Apparently helping some klutzy foreigner out of their encampment meant that Cyril surely had feelings for her. While the foreigner was unique and admittedly pretty with her strange features, Cyril had far too much on his plate for this dating game. But because he had been tempted by a free meal, saving money a priority as usual, the hybrid had agreed to go out to a nicer tavern in the city. One of the fellow entertainers, a longtime friend of the family, had spotted Cyril with Zoraida the other day when he had first met the girl while she was tripping around their fairground set up just outside of the city. He had willingly offered to pay for a little date as long as Cyril actually attended. Originally they had been trying to pull a fast one over on him but even Cyril refused to go to some strange tavern unless he had an actual purpose. Why would Graige even ask him to go and have a meal by himself? Come on I'm not that foolish. So the truth had come out that other performers had spotted Cyril with the foreigner and thought it would be nice if he could take her out, they most definitely thought it would be 'cute' and 'lovely' to see him with someone. Then again he had agreed to this event finally....it just took a lot of jabs and urging from the others who wanted to see the usually serious and reserved performer actually go out and experience things.
It's for a free meal and to get more information about the other continent. Cyril reminded himself as he hesitated outside of the tavern, almost tempted to just walk away from this whole ordeal. If he wasn't determined to travel towards Yael then he would have been even more tempted to pass on the free meal. Still, surely this would be a chance to try to find out what travel conditions were like overseas and it would help him to prepare better for the road ahead. He still had to discuss his plans with Selim but it would be best if he could present everything in a nice outline with costs and potential routes included. The ticket price of an airship was only the first step while actually going through Sauti towards Yael would be the interesting part. Ah, speaking of interesting....Cyril nodded politely as he told the reservation name to the server and found himself escorted towards a more private table to wait on his date.
Cyril found himself settling into his chair as he grabbed a glass of sparkling cider to occupy his time as he waited for his date. Fifteen minutes and then I'm gone. He told himself as he refused to waste time for anyone, even if he was hoping to gain some information from them.

Zoraida hadn't expected what had happened on her visit to the circus. She hadn't expected to meet the prickly hybrid that had somewhat unwillingly helped her out. Nor did she expect to be searched for by anyone from that camp yet an older man had. What was even more unexpected was when he asked her out to dinner with some of the performers. While she had been hesitant, she knew she needed to try and meet some other people so Zora had agreed. When it was the arranged time and date she had made sure she was on time. It had taken a little to find the place they were supposed to meet at so she was thankful she had been ready early. She had dressed up slightly in some clothes she had just bought from a tailor in town. The colors of the low cut and form fitting dress were more aligned with that of the geian people but she actually liked how it complimented her skin. Zora made a mental note to pick up a couple more outfits before she left this area. Nervously she fiddled with the clip she had placed in her hair to pull her long bangs back as she notified the attendant of the party she was supposed to be joining. Much to her surprise when she was led back and there was only a single person sitting at a table set for two. And it was Cyril. A blush instantly spread over her face. "Are...are the others not coming?" Zora hesitated by the table, her fingers fiddling with the hem of her new dress.

Ten minutes instead of fifteen enough? Cyril had an elbow on the dark mahogany table, two fingers pressed into his cheek as he studied the mostly empty glass of cider. If he took a few more sips it would be gone and then he would probably leave as well. The hybrid's lips pressed into a tight line at the thought before the appearance of his date caught his attention. Maybe it was because she was a foreigner but she was fairly lovely to look at indeed. Cyril took a moment before finally nodding his head, a faint smirk of amusement crossing his lips. "They sure aren't." He replied quietly as he gestured to the empty seat across from him for her to take. "You've been set up by some meddling entertainers. Might as well enjoy a free meal though."
Without skipping a beat, Cyril found himself waving over a server. "My companion arrived so you can start preparing some buttered rolls for us. We'll also take some fresh fruits while we decide on the actual menu. A bottle of red wine as well." Cyril glanced over at Zoraida after the waitress walked away. "Any idea of what you'd like?" He asked, not the type to waste any time with idle chatter and the like. Cyril had not planned on burning precious time by sitting the day away in a tavern. Those who had set up this meeting were fortunate enough that he had actually agreed to this, his weakness for saving money and getting a free meal once more trumping his desire to avoid socialization at any cost.

"Oh..." Zora said trying to process what he just told her and then instantly felt guilty. It seemed pretty clear to her that he didn't really feel like being here and yet he started ordering some appetizers for them. She felt on the fence of should she just leave or should she stay and have a free meal as he suggested? Yet, she couldn't say that she was disappointed to be sitting down with this man. She wouldn't lie to herself and say she didn't think he was attractive. She suppressed a sigh and looked over to him and decided the simplest answer was the best. "I'm not a picky eater, anything is fine."

There was a wicked gleam in Cyril's gaze at the answer. Well, if he wasn't the one paying for the meal then it wouldn't hurt to just try everything to try and appease the lady. Right? The hybrid nodded before taking a glass from the server, his fingers curling around the rim. "Do you know what you would like?" The waitress began and Cyril simply nodded. "Since we aren't certain we would like to order one of everything on this part of the menu." He pointed out towards all the pricier options, some that he wanted to try and others that he thought could be interesting to bring home as leftovers. None of the troupe had given him a limit and so he was going to do his best to make due with this scenario.
"Hopefully that's alright with you? I know you said you aren't a picky eater, so why not try a bit of everything to see what you actually enjoy?"

