Iexa 1
He had been on a solo mission to Jauhar and now that he was finally here he could not help but find the thickest thicket of the ancient, gorgeous trees that he could and do his best to penetrate it. Sort of like a salmon fighting upstream. When he had finally penetrated to a clearing he felt sort of free, like this was a place he was meant to be at this exact moment in time. He felt safe from the outside, from the opinions on his unorthodox behavior, from the waves of societal pressure. Perhaps the smidge of alk blood he had was happier here, in the thickness among the slow thought of the ancient trees. He placed a hand upon a trunk.
"What wonders have you seen here, how many lover's trysts, battles and critters since you sprouted from a small seed, would you share your wisdom with me?"

Sarnai had been relaxing in the clearing after finishing a job, her little vacation away before she had to return to her handler. She had her eyes closed as her head leaned back but the sound of someone's footsteps brought her back to full awareness. She shifted to a fully standing position and moved to hide behind a tree out of the way so that she could watch. What she saw was some hybrid boy come into the clearing and walk over to a tree. The shifter eyed him for a second before she moved to get behind him, pulling a blade free so that she had it in hand. While Iexa spoke to the tree she shoved him forward, fully intent on slamming him face first into it, using her arm to hold him there and held the knife at his throat to let him know the threat was real. "Who are you? Did someone send you here?" She kept her voice low and close to his ear.

Just like that his unsuspecting self was slammed against the tree. He was grateful that his family was not around to see this. "Hang on, I'm not even from here!" This is my first trip to Jauhar, and I only came with the hope of experiencing something that would call to the speck of alkidike blood that I posses without having to go all the way to flipping Aisha. If you don't mind you are crushing my nose." The cold steel at his throat prevented any movement on his part. Idly he wondered if he and his twin were nothing more than magnets for crazy females. He was sure his Mother would say that he needed to be more aware of his surroundings but this woman had been disturbingly quiet. He had had absolutely no warning. "My name is Iexadaroch, my family spends most of their time in Matori and Oba where my mother hails from."

She narrowed her eyes at him and shifted only slightly so that his nose wasn't being crushed against the tree. She grabbed him by his hair and pulled his head back and turned it to the side. Sarnai didn't let up otherwise. "With as little alk as you display you might have to go all the way to flippin' Aisha. Talking to a normal tree won't help you." She snarked at him, still right beside his ear. As he gave his name and where his family hailed from she couldn't help but think he was an idiot. Did he realize he just gave her the perfect way to find him and his family and put them in danger? "You're not too bright. I can find you and your family now." An eye roll was given but she kept her stance and the blade at his neck.

"Its the thought that counts, and go right ahead and find them, they are a scary lot, scarier than I am, all of them. Go for it. You wanted my story I gave it, now unhand me and I'll be on my merry little way far away from you and your disconcerting crabbiness." At least she hadn't asked for a piggy back ride across a mud pit. HIS PRECIOUS HAIR. If she ripped a chunk out he would be UNEVEN..UGH.

"Wouldn't take much to be scarier than you, fluff ball." Sarnai had gotten the drop on him after all and he wasn't exactly doing much to get out of being pinned to the tree. The blade came away to be tucked back into hiding on her person. "So no one sent you to find me, that's good." She pulled back on his hair again, mostly just to show who was still in charge at the moment. "I'm going to let you go but if you make a move to hurt me you will kiss this tree again, got it?" Sarnai waited for a second before she let him go and quickly stepped away to avoid any retaliation.

Gah that hurt but it seemed like the harridan was going to let him go. "I want an ale more than anything at the moment." Hops would be soothing at this particular moment. Must she yoink on his hair, she was worse than Zasha. Who delighted in sneaking up behind him and pretending his hair was reins. At least the threat level had gone from immenant death to kissing trees. His brother was going to howl with laughter...actually the whole family might. "Fair enough."

