Firefly, look at me." Kray said softly. "I am too." They were losing more then they ever had before, if things didn't go smoothly. "I'm right here with you. I haven't left you yet... I don't plan on starting now."

--

Derek was admittedly confused when he got the text having left the house earlier to go wait for Kaz to get off work. He knew where the park was but hadn't ultimately been out that way before. The blonde fixed Kaz with a soft smile, hoping to help ease any anxiety the other might have. Lacing their fingers together, he nodded in the direction they needed to go. "Let's... see what they want then I guess??"

Of course, Kor heard how Kray said her name. It was a sore spot for most of them. Especially Kor.

He was told to look, and so he did. Those green eyes were full of sadness and anxiety. He grabbed that shirt tighter and just clicked his tongue. "We won't regret this, will we? What if it ...what if it breaks everything? ********, maybe this was a bad idea."

----

Kaz's stomach had dropped when he got the text. Something was fishy. Kray seemed to be a bit more withdrawn these days. Derek's smile was readily matched, just as soft, but his face told the story.

"I hope nothing terrible... All of our places are getting too small..." Kazuo figures, that before River was a part of them, it was only a matter of time. He didn't like the idea of adding another to the group, but he hadn't liked it when it was first proposed either. Kazuo just took time to get used to things. This was going to be another one. At least he saw this one coming.

It didn't feel like cheating.

With that, he tugged Derek along, butterflies in his stomach.

Kraven didn't answer the question. Instead, he once again kissed Kor's forehead, lingering for a moment before sighing softly. "Would you have rather stayed? You've been miserable about it for a long time. Is not telling them worth the panic attacks you go through every time one of us hears about owed work or a higher up trying to get others in line?" There was also the unspoken acknowledgement of just who was keeping them under the radar. "I don't care either way. I will follow you wherever you want to go." It's what he'd always done. It's what he always would do.

"But... Don't you think we owe it to them? We both know that the Negaverse is not above getting civilians involved. Would you rather see one of them caged? We can't help them here. We'd only be getting them in more trouble by putting ourselves in the cross fire. "Neither of them judged us for what we came from." Be it Kor, Kraven or River. Kaz and Derek had accepted them, all of them. No questions asked. "Do you really think they'd judge us for this?"

--

"Maybe... They're planning something?" Derek proposed. "Was there a date night scheduled?" He didn't remember talks of one... But they'd all been known to spontaneously make one happen.

He laughed lightly. "I keep telling everyone, we just need to buy that cabin we went to a few months back. That definitely had plenty of room. And it had enough bedrooms that we didn't feel on top of each other either. There was even a spare room... We could... have people over?" Derek treaded lightly on that last idea. He knew Kaz was still getting use to having River around. Derek wasn't going to force more on him when he wasn't ready. Derek stayed with him when Kray stayed with Kor.

They'd figure things out. They had before, they could again.

"... We can go to Dionysus later, if you want. If s**t hits the fan, I mean." Derek offered quietly. It was somewhere they couldn't be found, no matter how hard anyone tried.

It wasn't until they finally arrived at the park that Derek's own butterflies began to stir.

Kor just sighed and scrubbed his hands down his face, shoving the heels of his palms into his eyes. God, this was so difficult. Why was everything he did in life so complicated? He couldn't just be happy with Derek. He waned Kraven, he wanted River, wanted Kazuo. Wanted Laine. Why the hell was he so greedy like this?

He was so afraid of messing everything up and everyone, or anyone, leaving him. He couldn't take another one leaving. It would kill him right in his heart.

Sill, Kor tried to listen to Kray's words. Yeah, he was right of course, but at the same time, he felt that sinking feeling that happened with any big change. He might not be clinging to Kray's whole body, but he held that hand like a lifeline.

"I know, I just... ********, there's always the fact that we were you know on the evil side.. This could honestly end...bad."

-----

A date night? Kazuo hummed as he thought about it and shook his head. "No, Kray didn't say anything." Unless it was a surprise. "It's not an anniversary, is it? We're not forgetting something?" He pushed a hand through his long, chocolate hair and then sighed.

Derek talked about the cabin and Kaz couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah, I know, but we have reasons we can't. Mainly I don't drive, don't want to bother people to take me to work..." His apartment wasn't too far from his job. He liked his job. It was a difficult one sometimes, but for the most part, it was pretty routine. Something he could depend on even in uncertain times.

He mentioned having people over and Kaz glanced to Derek before looking forward and sighing.

"...If we go there, I'll have to take you to my territory..."

And then they were at the pack, and he felt like he wanted to vomit, the nerves in his stomach were so bad. Kazuo didn't do surprises well.