Zoraida thought that Cyril ordering for her was sweet...at least until she heard what he was trying to order. Her eyes widened in surprise. One of everything? Wouldn't that be wasteful? Would the even be able to eat that much? How much would that cost? Would the meal actually be free or would he ask her to split the tab later? She looked towards him to try and decide for herself and noticed the look in his eyes, a look that spelled trouble. But maybe a trouble she wouldn't mind dealing with. As long as she didn't need to get up in the middle of the meal and trip and make all of the things on the fall and really waste them all. If nothing else, she would figure out a way to pay things off. "As long as you don't mind sharing dishes, I wouldn't want the food to go to waste!"

Cyril actually chuckled at the reaction from the hybrid, a rare smile crossing his lips. "Don't worry. We're not the ones paying for this meal and leftovers can always be carried out." He advised as he watched the waitress walk away, the lightning woman peeking back towards them one final time before disappearing into the back. "So Zoraida, right?" Cyril quirked an eyebrow as he settled back and took a sip of his drink, savoring the rich flavor. "What brings you to Belrea?" They may as well make some casual talk so that he could appease the others by providing some story about this date with the pretty foreigner.

His answer satisfied her need to not be wasteful. It did make sense, it would give her some late night snacks for after she finished dancing. She was actually a little surprised that he remembered her name and nodded. "As you know...I'm pretty klutzy. So my parents tended to always treat me with kid gloves as if I were a clay pot, not yet fired. I decided to leave home to find my 'kiln' so to speak. I wanted to be on my own and the draw of Belrea with your mechanical advancements was hard to pass up. I hoped to learn as much as I could about Belrean dance in hopes of one day learning how to dance them or at least teach them to dancers far better than me." It was the honest truth and while it left her feeling a bit raw, she'd rather be forthcoming when it came to herself. What did she have to hide, anyway? She was a tall, awkward hybrid and she would need to be a bit more bold to chase her dreams....at least that's what she told herself at night.

"Ah, sounds like you should be visiting the entertainment sector and one of the performance halls then." Advised Cyril with a thoughtful nod, taking another sip of wine as he thought about it. "They have open classes on certain week mornings, not always but enough to give you a taste of Belrean dance." He was quite proud of Belrea so it only made sense that others would be attracted to the country, but he did have to admit that he never thought dance would be a reason for someone to come all this way. He thought overseas had quite a variety of dancing and arts as well, but then again they were probably different from the ones here.
"I'm not an expert on dance and have a bit to learn about other countries as well, but I would suggest starting there." He mused quietly. "I learned some dancing that way for my performances since I dance with fire blades for the troupe."

"Oohh..." She sort of wished she had a map on her now, or at least a book of paper that she could make notes in. "Entertainment sector, got it. I will definitely have to check that out. I hope someday to know at least a little bit from everywhere. Though, I'm not sure it's possible. I definitely wouldn't dare to do anything like what you do." Zora could only imagine severely injuring herself or someone else if she actually tried to even learn how to use a weapon. "You're very brave for choosing that style of dance." She added. "Do you plan on visiting other places or do you plan to focus on your own style?" There was something to say about those who dedicated themselves to one style.

"I'm a performer so I like to keep expanding my knowledge." Replied Cyril with a small smile. "I do a bit of everything, but fire dancing is my preferred performance." He admitted with a small nod, his expression thoughtful as the server started placing appetizers on the table in front of them. "I have been thinking of going overseas, it would be nice to have some sort of guidance when I do arrive. I plan on visiting Yael and then once my business there is finished I will be returning to Belrea."
"If you're wanting to learn a little of everything then I do recommend checking out performances as well. Not only can you find teachers in the cities, but you can also watch shows and get a sense of the style." Cyril explained as he poked a fork into what looked like a folded cheese tart with fried onions, a savory appetizer.

Zoraida nodded her head as he spoke, it all made sense really. "I thought about going to Yael first, actually. But the draw of riding on one of the airships was far greater than just a regular ol' ship in the water." She smiled back at him before taking a sip of her wine, it was fantastic! Her eyes roamed over the various appetizers that were being placed on their table. She grabbed a couple pieces of fruit as well as some rolls that were still warm from the oven. "I'll take any recommendations you can give." She stated. A lot of the teachers near where she grew up had gotten tired of her klutzy ways and refused to try and teach her anymore. She figured that if Cyril actually knew how clumsy she actually was he might not be suggesting all this stuff to her. "If nothing else, I can try and get you some maps or help you secure some passage to at least Matori." She could do at least that much for him with how kind he was being in this.

"I see." Cyril nodded as he took another drink of wine to wash down the last appetizer he had sampled. "Well those are the best to start with. I won't be leaving the country for another few weeks, but if you did want to provide information or happen to be returning within that timeframe I could use some advice." It was like a trade of ideas, of figuring out things about his country while she shared what she knew about the other continent. So perhaps today wasn't such a waste, the date being actually helpful and the company not unpleasant. Cyril relaxed a bit more, taking the time to actually enjoy the appetizers and the platters that would soon follow before leaving Zoraida with his information should she wish to find him with the troupe.

"Mmhmm." She agreed as she continued sampling the appetizers. "I have no set travel plans, I've just sort of been going where ever my heart, or more often my feet, leads me. I would be interested in possibly both providing information and returning with you, especially if I had a few weeks to explore this entertainment sector you've told me about." She smiled at him and returned to her food. Zoraida would get his information later and work out a plan on when to meet and what not if needed. Even though this wasn't what she had expected, it had turned out rather nice! [zoraida 7]