Once she was a few feet away she folded her hands over her chest and eyed him a bit more. His comment about wanting ale made her snort. "You have a ways to go before you find a tavern." The shifter looked the hybrid boy over and wondered about his comment regarding Alkidike blood. While she didn't see it that didn't mean it wasn't true. Was it the ears? Possibly. He certainly had shifter hair and eyes though. From first looks he appeared to be a shifter/fire mix but the crystal color and ears were all wrong for just those two. As she tried to figure out his heritage from looks alone it appeared as if she was checking him out, her eyes scanning him over from head to toe.

He straightened from his tree flattened position and finally got a decent look at his accoster. He blinked. His accoster seemed to be checking him out. He was breathing heavy at the sheer indignity, but if he was being truthful he was impressed with her skills. Not every female could pin a male, even an unsuspecting one and whip a blade out fast enough that she was able to immobilize him, least he loose something important...like arterial blood. He in turn drank his fill of her and was shocked to realize that this fiesty harridan was damn cute. Though he imagined that she would resent that descriptor. He had originally planned to leave promptly, instead he kept his distance respectful and raised a haughty eyebrow at her inspection. "You will not see the alkidike blood, it has been rather diluted. But my heritage was never really simple. Dad is an Ice/Alk/Shifter, thought Ice and alk only make up a quarter each in his blood, where Mom is fire and leaf. In fact the only one to display any Alk at all is my crazy little sister." He had no idea why he told her this. "I gather you would rather be alone, I should find my way out."

She knew she was obvious in the way she looked him over. Sarnai wasn't exactly hiding what she was doing anyways. So when he told her that she wouldn't see it in his looks she brought her eyes back up to his. "Hmm, so its not a lot. You barely have enough to be considered a relation really. Strange. I don't recommend trying to see Aisha though, the Alks are very protective." Outsiders were not allowed in and he would very much be an outsider. "Can you managed to find your way out? I gathered you aren't from around here. And from how easily you offer up information you definitely aren't a threat to me." He was like a broken damn when it came to all that. Whatever she wanted he would likely tell her.

"Hence my attempted connection to a regular tree, as fun as being skewered by alks would be its not on my to do list." He sighed. "I'm pretty decent at navigating, even places I haven't been before. Comes with my profession after a while. I tame critters. Sometimes I'm days out of my way following trails." "If you want company..you are welcome to come." He winked.

Again it seemed the fluff ball gave too much information about himself. It did make it a bit easier for Sarnai to relax around him though. Most people would be guarded and react with defensive comments if they had just been pushed face first into a tree. Still, she managed to arch a brow at him when he stated he tamed beasts. The shifter couldn't help eyeing him up and down again at that. He didn't look like much of a tamer at the moment. Sarnai felt her head tilt just a little as she stared at him. Then she caught the wink he gave her and she narrowed her eyes some. "Mhm.. are you sure it's not you that wants company, Fluff ball?"

"I am a beast charmer, so long as there is wildlife around, I am never alone." He was lacking any furry companion at the moment. Beastly attention spans were not condusive to spiritual quests as it were. "My Xaraan was a bit too energetic for this trip, no doubt he is pacing at home waiting for me to take him for a run." He smiled thinking of his racing bird. So fast. Yay. He turned from her letting his rediculous mane of hair follow in his wake.

Sarnai snorted slightly. "Not the only short attention span, Fluff ball." She muttered under her breath. When he turned from her she had the itch to grab him by the hair again but refrained. Wouldn't do to bully someone weaker than her anyways. So instead she sighed a little and shook her head before she walked over to where she had been before he intruded. Her hands hooked into the hem of her hooded shirt then heaved it up and over her head so that she could take it off. Sarnai had a wrap around her chest beneath it so she wasn't worried about being exposed. What she was worried about was the stitches she had from a cut she'd gotten two days ago. She sat back down against the tree and started to pick through her pack for the supplies needed to clean the area off. Sarnai was doing everything she could to keep them clean so the scar wouldn't be so bad.

Something told him to turn back around, and he heard a rustle. He looked and froze, turning back. "Sorry." Then he looked again and came back. She had a wrap on after all. "I have salve..if you need some." He was a bit clumsy in the bush somedays. Came with being young and still a bit gangly. He was a little taller than average for an earthing perhaps the only stamp the alk blood had made on him.