Kray just sighed softly, pulling Kor's hands from his face. "Kor... We'll figure it out..." Again, he kissed the others forehead, trying to sooth the others nerves. And maybe some of his own while he was at it. "I..." Kray sighed. "This whole thing of evil side, good side... is so stupid. People use to call us all sorts of names when we were younger, because what we were a part of didn't they? But that didn't make any of it true. Everyone has both good and evil in them... It's what we act on that defines us right?" Kray froze when he saw the others. "I...I guess it was no or never?"

No turning back now.

--

"I don't... think so?" He'd always been bad with dates. He was lucky if he remembered their birthdays, let alone someone's anniversary. "I don't... think we're forgetting anything... But we've all been super busy the last few weeks so.. Maybe a memo was missed??" The blonde squeezed Kazuo's hand, trying to think. "But I like walking or driving you to work. Plus, it's on the way to school so it's not like you're bothering me to do it anyway." Derek said. "I suppose we can find something in the city but... It might be hard to find something with enough space for us all, without outright getting a house.

"Hey.. I didn't just mean River. I'm talking everyone. Kray has his brother, Kor has Namine. There's my mom and sister. Hell, you've got family you could invite?" Derek tugged Kaz close, looping their arms together. "But, we can stick with the separate places too. We've made it work. We don't even have to have people over. We can turn it into... a game room or something. A library? With the amount of books we have between the four of us... Could have a decent one."

"We don't have too. It's just an option. I know you don't go out as often I do. Again.. It's just an idea, if we need an easy out." Derek hoped it wouldn't come to something like that though. The blonde quieted as they approached, not letting go of Kazuo's hand, for just as much Kaz's nerves, as his. "Hey.." He said softly, glancing between both Kray and Kor.

Kor was going to retaliate. He was really wanting to beat it into Kraven's head that the Negaverse was evil, and most of the people there were being lied to and manipulated. But, he couldn't get the words out.

He looked up when Kray froze and Kor did as well. He hung his head before they even got there and took a deep breath. Nope, he wasn't enjoying this. Nausea bubbled up in his stomach and he swallowed thickly several times. This wasn't going to be easy.

All his research was coming back to him, giving him excuses as to why they shouldn't do that. He'd forget something. It varied on what, apparently, but he'd forget a big portion of his life. What would he forget? Did he pick? Did he want to forget?

Then those green eyes found Derek and he grabbed Kray's hand and squeezed it tight. "Hey."

----------

Kaz tried to run his thumb in circles over Derek's knuckles, soothing the blond man.

He spotted Kray and Kor, and almost missed a step. Luckily, he caught himself, but he did see a weight on both of their shoulders that seemed heavy. Oh God, what did they do? Were they going to have to be on the run? Did they do something and the cops wanted them? Kor was part of a gang, right? What if it was gang-related?

In hindsight, that seemed stupid, but his brain couldn't figure out what was going on.

"You two don't ...everything okay?"

Kray wanted to shrink and make himself as small as possible... Which was pretty impressive considering he was the tallest person there. He fidgeted, torn between yanking his hand from Kor and shoving them in his pockets, or gripping the hand in his even tighter. Instead, Kray cast his eyes to the ground, mumbling a greeting when the boys grew closer. He nodded weakly when Kaz spoke, trying not to flinch. "Just... Just wanna talk..."

Ugh..

He hated how his voice sounded.

----

His attention was momentarily snagged by Kaz when he almost tripped, asking if the other was alright before turning his attention back to the others. Derek tilted his head slightly as he watched the others. He'd seen a lot of reactions out of Kor but this was definitely not one he was familiar with. Even when River had come back into the other's life, he'd never looked this pale. This spooked.

Without letting go of Kaz, Derek tentatively reached out and touched Kor's arm. "We.. We passed a bench a little ways back. Maybe we should go sit? You two look like your legs are about to give out." Both looked like the were going to simultaneously bolt and collapse on the spot. "Or uh... We can... just sit on the grass?" Whatever worked for them. "Just... take a deep breathe. We're both right here. Whatever it is, it's gonna be okay. I promise." Derek would do whatever he could to make it okay.

When Derek touched him, Kor grabbed hold of his hand and pressed it to his lips, kissing the back of that pale hand and Derek's knuckles. But he did nod and looked around until he found the bench that was being talked about.

"Yeah. Sitting's.... good. s**t. It's kinda a heavy... it's a big thing."

Vague as possible. God, how did you tell them you're one of the powered up people that drains innocent civilians?

He had done it for the right reason.

------------

Kazuo looked as worried as Derek did. He moved over to his husband, squeezed his hands and brought them to his own face so Kray was cupping Kazuo's face. "You okay?" He asked, voice soft.

The other pair was heading off, and Kaz tugged his big lug along to follow them.

"A ...big heavy thing?" Was Laine hiding a kid from them? That's the only thing he could think of.

-----------------

"Yeah, but I don't know how to start." Kor sat, he sat with his hands on his knees, leaned forward, and stared at his feet.

"So, you know the news right? About the people who are in like weird uniforms?"

