heart heart All the activities and processes below are mindful based activities to promote well being. heart heart

All this can be in a journal or sketchbook at home as well. This is meant for you and only for you. If you want to share please do! It'll be interesting to discuss these topics. Every entry you do be sure to date, time and mood you are feeling today. Every entry write down one thing that made you smile.

1 ) Write a letter to future self explaining your goals and what you feel at the time now. You can use your journal for this entry(it can be private but if you are willing to share, please do!)

2 ) My Strengths Tree - draw a tree and use the branches to symbolize your strengths. As for the roots, symbolize your background and what you stand for now.

3 ) 5 things you are grateful for! You can doodle on this entry or just write it down!

4 ) A self portrait! You can Google some simple outlines for a face if you have some trouble drawing. This is a self reflection of yourself! This Art Process helps view how the individual views themselves. It shows how they think about themselves and helps indicate what the individual needs to focus on. This includes art techniques (shading, linework, positioning, perception, etc.), positives and negatives about themselves. Here's a free download of a face outline - Face Outline

5 ) Grounding Yourself in Your Surrounding.
The 5-4-3-2-1 mindfulness technique.

This activity is a technique to ground yourself when you are feeling worried or anxious. This grounding exercise brings your attention and focuses on the here and now.

In this process, Write down in your journal:

5 things that you can see
4 things that you feel
3 things that you can hear
2 things that you can smell
1 thing that you can taste

Materials: Pencil or Pen

6 )Making Pieces into Art

This process is about letting go of your frustrations.
During this art process, we are going to scribble or paint our frustrations out on a piece of a paper. Then we are going to rip the pieces apart and glue them in the journal. This symbolizes letting go of your frustrations and giving yourself a sense of relief when you make it into a beautiful piece of art.
In a sense, that is what life is all about. Life has its ups and downs, it is up to you what you make out of it.

Materials: Paint, Glue, Markers, Journal

7 ) Fill in the Blank Positive Poem:
This poem is about accepting your flaws. No one is perfect, but we can see each other imperfectly perfect. What this means that, your flaws make you, you and that is okay!

8 ) Color in Emotions
This process is to pinpoint where you feel your positive and negative feelings. This helps create a discussion with the Facilitator or Help the Facilitator be mindful where your emotions lie.
It is also good for yourself to see where your emotions are.
Some questions to keep in mind:
Why do you think you have that negative feeling there?
Why do you think you have that positive feeling there?
What makes you feel negative?
What makes you feel positive?
Why do you think you feel that certain emotion on your head?
Why do you think you feel that certain emotion in your shoulders/arms?
Why do you think you feel that certain emotion in your chest? Stomach? Legs? Hands or Feet?
Please write down why you feel a certain emotion in a certain area of your body?

9 ) Stating Facts Process
This page is all about you and your likes and dislikes.
This will help focus on yourself and makes you, you! We are all different and unique in our own ways. This process is great for group settings because it can lead to a discussion. This is also great for a one on one because it focuses on one person.
Materials: Just a Pen or Pencil
What is your name?
What is your favorite color?
What is your favorite food?
What is your least favorite food?
What is your favorite animal?
Do you like sports?
If you played any sports, what sport did you play?
Do you like traveling?
Have you traveled?
Did you go to school?
If so, what did you go for?

10 ) Write a Letter to your Past Self This process focuses on the past. It is about acceptance of what was and acceptance of what is now. Some people had hardships lives growing up and some people had a supportive life growing up. This letter is to address the past.

Write a letter to yourself stating one thing that you would tell yourself.
What is some advice you would give to yourself from the past?
What goals did you want to accomplish when you were younger and what goals did you accomplish now?
What is one word that you would describe yourself now and what is one word that you would describe then?
At the end of the letter; write something positive about yourself.
