A debt owed, that was something that'd stuck through the winter months. When the cao-cao had been sweetly cursed, and he'd been so damn busy he hadn't known what to do with himself. It was just one thing and another and the next - endless avenues that wound him up.
Then spring hit like a brick wall and he finally had time to wind down, between sheer cold and oddly warm afternoons. He had the extra oomph to do it with too, and there was a thrill to running on high as an Eternal; officially. To pull on power and have it be there effortlessly -- as if time and space and energy didn't matter anymore. ********, all the ways Albite knew, immediately, that he was going to burn himself through -- everything.
Wasn't it worth it though? Every new step and second spent being out, having ******** butt wings? Which, tahbehonest - he kinda, sorta, hated, but hell? At least they were battish enough that he could pretend they were badass, eh, or bat-a**? Some kinder-level bad pun, he'd workshop it - would run it by his team till they groaned in shame and fled his yammering mouth.
Speaking of yammering ---
How often his mind outpaced his legs, even if he could slip over branches like a shadow and eat distance like a hound on a trail...
There rose up that familiar space. The image of a swan sweeping through the moonlight. A spanning lake and a pick-nic between -- and all the Senshi of the world were his sisters, except the ones that weren't, obviously. Albireo especially? Kindness incarnate and she hadn't hesitated to show it. He wanted - No - he needed to see her again. Even if there were no snow drifts to carry her through in that moment? She deserved to know of the bet she'd won, and he needed to see that she was still smiling.
Even if his wings doomed him to exist as some terrestrially grounded thing by choice, it didn't mean he couldn't hold out hope to see her soar! The stars belonged to the Senshi, after all. Albireo's world was no exception to this.

Sometimes, luck was on people’s side, and tonight it seemed as though it were on Albite’s side. Albireo knew she shouldn’t be going towards the aura of the corrupted senshi…the corrupted senshi who was stronger than she was…but what Cybele and Siegfried didn’t know wouldn’t hurt them, and so long as she came out of this alive...they wouldn’t have to know.
When she was close enough to see who it was, and the familiar dreadlocks came into view…along with the unfamiliar bat wings that adorned his waist, she hesitated for only a moment, before a pleased joy overtook her worry. “Albite? You’ve gotten stronger, I see! Congrats…”
At the very least it was someone she knew. Someone she cared about, at least to a point. The friend…who should be an enemy…but the friend who had taken all of the fear out of her homeworld.
The very friend who’s kindness had allowed her to find Roy.
He deserved her friendship and not her fear.
“I’m sad to see that they’re the bat ones, and that’s all I’m going to say on the subject! But you look good!”

Oh, and Alireos praise! His grin for that rivaled the shine of the moon, made him step from pause into twirl, to show of the fan of wing's and lengthy steel tipped dreads at his back; something he'd always been so sure he'd hate. Cause who the hell wanted butt wings, bows, etcetras accentuating anything?! All the people they looked good on, but never did it cross his mind that one of them'd be him.
The power felt good though, the thrill of having it so easy to cross space and spend his time without sacrificing his energy for it.
“Never as good as you! How’s your man, your planet?” all things that were well and good to know, to ask after, but most importantly? “How’re you.” he had ten thousand other asks and a bucket-load of good news, but knowing she was doing okay? Paramount first thoughts.
Cause he’d missed her - sweetly, fiercely, wanted to see her on her star and smiling bright! There was nothing Abite wanted to picture more than the sort of happiness she could've gained away from the crushing confines of Earths gravity. A Senshi being what a Senshi was supposed to be. Amongst their own and Ruling.
One of these days? He wanted to meet Albireo as a Princess — no — 'A Queen'. He could so easily imagine her glow, the hints of it that sparkled in her eyes, in her easy open smile.
