For the seasoned treasure hunters, it's a bit laughable to think it's just that easy to go and get rich, but they can appreciate the enjoyment many are getting from wading into the rivers and streams, sifting through stone, and occasionally pulling up a precious treasure to call their own.
But how easy is it, really? And are you lucky enough to strike gold?
[ IThis event prompt includes an extra step - you will need to roll a dice and react to the result. Will you be lucky enough to find something precious? Or just come up with a few rocks and cold feet?
Only the gods of luck will know - but fortune always favored the bold. So head on over to your local body of water, bring a sifting tool that many have claimed works like a charm, and see what comes up with this hot new craze. ]

The fridged air was all abuzz in Zena. Seems that word of treasure had reached the far north and possibly even further. There was little knowing how far it would go. All around other Ice and Ice hybrids were bustling, trying to get tools and other things to go hunting. A young man whom stood near the door of one of the local inns. Deep blue eyes watching those running around before shaking his head and looking towards the beast that sat beside him.
"The way they are all acting, they seem to be running around like chickens with their heads lopped off." The young man said that caused the beast to merely huff.
Draven, as the young man was named, patted the Janarim before heading into the inn to acquire a room for the night. Even inside people were gossiping in the corners. Some in groups of three to four, planning on where they were going to search. This perked even Draven's interest as he walked to the counter. Stopping there he looked at those hovering over a map that laid over one end of the counter.
'Hello there young man, something I can help you with?' the innkeeper asked as he broke off from those on the end of the counter.
"Are there any rooms available for tonight?" Draven asked as he looked back to the others. "What is all the buzz about? I had heard something of treasure, but it just seems too farfetched to be a real thing."
The innkeeper gave a small laugh as Draven looked back towards him. 'There are the rumors, there's also been some that have come back from the local river with gemstones and small gold flecks. So there might be some truth to it.' he answer before getting down to business. 'Just a room for tonight? I have one single bed room left for 2 coins.'
Draven, momentarily forgetting about the room request to think of the treasure. He had almost not heard the innkeeper mention the room and its cost. "I'll take the room, might I be able to add a couple more days though?"
The innkeeper gave another laugh, this one louder then the last. 'Got it in your mind to seek out said treasure, have ye? So be it, I will give you a discount. Three nights for 4coins.' Draven counted out the coins and handed them over in exchange for the key to his room. 'Good luck out there and I hope you strike it big.'
Draven gave a wave to the innkeeper before tucking the key away into his pocket. Draven exited the inn and back over to the Janarim that awaited him. "Come on Regale, we're going to take a trip to this river they are finding things in." Draven said as he hauled himself up onto the Janarim's back.
Regale gave another huff as he took to his feet after his master was settled. Turning to walk down the street they exited quickly and back out into the wilderness of Zena. There were many others traveling, some carrying shovels and picks. Some had other items for hunting gold and other bits of treasure. Draven could only shake his head as they followed the throng of people. When they reached the river bank it was clear that everyone was going crazy. Some finding things, other coming up empty handed. Not many paid any mind to their neighbors or their things much less to large creatures moving about trying to survive.
"Lets find a more quiet spot. It is too crowded here." Draven muttered to Regale who was ready to tear into someone who was trying to push past them. Someone did get his tail against their back as they passed behind him. Regale was one who hated people close to his backend.
Moving along the river side and down stream, away from the rest of those that crowded banks. The further they went the quieter it became that it almost seemed they walked out of a dream and was surrounded with the chirping of birds. This seemed like a good enough spot, turning Regale a bit they entered the icy water. Just the shallows that came up to Regale's ankles, but it was enough to see if they could find anything.
It didn't take too long to find something, they had been wading through the shallows for maybe only a few minutes before something sparkled just under the water. Draven stopped regale before slipping off his back and into the water, the icy stuff splashing up his legs and making him shiver. Shaking his head he crouched down a little and reached into the water to pick out a strange gemstone that he didn't ever remember seeing. Not that he knew anything about gems...
"Well, whatta know. There is some truth to this treasure stuff. While this probably won't be much, it might make something." he stowed the small bits into a small pocket in his saddlebags. "Lets see if we can't find more."
Remounting Regale they walked a while longer, Draven finding a couple smaller gemstones here and there before he thought they had enough. There was no need to be greedy after all. Take all the splendor out of nature and there would be no beauty let to enjoy. With this, Draven and Regale headed back towards town and the inn, upon leaving Regale in the local stable. Given a large meaty bone to help keep him entertained. Draven headed into the inn saddle bags over his shoulder.
'Find anything lad?' called the innkeeper.
"Sure did! Might not be much, but I might be able to make something out of them." Draven gave a smile before fishing out one of the smaller gemstones. "Here, you can have a couple. In case you are unable to get out and search yourself."
He didn't wait for a reaction from the innkeeper, he headed to his room. There Draven dropped the saddlebags to the floor and flop on the bed. Even though it hadn't been that long of a day, it was sure an exhausting one with all the excitement in the air.
