Love is in the air and it is exhausting. It seems everyone is so excited to meet someone new and see if they 'click'. To the point where this new trend has spread across Tendaji - Blind Dates.

The concept is pretty simple - you have a friend (or a matchmaker) set up a date with someone you've never met before. Some find this exhilarating - a chance to go beyond the same old and meet someone new. But others see this as unnecessary anxiety forced upon them by their friends or society's pressure.

Either way, you find yourself set up on a date not of your choosing, with a stranger who you've never met before. This could either be the person of your dreams...or a big mistake. Guess the only thing you can do is see where this date takes you.

---

For those who are already in a relationship, it's hard to host a 'blind date', but you can get close. It's time to surprise your significant other with a night date, just the two of you. No family, no children, just a chance to spend time with the one you love.

[ It's date night! This prompt should include a date with a stranger, either set up by your friends or by a matchmaker. If you're RPing your character with another, we ask that it be someone new (within reason to where your character is currently located). If you're RPing alone, create a new NPC and see where the night takes you.

Who knows, maybe this will be your character's future partner...or maybe an awkward enemy. What's the harm in the name of love?

For those who have characters already in a relationship, we're instead looking for a "Surprise Date" where one of the partners surprises the other with ad ate experience. ]

It was the perfect little grotto. Faisal had found the area of beach while on vacation with his family years ago and he was eager to share it with Sariza. The young noble had worked hard throughout the last two days to prepare everything - the small wooden kayaks with colorful designs painted on from a local artisan were resting on the beach along with a traveling pack of supplies for today's trip. The pair were taking a break from the manor while the children rested and Faisal wanted to make the outing as relaxing as possible. This was a day to not worry about duties or anything stressful, it was simply time to enjoy each other's company which had been denied to them the past few months.

Now he was waiting along the beach, his casual attire a lot less decorative and more revealing than his typical silken wear whenever they were in Sulburi. Faisal's open tunic fluttered around his toned chest, the sea breeze a refreshing respite from the heat of the summer sun. Even though Matori was a lot more forgiving than the desert heat the coastal region could get scorching if one lingered too long on the beaches during the day. Said heat was already showing itself despite the early hours of the morning as Faisal moved to start putting everything in place as he waited on Sariza to join him.

There was a time in Sariza's life where she would have been far too reserved to contemplate showing as much skin as she was.

That was long before the assassinations, the birth of her sons, her ascension into both nobility and Oban militant command...

No long was she self conscious of the muscular expanse of her back. Instead, Sariza bore it and her scars with pride. She pulled her hair back, tied the top of her haltered sundress and looked at herself in a passing mirror. There was no denying who she was, but she couldn't find it in her to care. So, instead of hiding away, she smiled and went out to meet her husband.

The wind that skirted across her bare skin met with the shivers that ran across it at the sight of her husband. He looked absolutely dashing with his open, billowing shirt....Like some sort of hero from those novels she would occasionally find in the servant's alcoves. Calm yourself, girl, or you'll spend another summer with a baby in your belly.

And yet...

"Can I help with anything?"

Faisal had been focused on tucking the waterproof leather satchels into the kayaks, his fingers expertly tying knots in slender ropes meant to keep the bags in place while they explored the coast, but when he heard Sariza's voice the man paused. A slow smile curved across Faisal's lips as he glanced up towards his wife, his gaze brightening as he watched her approaching. "If I answer with the first thing on my mind then we won't make it far exploring today. I was a fool if I thought our trip's destination would be the loveliest thing today." He teased as he finally straightened up and took a step away from the kayak. While others may have been a bit more reserved or wary of an arranged marriage with someone who was obviously a warrior, Faisal was absolutely in love with the woman before him and thought everything about her was beautiful. Everything that had happened had only deepened their bond and it truly was hard not to be distracted by Sariza in the current moment.

Faisal could only let out a soft sigh as he walked up to Sariza with oars in his hand. It was best to keep something in his fingers least they roam after all. The very thought almost brought another sigh to his lips as he offered the oars to his wife. "Everything is prepared if you're ready to explore." He stated as he prepared to hand over the oars and lead Sariza to her kayak. "Once you get settled I can help push you into the water. Any questions or concerns?"

Despite the years of courting at this point and the birth of two sons, Sariza couldn't help feeling her cheeks warm. For a moment her eyes widened and she looked down, suddenly overcome with embarrassment even as a little smile tugged at her lips. "You're too much." He really didn't know when to quit, did he? To Faisal words like that came as easy as breathing air and she envied him for that. If she were to do it she would have just tripped over saying them and made a mess.