Kray felt his heart drop when Kor let go of his hand, only for it to be replaced with Kaz filling in the space. He a soft noise, thumbs brushing against Kazuo's. "I... don't know..." Kray said honestly, hesitantly. It wasn't often that Kaz crowded his space and took charge, but Kraven definitely wasn't complaining as he let the other tug him and lead him to the bench, sitting without arguement.

Again, he nodded dumbly when Kaz spoke. "The uh... The whole... Senshi... Knights.... Negaverse... thing..." Kraven's glanced at Kor before dropping his gaze back to the ground. He didn't let go of Kaz. If he did, he'd have to acknowledge that his hands were shaking.

--

Derek sighed softly when Kor took his hand, a little bit of tension bleeding out of him. He walked with Kor, letting the other lean against him if needed. He held onto Kor's hand, kneeling at the other man's feet. "Yeah..." Derek said slowly, with a small nod. "I'm uh... I'm familiar with it." Probably not something either of them wanted to hear, but Derek wasn't about to lie to either of them. Now wasn't the time for lies. "What about them?"

Bronze Coffee

Kazuo looked at Derek when they mentioned the war going on, not in so many words. "Yeah, I've been keeping up with what's being published..." He knew way more than that. Still, Kazuo didn't stop touching Kraven, rubbing at his hands still, and then shifted to pet through that hair, scratching at his scalp. He was trying to soothe and relax. He didn't know if it was helping, but he hoped so.

-----

"Uh..." Kor looked o Kraven and then to Derek, then finally to Kazuo before he hung his head again.

"We're... part of them. Part of those people who run around the city." His heart was going a mile an hour. This was the way out. It was so close. They had to tell them. These two needed to know. "We're... on the wrong side. On the complete wrong side. We're ********." It was all rushed out with barely a breath between words. "And we're switching sides and s**t's gonna be different and so you gotta know that like..." He gasped for air when he ran out and just swallowed, continue looking down at his boots.

Kray just leaned forward, resting his head on Kaz's shoulder, wrapping his arms around the smaller man. He tried to relax under his husband's affections but it did little to soothe. He made a soft noise, trying to keep his breathing even. " 'm sorry..." Kray muttered quietly, repeating it over and over as if that would fix the problem.

--

"... Part... of who, exactly?" There were... quite a few different teams they could be playing for. It was anyone's guess at this point. Derek gently pulled a hand free, reaching up to cup Kor's cheek, guiding him to look up at him. "Breathe... Deep breathe through your nose, and let it out slowly through your mouth." Kor knew this trick. Derek use to use it a lot when he was easing Kor through a panic attack. The blonde glanced at Kaz and Kray for a moment before turning back to Kor and biting the bullet.

"...Show me? Us Please?" He pleaded softly.

Bronze Coffee

"Negaverse," was all Kor said. He didn't want to show them. He didn't want to power up again. Being absent for so long, he was so terrified of powering up again. Terrified of someone showing up to grab him for whatever punishment would be given. He didn't know. "We're part of the Negaverse and have been for years."

He wasn't doing his breathing. He couldn't. His whole world was slowed down by the words falling out of his mouth. "I joined to help keep someone safe. I can't tell you who but they were so important..." He swallowed, eyes closed, just hanging his head yet again. "I didn't know... what it meant to join. I just knew I'd be given power. The power to protect them. I enjoyed it at first. Thought I was doing good, thought the other side was the one in the wrong."

Green eyes sought out Kraven's before looking down. Looking at Derek was way too hard.

-------

Kazuo's face went neutral as Kor spoke. That one word was like dropping a bomb. His brows knit. Did he fight either of them? Had he hurt them? No, Kazuo didn't fight. Never. But Derek?

He looked over to the blonde, his mouth open, brows knit.

"...Both of you?"

Kray flinched against Kaz as if he'd been burned when the other spoke. "....Yeah.." He muttered, finally picking his head up. "I joined a few years ago... Didn't know he was part of it till we crossed paths one day..." They'd been watching each other's backs in more ways then one. "...Ezra doesn't know... He's not part of this..." He couldn't be."

--

The word hit like a ton of bricks. Derek paused, just watching the two before him for a moment before finding his voice again. "...You... You don't have to tell us. It's probably for the best if you don't actually." Derek didn't want to cause anymore trouble for that person then they might have already had. "It's... It's okay. You both did what you thought was best. You've always done that... No one can fault you for that..." He glanced from Kor to Kray, and finally Kaz mulling things over...

Ah... ******** it... This might be a bad idea but... One way to find out

"I.. I need you to show me. Both of you..." He said reaching into his pocket. It wouldn't take Kaz long to figure out what Derek was reaching for. "This... This isn't going to work if you don't do it..." The blonde pulled a pen from his pocket, letting it sit in his hand for a second before he looked back at Kor and Kray. "... I'll show you mine, if you show me yours..." He said softly.
