Akaganeite considered herself a dedicated officer. It did not exactly give her pleasure, draining energy from civilians, but it was part of her job, and so she did it. It was always easier to choose one, and drain them, when she had to get up close and personal; as the young woman she was draining swooned in her arms, she sighed.
"I am sorry," she said, and she carefully carried the woman to a nearby park bench. At least she was dressed for the warming weather, and once Kaga was far enough away, she would call a local shelter and hopefully get someone to come check on the poor woman, "sleeping" on a "park bench."
"You must be more careful who you trust," Kaga warned her unconscious victim as she gently set her down. "You never know who might be out there."

"You really don't," Hati said, stepping forward from the shadows. He'd sensed the aura of the Lieutenant and had hurried as well as he could have, but he'd still gotten there a bit too late to stop her from snatching the energy away from the poor woman. Damn it.
He shifted his feet into a fighting stance, eyes narrowed at her. "Maybe you should watch your surroundings a bit more," he suggested.
An interloper. Of course. Kaga heaved a heavy sigh, and she turned around, unsheathing her bokken from the carrier on her back. The stance she shifted into with ease demonstrated familiarity with her weapon; it might not have edges, but she was ready to make an effort to do harm with it.
"Must you make my evening more complicated?" She asked, and there was a hint of frustration in her voice. "She is not harmed. She will regain the energy by resting, and you will not recover it from me. You can turn around and walk away, and we do not have to fight."
Perhaps deescalation would actually work, though she had a feeling it probably would not.

"I could," he agreed, even thinking it over for a moment. Because he didn't enjoy fighting.
But he'd watched her take the woman's energy, unable to stop her, but maybe some fighting would make her think twice about it.
"But I won't," he finally said after his long pause. "Moor Stalk."
A deafening silence settles over everyone within a ten foot radius. Shortly after the silence falls, a single, deep bark echoes through the area, and suddenly every enemy within the radius feels like they are being watched by a large, dangerous creature. The silence can be disorienting; no matter how loud anything is, while the magic is in effect they cannot hear anything but the bark--and maybe the sound of something heavy breathing just behind them. Paranoia, anxiety and fear for the invisible thread are prominent for the duration of the magic, and may persist for longer if the player desires. This attack affects all enemies within ten feet and lasts for twenty five seconds; it can be used three time per battle.
The way he said "I could," already had Akaganeite on guard. It did not sound like the "I could" of a man who was genuinely thinking of backing down.
So she was ready for a physical blow--but there was little she could do to prepare against magic.
It was silent, suddenly, and Akaganeite could no longer even hear her own breathing. But she knew--there was something watching her. A monster. A predator.
She narrowed her eyes. She did not need to hear to strike, and she knew what she could see--the Senshi before her. So although fear crawled up her spine, although she swore the predator was right at her back, she leapt for the threat before her eyes, swinging her bokken for his gut.

Hati's eyes traced her bokken, watching for the way she was swinging it, which hand it was in. He twirled to his left, stepping into the blow to catch it in his side on purpose, then made a grab for the bokken with the intention to yank it from her hands, or break it, or something. Whatever it took to get it away from her.
"Don't you think that's a little cheaty?" he asked. "I've got no weapons."
He was speaking, Akaganeite knew--she could see his mouth moving--but the magic lingered, and there was no sound. She wasn't exactly as good lip-reader, and certainly not in her second language, so she simply shrugge,d and planted her feet, and yanked back on her bokken. But she only kept the pull for a moment; once she was sure it had become a tug of war, she let go, and then brought her leg up and around to sweep his out from under him.
It was about then that sound returned in a rush, and she could hear something other than the heaving of the hound that had been stalking her, which was a relief.
Just for good measure, she curled her hand into a fist, and brought it around to punch him in the face.

Right. Silence. He'd somehow forgotten that part, that she wouldn't be able to hear him. In his moment of internal distraction, she managed to sweep his legs out from under him and send him crashing to the ground, the air rushing out of his lungs. Well, crap.
He coughed a bit, grateful that at least with him crashing down her punch had barely missed him, and while he was down on the ground, he got the dumbest idea.
Naturally, he had to follow through with the impulse, and wrapped himself around her legs in a way reminiscent of a toddler begging daddy not to go to work, and didn't move.
Children. Even when Order recruited adults, apparently they recruited adult children, because who else could possibly think that grabbing her leg like a toddler was a valid tactic?
"Are we throwing a tantrum today, Senshi?" she asked, and then she brought her other foot around and kicked him in the face, as hard as she could. "I simply do not have time for your nonsense. Get off me and let me leave, brat."

The kick, while expected, still hurt like a b***h. He winced, stretching out his jaw after she'd hit him square on it. That sucked. Thank God for his kickboxing habit, or that would've really been bad for him. He'd been hit in the face more times than he could count. Maybe not in this exact position, but close enough to it.
He sighed, tightening his grip and looking up at her. "Insults don't really get you anywhere," he said dryly, "I feel like maybe you could benefit from some anger management lessons. Besides, if you don't have time for me messing with your day, well. I'm just delaying actions that hurt innocent civilians anyway, most likely. You could consider just not hurting people in the first place."
Kaga exhaled, heavily, and she kicked him again. If he was going to stay attached to her leg, she would continue applying violence until he stopped.
"I do not think it is an anger management problem," she said, kicking again, "when I am responding to someone," another, "who attacked me out of nowhere, simply because I am in the Negaverse."
One last kick, for good measure.
"Continue to vex me and I will extract your starseed and bring your unconscious body in for corruption. You will be much more useful remade as I was."

"Attack-ow-attacked out of nowhere?" he asked incredulously, wincing with every kick to his body. He could've tried to grab her second leg and make her topple, but honestly, this... while he was in pain? This was kind of fun, in a ridiculous sort of way.
"You literally dropped a person on a park bench after draining their energy. Anything that might happen to them after you did that to them is on you," he said, scowling. "Moor Stalk."
Spell spoken, he released her and leapt away, heading up a nearby building.
The darkness, the silence, descended all over again, and Kaga felt a chill up her spine--though, this being the second time she'd dealt with it in a short period, it wasn't quite so much of a shock.
His complaints, in her opinion, were petty and pathetic. She had ensured her draining target was left somewhere safe. He had no idea what she had intended to do after--and he was judging her with no understanding.
Pathetic. Childish.
She waited for the magic to dissipate, and then retreated into the dark--and then she made her call. The woman would be safe, as best as she could ensure; her sacrifice would not be in vain, nor would it be rewarded with suffering. And then, she moved on herself. Always more work to do.
