Spring was on the way. Sure it didn’t feel like it yet, but Keiko knew that it was the truth. Logically. She wondered what Spring would look like up on Keiko…would it get warmer? It would be easier to make repairs if it were warmer…if there wasn’t any threat of a blizzard keeping her inside…she could do so much more. Even if she was inside, it would be easier to work if she wasn’t just figuring out how to keep warm. Why her Fuku hadn’t come with pants was beyond her…maybe when she grew stronger again she would get that blessing…and if not…
Keiko would just have to deal with it. Continue to deal with it.
It was so easy getting lost in her own mind, that she didn’t realize just how close she was getting to another senshi until she practically ran into her. “Oh s**t, I’m so sorry!”
It was so easy to be on the look out for chaos auras that she sometimes just…didn’t bother to focus on those of her own kind. It didn’t seem so very unsafe, unless you counted moments like this. Which…didn’t happen too often. “I didn’t step on you, did I? Damn, that outfit is so pretty! Are you the senshi of butterflies or something?”
What a fun sphere! Oh, the amount of beauty on such a homeworld too! No ice and snow, just flowers and fluttering wings…that would be fantastic.

Surely this other Senshi was either going to go around her, or stop before she went colliding into her. At least that was what Varuna hoped as the aura of another Senshi got closer and closer. Sometimes she envied the Negaverse for their ability to teleport.
Thankfully the other Senshi seemed to come out of her own thoughts before they collided, but Varuna eyed her suspiciously, especially after her overly enthusiastic greeting and complimenting of her clothes.
“Or something,” she responded quietly. She wasn’t smiling, but she didn’t seem upset about the encounter. She had placed her arms delicately over one another as the other Senshi had approached. She’d been out looking for any clues about her cousin, but so far there was nothing useful.
It probably didn’t help that she usually kept to herself.
But she also wasn’t cold like the other Senshi seemed to be.

The seemingly lackluster response didn’t deter Keiko, and she nodded, pleased. “Is that an or something like…I’m close with my guess? Or an or something that I’m completely wrong and you’re just too polite to let me know. I’m Keiko, senshi of the Yuki-Onna, and it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
She held out a hand, still grinning, wondering if this was going to be an interaction that she wanted to prolong or simply an introduction followed by a hasty exit.
Ah well, she hoped it wouldn’t be the latter but. You never could tell.
“Are you in the mood for company tonight or would you rather I leave you to your own doings?” There was no heat to the question, but some disappointment. She liked the idea of gaining new friends.

Varuna shook her head when Keiko introduced herself. “I don’t know what that is,” she admitted, her arms still crossed one over the other as the other senshi held out a hand.
Friendly little thing. Jumping into something like that seemed suspicious. Not that Varuna had never initiated contact, but… she was also very skeptical of what others would want from her. It wasn’t as though she had many friends to begin with, so it wasn’t as though she knew how to make or keep them.
“Varuna. Senshi of avalanches,” she cautiously introduced, although she made no movement to take the woman’s hand. She shrugged instead. It wasn’t as though she was trying to leave, but she wasn’t as friendly and extroverted as Keiko seemed to be.
Sometimes she wished people were all just… animals. They were easier to deal with when they were covered in fur and on all fours. And weren’t vindictive.

Keiko kept her hand extended for a few moments longer and finally let it drop. “Snow woman. It’s a Japanese monster, lots of different variants, some say that she freezes you, some legends she marries you, it’s kind of neat. My magic just really makes you cold though, from what I can tell.”
Avalanches? Now, that was cool and Keiko’s eyes lit up from the very idea of it. “...I know what an avalanche is, obviously, but what does your magic do? Does it actually bury people? That’s pretty fantastic, and you don’t have to deal with not knowing what your power comes from…but I tell you, when I looked mine up, it led to a really long rabbit hole online that somehow ended up with me researching demi gods but…that’s completely besides the point.”
Rocking back on her heels, Keiko gave a slightly awkward smile. “Sorry, I know I’m a bit overbearing, I just really enjoy meeting new friends. I was a terrible senshi for the longest time but. Met with some pretty great people so…I guess I try to emulate them and reach out to those I meet. If you don’t mind, can I add you to my phone contacts? You’re free to do the same, but if you ever want a patrol partner…or back up…or just want to hang out in Space sometime, feel free to hit me up!”

It was difficult for Varuna to trust so easily. She wasn’t sure how anyone else could. Unless there was some ulterior motive and it was just fake. After her experiences, she was hesitant to want to have anything to do with others.
Except some had been nice. That one Page, Connie. And Adria. He offered her a chance to be part of something bigger, although she had only ever spoken with him.
After a few moments, she nodded. She might not have answered Keiko’s questions about her magic, but she couldn’t tell if they were rhetorical since the other woman kept speaking.
“You can add me,” she agreed, although she wasn’t sure how keen she was about hanging out.
