She growled low under her breath as she stopped in her tracks seeing a young zebra falling off from the rest of the herd. Maybe it was sick because it wasn’t that old. Maybe a few weeks if that. She usually liked a challenge, but today she didn’t even care. She needed food and she didn’t feel like battling with a full adult zebra. So, she lowered herself to the ground and watched as it drifted further from the rest. That is when she made her move.
She bolted for the young zebra, and it didn’t take her long to catch up. When she did, she tackled it down to the ground ending its life within minutes. She didn’t have much time because scavengers always loved to come out of nowhere.
So, she made little work of the young zebra before wandering a little bit away and taking a rest. Annoyance was written all over her face because this was getting tiresome. She didn’t mind being on her own, but after being in a pride, even if it wasn’t for long, she felt like she was spoiled. Spoiled to have others around her. Maybe she liked company more then she let on.
With a disgruntled huff, she looked around once more wondering what her next move should be.