Still, she didn't stay bashfully reposed for long and eventually pulled her gaze back up to the kayaks. Admittedly they were...daunting, to say the least. What few times they'd been on the water had been in bigger boats and beyond that exposure she'd never been. Taking the oars, she hesitantly looked between the much smaller vessels and her husband. "Just...Are you sure I won't flip? I'm not light..." Still, she gingerly moved toward the kayak and settled herself in. The moment it started to wobble Sariza grabbed for the edges and held on tight. In reality it was just balancing itself, but to her it was a premonition.

Faisal simply smirked at Sariza, his gaze gleaming as he noticed the faint flush on his wife's cheeks. It was always worth it to see the types of reactions he received whenever he complimented her. If only he didn't have to focus on actually helping them to get out into the cove! Faisal chuckled softly at the thought before watching Sariza approach the kayak. "It'll be fine." He promised with a small smile. "If anything it just means we'll go swimming earlier." He couldn't help teasing even as he waded towards Sariza to make certain she was properly in the kayak, his calves covered in water as he inspect the vessel a final time.

"Just let it tilt a little, don't try to fight it and gently lean if you feel like its too much on one side." Faisal commented after making certain there were no leaks or the like. "Fighting against some wobbling will be the biggest mistake when it comes to keep balance. Just let the water help carry you as you move the oar like this." He posed with his own oar and made the motions before slowly taking a step away from Sariza. "I'm going to push, don't panic." He reached forward and gave a gentle shove on the kayak, watching as the water started to carry his wife forward towards the cove. After waiting a moment to see what potential disaster could unfold, Faisal decided it was time to slip into his own kayak. Thankfully he had years of experience from visiting Matori and Jatine as a teen that Faisal quickly pushed away from the shoreline and joined Sariza's side. "How fares the vessel, captain?" He teased lightly as he glanced about. Thankfully the waves were calmer today with less wind though that meant the heat could be overbearing if they didn't get to the spot soon. The cove would have some trees hanging with long limbs, the vivid pink and purple leaves decorating an area with a waterfall that fell from a stream in the cliffs above. That was the direction that Faisal would guide them once he knew that Sariza was able to keep up with his own paddling, something that he did now as he carefully skirted around her kayak to get in front.

"You know I can't swim, right?" It was meant to be teasing, but there was an undercurrent of worry there. Whenever they splashed around on the beach or in some of the deeper baths back home she could always touch the bottom. More often than not his arms were somewhere close too, and she never worried. Out here, though...

Still, like everything else in life that gave her pause, Sariza met it head on. If Faisal thought her life was in danger he wouldn't be this excited (at least she hoped), so she tried her best to see it through his eyes.

Don't panic? As if she would do anything else!

Holding her oar in a death grip, Sariza couldn't help letting out a strangled squeal as she was pushed off. When it wasn't immediately evident that she was going to die, Sariza dipped her oar into the water, just as he'd shown her and tried to stabilize herself. It wasn't pretty, and she turned into a little circle at first, but eventually she more or less got it.

"If the goal is to make the most circles I'll have you beat in no time." She laughed a little, mostly to alleviate nerves, but thankfully it came to a slow stop.

"Lead the way, Admiral."

Faisal's gaze narrowed with concern but the hybrid simply took a deep, calming breath as that key factor had somehow slipped his mind in the chaos of preparations. "I'll be here so no worries. If something bad happens just reach out and hold onto the boat or oar, it'll help keep you afloat and I'll pull you to the shore." He was confident and thankful that they weren't going out to the deep ocean, that much he refused to do until he could maybe convince Sariza to let him try to help her learn how to swim. Or they could construct something that would help her to float at least, like those smaller boards that he saw some locals and visitors using whenever their children went to play in the waves.

