Walking through the city with power flowing through her was…well. Rather intoxicating. Bellite had thought that being a Captain was the height of everything, but being a General topped that by a long shot. Truthfully, she was out to try to see if she could find Evan’s food truck, she was in desperate need of a grilled cheese, but the feeling of a nearby Knight had derailed that wanting.
After a moment’s thought, Bellite summoned her new, deadlier axe and rested it at her side before teleporting to just in front of the power signature.
“Ah. If it isn’t my General. Good evening, Michel. You’ve become quite popular, I’ve seen. And I heard your unicorn is back in white too. Have you seen her?” If anyone from the Negaverse were to hear this conversation, they couldn't find anything truly amiss. The mocking edge to her voice hid the real concern that lingered under the surface.
If he didn’t know that Lysithea had gone back to the White Moon well. At least now he would be able to sleep at night, perhaps.
“As you can see, I’ve been busy. I’m now truly worthy of your old office. I do hope that you’re proud of me.”

Briefly, Michel tensed. He was tired, he probably shouldn’t even have been powering up. Sometimes, he did it because he didn’t know what else to do. Maybe it was habit. Maybe he was just stressed. Maybe a part of him was looking for trouble.
He didn’t know anymore, not really.
But then, he felt an energy signature. And Bellite was there. He didn’t know if he’d been expecting anyone, but if he had been, it wasn’t her.
Not as a General.
She was the only one who might have known who he was, when he was looking for Lysithea. When she was a Captain, he knew what she was capable of. Now, he wasn’t quite so sure. He knew Metallia could do things to people. Could change them.
So far, no one in the Negaverse had been able to identify him. He’d been careful not to give anyone his real name. He was just ‘a Saturn Knight’.
Except, she knew him.
He hoped he still knew her.
At first, he just nodded. “I’ve been staying out of trouble, don’t know what rumors you’ve been picking up. But I did hear that Lysithea left the Negaverse. What’s this?” He nodded to her uniform and said, “Hope you’re taking care of that office. I’d be happier if you weren’t still in the Negaverse, but. You look good. Do they have you working too hard?”

“Of course I’m taking care of our office. And this is my new uniform, do you love it?” Bellite grinned, doing a small twirl so that he could see everything. “And I highly doubt that you’ve been staying out of trouble, the reports I’ve read about a Saturn Knight who has been attacking and kidnapping people looking for Lysithea just. Made me worry about you. Thankfully nobody knows who you are, as in, nobody had your name.”
She held out her weapon for him to admire and then sent it back into subspace. “Have you found your friend? You know that she’s back but have you found her, or should I keep looking to get her to you?”
If he had found her, well and good, if not…well. She’d keep putting her nose in, obviously.

He leaned in a bit to examine her weapon, but when it was gone he seemed to relax a bit.
He could trust Bellite. She was herself, more than Metallia could ever take. He hoped. But this was a good start.
“Found her. She came back, but she’s got no memories of anything, really. I mean, she remembers the Negaverse, some.” Enough to want to protect Faustite. He tried to ignore the burning jealousy and disgust from the thought. “But she’s doing her best to adjust. Thank you for keeping your eye out for her. You don’t have to worry about me, I’m taking it easy. For the most part.”
Probably. Tonight might have gone differently if he’d run into anyone else.

“I’m glad she’s doing okay, an di”m very glad that you’ve been in contact with her. That eases my mind. I know that there’s an entry about her asking for her to be brought back so, just watch out, yeah?” Bellite sighed and glanced up towards the sky. “You get yourself in so many messes, Michel. I worry about you so often, and I hope you know that.”
Bellite was quiet for a moment and then looked back at him, giving a small smile, some of her old kindness shining in her eyes. “So. Are you proud of me? I finally made it. Haven’t turned anyone into a youma, but I have one of my own now. She was a senshi and got turned in the big hill battle. I keep thinking about Evan when I’m with her. I’m half hoping to find a way to turn her back into a senshi, one of our senshi, of course but. Thus far I’m not sure where to start, and I won’t have anyone taking her completely away from me.”

