Briallen had been away for months to travel the other countries, the young Alkidike warrior acting more like a treasure hunter as she explored the earthling lands and discovered rare artifacts and the like. While she knew one of her mothers adored the stories she came back with, Briallen still wasn't quite certain how Vermina felt about things. So as soon as Briallen found a contraption in Belrea that would allow her to share a bit of her experiences at home with her mother she didn't hesitate to buy it. I truly hope she has fun today. Briallen smiled as she held up the wooden box, twisting it back and forth to study it. She had used it a couple of times before and had checked out the areas near their home in Chiume to see which stream had the best chance of rare gemstones. She truly hoped that this was a good spot and that her mother had fun with her treasure hunting today.

2 - 10: Something Shiny That looks promising... Use the second roll to calculate your results. Golden Treasure! Gold, and a good amount! It's not a bar or anything, but you could use it to make some jewelry.
As she headed for the stream, Vermina felt her excitement rising. Treasure hunting itself was fun, but she was more delighted to be able to spend time with her daughter. Both Alkidike girls were constantly off exploring the rest of the world and she missed them dearly! Faenna was still off on her own, but Briallen was back for a while. She wanted to be able to make the most of this time together.
When she saw her daughter looking at a box, she paused and cocked her head. "What is in that?" She asked as she approached.

A warm smile crossed Briallen's lips as Vermina approached. The young traveler simply adored both of her mothers and it was nice visiting home so she truly was excited to spend time with her family. "Nothing...yet." She replied teasingly as she turned the box so that Vermina could see the inside which was basically just a thin wire mesh. "It's a contraption used by some treasure hunters. They use it to gather rare minerals and gemstones from the silt at the bottom of water like this stream. I'm hoping we can find something here." Her gaze was bright as she explained the contraption, Briallen's antenna even twitching happily as she discussed something that she obviously loved doing. Finding treasures, uncovering secrets of the ancient world and the like were all things that she thrived on and what kept her exploring even when she missed her family and home.
"I can demonstrate if you'd like?" She studied her mother with a small grin. "Or would you want to try first? Either way you'll be getting your hands wet today."

A box to gather items? She could see using it to hold items already found, but this? She touched a hand to the box to look at what she was being shown. "Oh! It's like the sifter for baking," she observed. She looked down at the soft earth under her feet and back at the box. "Why don't you demonstrate it for me first?" she requested. She figured she understood the process, but it would be better to be shown first. "And don't you worry. I don't mind a little manual labor. My hands will be fine."

A chuckle escaped Briallen's lips. "Yes, it is like one of those." She admitted even though she hadn't really thought of that. Mostly because she rarely baked since that truly wasn't her forte but she did see the connection now that she thought about it. Briallen nodded in response to her mother's question before wading further into the stream, the water coming up to her waist as she approached the center. "Gotcha. I just didn't know if you wanted to get your clothing wet. I should have said something." She mentioned lightly, a mix of an apology and a tease at the same time.
"So you just dig into the bottom of the stream and grab as much silt as possible." Briallen explained as she went through the motions and brought up a load of silt in the box. The Alkidike splashed back towards her mother and held up the contraption, shaking it slightly. "Gently move it back and forth so that all the dirt and what not shakes through and leaves behind the minerals." Her expression brightened as she worked slowly so that Vermina could follow her movements. There was a gleam in the dirt and soon enough she could see the flecks of gold! "Looks like I hit something." Briallen gushed with a grin as she carefully picked up the piece of gold and showed her mother.

Vermina smirked and nodded. "A little water never hurt anyone." She followed Briallen into the water to watch the process. It seemed simple enough, but would they really find anything out here? Surely there was nothing more than a few stones to be found.
Then Briallen got excited! Vermina leaned forward to look, brow rising with surprise. "Really? Nice work." Who would have thought? Well, apparently, Briallen had thought! She laughed lightly and nudged her daughter's arm with a playful tease. "You didn't plant those ahead of time, did you?"

"I'll remember that next flood season." Teased Briallen as she worked, the Alkidike actually not minding the water. Since traveling she found she had an affinity for it and honestly enjoyed swimming and staring at the ocean in the morning and evenings whenever she stayed along the coast. It was nice and relaxing, a constant reminder of how vast the world truly was. The stream of course was just a small amount of water in comparison but it was still refreshing against her skin on a hot day like this.
A chuckle escaped Briallen as she looked towards her mother, her lips twitching into an amused grin. "That would have been an awful lot of work. I should have thought of it though since I would have been far less nervous!" She quipped back before nudging her mother lightly in return and handing over the contraption. "Alright, you saw me do it so now it's your turn." She pocketed her own finding, determined to use it later to buy something nice for her family when she went to Belrea next.

