It had been a pretty successful night of draining, Ariadne thought. Her wraith was fat with the energy it had collected, and she wished, a little, that they were more than just tools, because she'd have liked the opportunity to treat hers more like a pet and less like an object. It was pretty cute, anyway, long and sparkling and snakelike, and she couldn't help but scratch under its chin when it came back to dive into her mirrorshard.
Before she mirrorwalked home, though, she stopped and plopped down on a bench, content to enjoy the night. It was beautiful, and warm, and the weather was finally starting to turn almost summery--no more chills and no more feeling like she had to wear a jacket over her fuku.
She really did want to enjoy the night, but....she felt an aura on the edge of her senses. White Moon. Stronger than her. It made her shoulders tense. she never knew what to expect, really, from the other side--or from anyone who wasn't Dark Mirror, truth be told.

Another night out looking for Sidouer, searching every place she could think of that the Senshi of Static might have patrolled before she’d been carried away by the Corrupt. Over three months had passed and still, she heard no word. Multiple people were helping her look and every time she tried checking in, their answers were all the same. That they were sorry, and haven’t run into anyone that matches that description. Disheartening… Although she didn’t want to admit the possibility, there was no denying the chance that Sidouer was in fact dead. The General had stabbed her with a sword, and Acrucis hadn’t had the chance to even heal her friend before the generators exploded and the Lieutenant grabbed hold of her. In her wandering, she sensed an aura, one that was familiar in that she recognized it as belonging to a Dark Mirror, come to think of it… I haven’t sensed one of them since before the aliens arrived. Coincidence maybe but it did make her wonder how Remarque was doing. Something worth asking if conversations went well. Cautiously she approached the young woman, “H-hello? Are you ok?”

Oh, good, the other person was definitely coming up to her. Ever since her experience with the alien threatening her with a knife, she'd felt a little jumpy when people approached. It wasn't exactly good, or smart, or fair of her, to assume danger around every corner, and she was eventually going to end up pissing someone off this way, but she was on edge.
And the Senshi approached, and spoke to her, and it took her long enough to process what was said that she'd already called on her magic--"Mourningbride's Wish!"--and held out the flower.
Ugh, she hoped that this wasn't going to make things go badly, just because she was a little jumpy.
"I'm fine thanks!" She said, very quickly. "And I am also not a threat and already done draining energy for the night, so there is no reason for us to have to fight, thank you very much!"Quote: Sailor Ariadne cups her hands in front of her and speaks the name of her attack, and a spectral mourningbride flower appears in her hands. She offers it to a target, and they feel a mild compulsion to take it. If they do, they will find themselves feeling attached to Ariadne and wanting to please her, even to their detriment. It is possible to resist this compulsion, but fighting it will cause the target to feel a physical ache in their chest. This effect lasts for 25 seconds. Ariadne can use this attack three times per battle.

An ethereal flower was summoned, a deep purplish-black hue that drew Acrucis’ attention. It was offered in a manner that one might mistake as a truce of sorts, but when magic was involved it was wise to be cautious. However, the Senshi of Prayer felt drawn to it, to her. With careful steps, she approached the Dark Mirror Senshi and accepted the ‘gift’. “Thank you-” Acrucis twirled the stem, admiring the magical Mourning Bride flower with a level of appreciation and gratitude. “Are you sure you’re well?” Eyes the color of sapphires looked up with concern. “I’m a healer. If you’re hurt, please tell me and I’ll do what I can to help.” It was already in her nature to ask such things and so, to her, it felt like nothing was amiss. That this conversation was as per expected when she approached the bench the other Senshi had been sitting on.

Okay, so, Ariadne might have made a snap judgement. she might have panicked a little. But at least her panic involved her magic, which was ultimately pretty harmless, since it just seemed to make people like her and feel more susceptible to what she wanted. At least it wasn't a punch. So, she took a breath, and shook her head.
"I'm fine, really! Not injured, just....jumpy. I've had some really bad experiences, and uh. Sometimes I maybe see threats that are maybe not there, so. Sorry!" Not that the other Senshi necessarily knew what she was apologizing for, but, eh. The apology still felt polite.
"I'm Ariadne," she said, and she extended a hand. "It's nice to meet you, Miss...?"

“Acrucis,” she replied without caution. “I’m the Senshi of Prayer,” a foolish thing to suddenly add about herself, but ultimately it likely didn’t matter given that nobody these days really knew who she was. Despite the effectiveness of her magic, when she was actively powering up, there were so very few who actually sought her out and even fewer who knew her by name. A sad thing to consider when she’d been powering up for almost nine years, minus a three-year hiatus but life took precedence. Hindsight being 20-20 it was probably a good thing not many knew who she was, made her less of a target at least. Except for situations like this, when she startled another Senshi simply because she was of a higher rank. “Oh, no. You have nothing to be sorry about. Truly, it’s ok.” Acrucis reached a hand out in greeting and gave hers a gentle squeeze. “I was just out here trying to find a friend. She has creme-colored hair, and two-toned colored eyes, pink on the top and jade-green on the bottom. Her uniform has pink accents and has a tiara with a horn on it.” Her gaze drifted downward, obviously affected by what she was about to say next. “She was forcibly corrupted not long after the Vanguard arrived. Assuming she’s still alive, she might not go by the same name.” “You haven’t-” Acrucis hesitated a moment, her stomach churning with anxiety from worry that she’d be told the same thing again. “You haven’t seen anyone that might match that description. Have you?”

Acrucis of Prayer. What a nice name, and a nice sphere. She seemed like someone good to know, and Ariadne had to admit, she was glad at the prospect of having a healer whose name she could call out if things ever went bad at some big fight.
"I'm the Senshi of Mourningbrides," Ariadne said, "the ah. Flower, not the...person-doing-thing?" How else to describe what her sphere might be misinterpreted as? Ah well.
The story made her frown. She wondered if it had something to do with that big battle Abzu had talked about--if the Negaverse had expanded their ranks that night. Ugh, she hoped not, the thought made her a little sick. Sure, not all of them were scum, Gismondine was sweet, but the scum sure did make up a big part of the group.
"I'm sorry, I haven't seen her," she said, "but I can keep an eye out. Ask around." She frowned. "I hope she's okay, or as okay as she can be if she got dragged into the Negaverse."

The disappointment on her face was most obvious, shoulders hung in defeat, gaze dast downward and in the right light, it could be seen that she was fighting to hold back tears. “I appreciate your willingness to keep an eye out for her.” Even though it was hard to see past the grief, Acrucis truly was thankful for the offer. The more people she had looking out for Sidouer the better. Increasing the number would only increase the chance of finding her, or so she hoped. “I don’t know how we’ll communicate if you do see her. But there is a Page of Mercury, Rainier, who is also helping me look. She’ll be able to help you get in contact with me if you run into her first.” Her signet ring was a useful tool, but unfortunately only worked one way. “I should probably get going before someone thinks you and I are having a skirmish.” Dark Mirror and White Moon signatures together didn’t present a positive narrative to someone who might happen upon their auras while on patrol themselves. “Please be safe, Ariadne.”