A laugh escaped his lips. "I'll concede and name you queen of circles." He teased as he settled into moving his own kayak alongside of Sariza, keeping just enough distance to avoid her paddling. "We're just going to stay along the coast and take a smaller route through the islands." There was a little tunnel of water cutting through a smaller inlet and it was there that Faisal would lead Sariza. "It's going to get narrow so just do your best to try to stay in the center, worst case you'll snag the shore and we'll just push you off again." After a bit the sandy beaches turned into a rockier area, the cliffs rising above them and casting long shadows across the island as the morning sun was blocked by foliage and stone. The few areas that the sunlight hit sparkled and eventually they came towards something that was almost akin to a tunnel, a natural bridge that arched across them. Faisal took a moment to glance over his shoulder, a grin on his lips as he checked on his wife. "Holding up okay?" He called out though he had been keeping an eye on her the entire trip so far, the hybrid trying his best not to express his worry as they navigated the coast. The sparkling ocean was behind them but now that they were at the tunnel the pair could go through and see the sparkling drops of condensation along the inside of the rock formation, the outside world silenced save for the gentle dripping of water here and there. Thankfully it was a short enough tunnel so that sunlight still guided them towards the other opening, the water starting to gleam once more as Faisal guided them forward. He would stop his kayak at some points and reach out to nudge the front of Sariza's away from some rocks here and there, nothing too major as to avoid accidentally tipping her and eventually they would be greeted by sun as the narrow passage opened up into a larger cove with waterfalls and a sandy beach to greet them.

"And this is my spot." Faisal called out as he started hearing the sound of rushing water, the waterfalls rushing down from the cliffside above. "Just around this corner now." Once he knew Sariza made it safely through he would be ready to pull his own kayak to the shore and help her out. They could picnic here before exploring more if she felt comfortable after this initial voyage along the coast.

"Queen of Circles indeed." Sariza pursed her lips and did her best to steady the kayak. She'd been plenty a youth race in these, heedless of how close they came to flipping over, every time they came to Matori. Still she'd never really thought of how much work went into it and now she found herself wondering why she ever let her sons in one of these.

Ah, yes, because their father was determine to kill her.

At the very least she had the constitution to make rowing for prolonged periods of time easier and the strength to keep moving. It was a pleasant work out, one that led her to places she'd never seen before, and soon enough her fear started to ebb into a healthy caution tinging on curiosity.

The open sea air pulled her dreads off the back of her neck and the sensation of wind against her shaved head was soothing.

"Ever beside you, King of Tunnels." Sariza cocked a wry grin, and followed him. She didn't want her growing unease to be too apparent, but she had a harder time of hiding it now that they were here. If she tipped or fell now...Well, would he be able to get to her? Just one row at a time.

"It's beautiful." And she meant it. Nervous as she felt, there wasn't any one specific point that Sariza could focus on; it was all just too magnificent. It was almost like seeing the estates garden for the first time all over again.

"What titles to bestow upon us." Chuckled Faisal. "I wonder what that bodes for our children then." Would they have straight paths or be stuck tunneling about in circles? His gaze gleamed with amusement as they finally reached the destination, the flickering sunlight a welcome relief from the tunnel. As short as it was the presence of a tunnel gave him chills because of the darkness encompassing him. Even though they had emerged victorious in the end there were still some moments where the past clung to him, the dangers in the shadows triggering a moment of fear before Faisal pushed forward back into the present.

"I'm glad you think so." Faisal offered Sariza a bright smile. He had to be brave for her especially in this situation where she was so out of her element and the hybrid was so proud that she had endured this with him. Truly he was fortunate. "The water is shallow along the edges here, not too much of the coast fills up save for the heavier rain season and high tide. We have several hours before we need to worry about the tide coming in." Faisal paddled past Sariza and gestured with a nod towards the shore. "You got this. The water further in should only come up to your chest at the most." They could dock along the sands, something that Faisal did after a careful moment of studying the depths just to make certain he wasn't lying, and once he pulled his kayak up the hybrid prepared to help Sariza out of her own kayak so that they could explore the little cove together.

"Calix will be some sort of Prince and Qaisan will attach a rope to his kayak so he can nap." Sariza said in a very point blank, dry tone. She loved her sons, truly she did, but not even Faisal could get under skin like Qaisan could. There were some days where she wanted to ring his neck, but that was frowned on in 'polite' society.

"Oh, is that right?" Oh good, she'd completely forgotten about the possibility of the tide rolling in until now. So kind of her husband to remind her. And now he wanted her to get out of the kayak...into the water...in a cavern.

Sariza pursed her lips and let out a slow, measured exhale.

She waited patiently for him to disembark, just to make sure he wasn't full of it, and when he managed she started to follow. Getting out wasn't...entirely the most graceful thing she'd ever done. Sariza tried to follow his movements, but she was far too nervous and her limbs were locked so she took a tumble into the shallows.