"I said a little water." If anything, water was an integral part of life, and not just with the need to drink it. She could remember a few private swims with Danika in their early years... Perhaps it was time for another dip~
Vermina sighed with a playful smile. "Here I am, giving you bad ideas." She accepted the box and looked for another spot to sift through. She would leave that spot for Briallen to search further, since she had found it first.
After a few steps upstream, she knelt down and scooped in a good portion of earth. A few larger stones that wouldn't sift through, and... her eyes widened with disbelief. "Well, you sure know how to pick a spot, Briallen" she praised, plucking up the bit of gold from the screen. "Looks like I got lucky, as well."

"Bad ideas? More like wonderful ones." Teased Briallen as she watched her mother using the sifter. Whenever Vermina came back with more pieces of gold she couldn't resist smiling and applauding her mother's efforts. "Nice! I think we definitely got lucky today! If only we could play some cards with earthlings next or whatever game of fortune we can find." That one was most definitely a tease but she had learned some card games while traveling across the earthling countries, it was strange how games with tiny pieces of paper could earn or lose someone so much coin but such was life. Briallen just attested it to the product of earthling boredom. There were some traditional Aishan games as well but she personally had never placed bets upon them. Today though seemed to be lucky enough that it would have been tempting if someone had offered a chance to Briallen. Still, it was better to just appreciate whatever they found today and use it for gifts or the like.
"If we find a lot are you planning on preparing gifts for everyone? We should share our good fortune, right?" Asked Briallen as she looked at Vermina. "Maybe some hunting knives or something for around the house?"

Vermina looked at Briallen with surprise before letting out an amused snort. "I will risk my run of luck with further digging here rather than with any games of chance. I would like to keep what I've found so far." She tucked the gold into the pack and her side and bent for another scoop of earth. This one revealed nothing but regular stones, so she took it back to Briallen for another turn as well.
"Oh, most certainly." She crossed her arms contemplatively. "Actually, I was thinking along the lines of making little charms for each of you." Something she could personalize without requiring too much more than what she had already found. "You could certainly make a fine decoration to spruce up a new blade handle. Or craft it with a container to hold belongings."

Briallen grinned with amusement at her mother's reaction. "I suppose that's the smarter option." She joked lightly before taking her turn with the sifter bringing up one final piece of gold before only finding more dirt. Her lips pursed slightly as she surveyed the area before giving a small shrug and holding the sifter out in case her mother wanted to take it from her to try again. "I think we've reached our luck's limit. It was still a good haul though for something so close to home." Much better than having to travel across the ocean for some treasure!
"Charms?" Briallen tilted her head with curiosity before nodding, her expression brightening as she pondered the idea. "That would be lovely!" She admitted after a moment. "I could keep it as a little decoration for my clothing or something so that it's always close. I would love a little reminder of home that I could share with my family." She did miss them when traveling and it would be wonderful to have something that she could keep close to her heart that represented her connection to their family.

With a shrug that echoed the younger's, Vermina took the sifter back and dropped to scoop up some more earth. "I'm sure our luck has passed, but maybe I'll find something to use in addition to the gold."
She looked up as Briallen's voice brightened so cheerfully. Her cheeks flushed slightly with contentment, gaze lowering bashfully to the sifter. "I'm glad to hear it. Perhaps that is what I will do then." Something where the charms where similar in shape but with different, unique designs. "Yup, no gold. I'll try a few more times to see about any pretty stones or shells."

Briallen nodded her agreement. "That's fair. I'll leave the contraption with you so if you're ever in the mood to try again you can. Treasure hunting can be fun in any form so I hope this was fun." She advised with a small smile. "Maybe my younger sisters will even be interested in playing with it." There were plenty of streams throughout the isle and near Belrea after all. They could even try the cove though Briallen figured it would be mostly shells unless someone learned how to go deep diving, but even that would require something more than the little box she had brought today. She had a variety of tools for digging throughout the ruins she had explored so far and other tools just for staying underwater for a period of time, using hollowed out reeds and the like to explore the coast where she was not confident in swimming too far out just yet. Mostly Briallen enjoyed exploring the deeper jungles and spent her a majority of the recent years on the main continent near Jahaur especially for that reason.
"I'll cherish it if you do." Promised Briallen as she watched her mother search the water a few more times with the sifter. "If you find any of those rocks that have the silver and blue flecks in them I would love one." She liked how the water had smoothed them down over time and would often rub it between her fingers whenever pondering a puzzle or trying to write anything, the young warrior often finding it hard to sit still without fidgeting with something.

"Oh, I'm sure Seiong would love this. Odina might need a little convincing, but I think she would enjoy it as well." Exploring the wilds was always fun.. and this seemed a less dangerous activity for her clumsy daughter to enjoy. Honestly, it was amazing Seiong had yet to seriously injure herself.
"Silver and blue flecks," she murmured with a smirk. Well, now she couldn't rest until she found one of those specific stones. Whatever she found for the charms, she would have to make certain they were treasures worthy of the treasures that made up her family.
