16 - 20: What Luck! Wow - this is a rare gemstone not seen around these parts. While not big, it's still something you could add to a necklace or ring.

Yngvara wasn't due for a visit to her Aunt and Uncle's home for a while. In fact, she wouldn't even have been in the area were it not for a stroke of luck with their hunting party. Once all of the field work had been taken care of the young preteen slipped away from her group with the promise she would return the next day and made her way toward their home.

It felt weird coming on her own. Usually she had either her mother or brother; sometimes both, sometimes even her father trailed along. With the shift in weather the Ild'vann had been incredibly busy so she hadn't been able to visit as much as she would have liked, but Yngvara was hoping to catch at least one of them home.

With her pack and bow slung over her shoulder, Yngvara traversed the landscape until the scenery started to become familiar. It took her a while to get there, but when she saw her Aunt sitting outside a smile split her face. The normally quiet teenager raised her voice and then a hand in greeting. "Hei Tante! You look well."

She didn't see her uncle anywhere, but he might be inside or at the shop. As the years went by they bickered a little less, though she tended to mess with him now just to get a rise. It was fun; like finding a badger and poking it with a stick.

"I hope it's alright that I stop by. Our group was close and I wanted to visit."

Yngvara's demeanor brightened. Now that she'd been officially welcomed, as if something like that would have stopped her anyway, she quickened her pace. Her quiver bounced against her hip, the long bow tapping her shoulder with every step, but the teen didn't mind at all.

"I went on a date the evening." While she never raised her voice, or chose to spoke much at all, actually, Yngvara was all grins. "A blind one, but it was still fun. Ziya's just fine; I would have brought him with me if he wasn't busy elsewhere."

Since she'd come close enough to hug Iriyana she did just that. "And you? If you aren't busy today I thought you might like to come with me for a bit."

"Heard a few travelers talking about a smugglers caravan that overturned in the river. Thought we could go check it out and see if we find anything. They kept saying there as gold, silver and gems in their cargo that wasn't recovered." Of course it should have been turned over to the proper authorities, but Yngvara wasn't about to go digging around a river for anyone else. She didn't have much use for coin, though she suspected her father might and it would be nice to give him something.

Motioning over her shoulder, Yngvara started to walk once more, but this time in search of said river. "Her name was Honi; she's from Matori. She was a hybrid too, but a Zenan-Matori mix." Yngvara adjusted the quiver at her side as she walked. "We had a good time, but she's not really my type. She likes to make things with clay and they're cute. I just don't care for cute."

Walking to the river always seemed to much less of a hurdle when you had someone to talk to. Anytime she'd come down with her Aunt or brother the time seemed so much less of a stretch than when she'd snuck out on her own. "I just...I mean, I like cute people, but I don't see how trinkets can help keep you warm." If she were ever going to get serious about someone Yngvara wanted it to be because they could hold their own. Honi was sweet, but definitely not a 'field dressing' kind of girl.

"I don't think I want anyone." At least, not right now. She had so many other things to worry about.

When they reached the river's bank, Yngvara took off her packs and weaponry. It was far more than she'd ever brought before, but she also didn't trust leaving her things behind. "How is Uncle?"

The right one? Yngvara scrunched her brow as she took off her boots. She didn't have much contact with others her age outside of the Ild'vann and even then those within the tribe were more like siblings too her. With the exception of Honi there wasn't much opportunity to date and she wasn't exactly keen on changing that at the moment.

Once she had her leggings rolled up as far as they would go, Yngvara started to pad out into the water. Even in the midst of a warm spell it still had a bite to it. "Is there anything I can do?" She knew better than to ask for details, but it worried her never the less. What could be going on that would have them stressed?

"I can do that." It was the least she could do especially for something that was giving the pair so much grief. Was she a bad niece for not noticing earlier? Or maybe it was because she wasn't around as much...Either way, if that's the way she could help 'fix' the issue then she would.

Crouching down in the stream, Yngvara started the process of shifting stones and moving silt to look about. "Móðir says you only fail when you stop trying. " As long as they were persuasing a goal, no matter long it took, she didn't consider it a loss. Frustrating for sure, but all the more worth it in the end.

When her darkened fingers brushed across a larger stone, Yngvara moved to lift it and grinned. A smaller stone lay buried beneath, no doubt pushed by the current into it's new 'home' and when she lifted it to the light it was easy see it was a gemstone. Of course she had no idea it was rare; just that it was pretty. "Do you think faðir would like it?"