The corner of Michel’s lip twitched and he rolled his eyes so he could glower off into the distance. He knew he got into messes. He just thought they were worth it. He didn’t regret it. He just couldn’t believe that they still wanted her back. Maybe it was better that they didn’t want her dead, but still.
He just wanted her to be able to live her life. He didn’t want her to have to deal with any of this s**t.
He was still angry about all of that, but it wasn’t Bellite’s fault. He didn’t want her to think his agitation was at all directed towards her–it wasn’t. She was one of the few in the Negaverse that he didn’t regularly want to kill.
“You don’t have to worry about me. I’m going to take it easy for a while. Probably not going to pick any fights any time soon. I wanted her back and I was desperate. But I’ve got her, so no need for more dramatics.”
Probably. There were still a few people he could throttle.
“I am proud of you. Try not to turn anyone into a youma. Evan’s around, he’s got a food truck. Doing pretty good these days. I don’t know if you can fix Chaos with more Chaos, but. I’d be rooting for you. Still hope you get out of the Negaverse, I think you can do so much better. But,” a heavy sigh, “I am proud of you. You’re still who you were when I first met you. The Chaos hasn’t chiseled anything away, it seems. I like that, at least, if you’re gonna stay with the Negaverse I’d rather you be you.”

Bellite chuckled softly and nodded. “Good, please do take it easy, let them find someone else that they want to turn into a target. And tell Lysithea to be careful, because she’s named and that just. Won’t go well if they take her away from you again. I can see you utterly exploding and I’d miss you if you exploded.”
She gave a small smile and began pacing, arms linked behind her back. “I visit him, sometimes. Evan. He’s a good kid. I’m glad he’s still sane, glad that he’s still able to just…live. Makes me happy. And his food, oh my god does he ever have talent.”
Bellite paused and glanced at him. “Do you really think I’d leave, Michel? My family is in, I’ve adopted a wonderful corrupted senshi. This is where I belong. I thrive here…and I don’t think I could ever leave it. And I am me, I won’t be anyone else. Promise.”
And hopefully, one day he’d be back here with her. All of them would. And if not…oh well. She’d still try.

It seemed an unfortunate truth that they’d always be on different sides, but maybe it was for the best that they at least had an ally in each other. Michel couldn’t really trust Chaos, but Bellite didn’t seem like it gripped her as tightly as it had him.
Or maybe he was just bad to begin with.
“Just do your best while you’re in there. Make good decisions, don’t let anyone else influence you. I’ll let Lysithea know to be careful.” ******** Faustite, he should have killed him. This was probably all his fault.
If they took Lysithea again, if they even tried--yeah, he’d probably explode. Probably try to take every last one of them out with him, though.
“Evan still has rough days. I think it comes with the territory. But when his business is doing so good and he’s getting so many good reviews, I think it helps keep the doubt and self-consciousness at bay. I think his food tastes so good because he pours his whole heart into it. Thank you for helping me look out for everyone. I guess I owe you some. You’ll have to let me know if you ever need help with anything.”
Ugh, he hated being in debt. But Bellite was a good person, at least. If he was going to be in debt to anyone, he was glad it was someone like her.

“Of course I’ll do my best. You brought me into this life. You owe me nothing, I just like knowing that you’re okay. You’re important to me, traitor or not. You will always be important to me. Evan will always be important to me.”
She grew quiet for a moment and let out a soft sigh. “If something happens. If Lysithea gets taken. If Evan gets brought in. If you corrupt. I’ll take care of all of you. It’s always good to have someone you trust and care about on the other side of things. I know that you would all do the same if I ever made that choice.”
Bellite shrugged and gave a small, genuine smile. “We’re family. Plain and simple.”

He snorted when she called him a traitor, and he supposed it was true. But he was loyal to himself more than anyone else, so he didn’t think it really counted that he’d left Metallia. What had she ever given him besides grief, anyway?
“I’m not going to let anything bad happen to us. But. If things go South, I appreciate you looking after us. And if something ever happens and you wind up in a shitty spot, I’ll keep an eye out for you, too. And if you ever do decide you want out, I’ll make sure you’ve got a place. You’ll be okay, though, Bell. I’m proud of you. You’ve worked hard to get where you are. If you’re not going to leave the Negaverse, the least you could do is take over, all right? Make it better than it is.”
He flashed a little grin, because he only partly meant it.
…But it would have been nice. If she was in charge, he wouldn’t have had to worry.
Probably.

Bellite grinned and moved to hug him, something quick, but tight. “Yeah, that is the plan. I’m not half assing it, I don’t want to. I want to go as far as I can, and I know I’m taking a while to do so but…”
She took a step away. “I’m getting there. See you around, Michel.”
She was glad they still had this friendship. This easy banter. She was glad that she still had him.
…Now she just had to figure out the best way to keep him. To get all of them.