Thankfully Faisal was close and she grabbed hold of him before her body fell into the water. Her knees and below were soaked, but beyond that she was okay. If one could overlook the way her eyes resembled a frightened does and the little tremor in her arms.

Faisal let out a laugh. While Qaisan got under Sariza's skin, Faisal found it more amusing and just hoped that it was something he would eventually grow out of with more time. "That sounds completely accurate." He admitted as he couldn't help chuckling at the image of how his sons would do exactly that. Though perhaps Calix would get tired at one point and tip Qaisan over just to see him actually do anything, as long as he was confident in his brother's ability to swim. That much Faisal definitely could imagine since it was similar to what he would have done to his own twin in the past.

Faisal held tightly onto Sariza, his gaze warm as he watched her. "It's okay." He murmured softly, placing a gentle kiss against her neck as he helped her onto the shore. "I won't let anything happen." He promised before freeing one arm so that he could grab the picnic basket. "Now that we're here we can just wander around and have a light lunch together." Faisal smiled towards Sariza. "We're done with the water for now, promise." The water levels would be fine with a clear sky and no rains for the past week, something Faisal had made certain to keep an eye on before deciding on today's trip. He was confident that the water level wouldn't be changing until later in the evening when they should be well on their way back towards their family manor on the other side of the coast.

"This way. There's three weeping trees just ahead where I can set up a blanket and we can just enjoy the peace." Purple and pinkish crystal leaves hung down trees whose branches tilted towards the ground, the soft white sand beneath them having a few sprouts of bluish-green plants as the cove mixed with softer grasses the further in they walked.

Sariza wholeheartedly believed him. If Faisal said that she would be fine then she would be, and for that reason alone she felt her spirit lighten. "I'm actually a little jealous that you got to explore places like this when you were growing up." While she'd been able to get out of Sulburi a time or two it was never very far and always to sanctioned military bases. Now that she knew the reason for her seclusion it made complete sense, but as a child she'd always dreamed of more.

As unnerving as the open water was, being in this cave and feeling the cool sea breeze ghosting across her shoulders had a calming effect on the woman. She could just picture a little Faisal with his brother, running amuck and exploring every little hiding spot the cavern had to offer.

"Oh Faisal....I've never even heard of trees like that before. They're gorgeous."

Faisal's gaze gleamed with amusement. "I suppose it's never too late to make up for that." He promised Sariza with a small smile. "If you'd like to try exploring I can always free up my calendar a bit more." Even if he was working hard as the head of the household the man would always try to find time for his family, especially his dear wife. Now that things were mostly peaceful again he was hoping that would be a lot easier to achieve. Even Sulburi seemed to be quiet lately with no rumors of war or any tensions on the horizon for the first time in decades. There had been enough, including his own losses, and so Faisal was thankful and hopeful that this peace would linger so that their family could heal and grow.

"They're honestly my favorite but even these won't grow easily in Oba. There's simply not enough water to sustain them unfortunately." He mused quietly as he started spreading out the blanket and arranging everything for their little picnic under the trees. "There's a Matori myth that says the trees represent an unknown spirit who fell in love with Ubeli'ae and touched her heart. Drach'ti was too jealous and struck the spirit down while Kiyom had mercy on the spirit and turned them into a tree that was forever connected with a source of water, the weeping willow's branches forever reaching down just for the chance to touch Ubeli'ae once more." Faisal paused thoughtfully. "Or for those fond of sorrow, the drooping branches are the sorrow of the tree as it cries for Ubeli'ae."

"Well on that heart breaking note, lunch is served." Faisal sat down on the blanket and patted a spot next to him for Sariza to join him. "I'm just thankful that I can touch my love. As lovely as the weeping willows are I do not believe I could endure that pain for an eternity."

"That's awful." Sariza did her best to help set up the picnic, but her eyes kept trailing up to the tree above them. "It's a lovely tale, but a heartbreaking one." While it may not have ended as favorably for the spirit, she liked to think the lore behind such a tree added to the romantic atmosphere around them. Had she not already been head over heels for Faisal then Sariza might have fallen into his trap all over again.

She sat next to him, but not before crouching down to give her husband a quick kiss. "You'll just have to live the way they can't and give them tales of your own to pass the time." A lifetime without being able to comfort her husband or to spend the evening with him? Sometimes all it took to raise her mood was to see his face in a crowd so Sariza could only imagine what being away from him for an eternity would feel like.

Thankfully, she would never have to know that pain
