It hit him in the middle of one nap and the next, something he should have realized a long time ago.

The others had been reborn. He didn’t know when, exactly, or how, but if they had been reborn, why not Percy? They were all gathered on Earth, it was the perfect starting point. Ganymede and Valhalla were there, why shouldn’t Sessrumnir be there too?

Percy, but not Percy.

He’d promised he’d find Percy in every life. He’d said he’d know how to find him, whether he was Sessrumnir or not.

If all the life in the universe was recycled to Earth, he had a better chance than ever. There wasn’t a universe to scour through, just a world–and if what everyone else had said was true, Destiny City was the most likely place for Knights and Senshi to pop up.

Devyn had promised to find Percy, and he’d been looking, but he’d been blinded by his own denial.

It might not be Percy on Earth, but it was his starseed–and Devyn had promised to find him. He’d said he’d have been able to pick out his starseed in a sea of them, and Percy was more than the love of his life, he was the love of his Lives. All of them.

They were supposed to go to the Cauldron together, but Cosmos had come early; she’d taken Percy too soon, and Devyn would never forgive her. But if she had Percy, if she’d sent him back to Earth with the other–

Then there was still a chance. It might not be him but it would be him.

They had memories of their pasts.

So there could be someone out there who knew him. Who knew him through Percy’s eyes, through Percy’s starseed. Someone who was waiting for him to fulfill his promise. Someone who needed him.

He didn’t know where to put that on the list of things to take care of, so he wrote it at the top and at the bottom.

Sessrumnir would be easy to find–Serge had come back as Chris, though Devyn couldn’t see any connections. But he’d come back to Ganymede, and Devyn had spent so much time gossiping with Percy about what those two must have been up to that it wasn’t surprising that they’d be together in that life or this one.

It wasn’t impossible. He had to tell himself it wasn’t impossible because it was the first spark of life he’d had in him since the dinner on Earth.

What if Sessrumnir needed help, too?

He’d hurried to the doorway Percy had built so they could walk from work world to another, but it hadn’t functioned since–

A long, long time ago. He didn’t know if the problem was on his end or Sessrumnir’s, but maybe someone with a technical eye could tell him–or, better yet, fix it. He’d have to have help for that, but before he could have someone here he’d have to make it safer, but–

He could add that to the list.

Or–what if Percy’s starseed hadn’t moved on? What if he was a wandering spirit, tethered to empty halls? What if he’d had to spend all this time alone? What if someone else had taken over his Wonder and didn’t understand?

He had to find him. He had to make sure. He had to do whatever he could to help because he and Percy had always been in this together. He wanted what was best for him, in any life. He wanted to make sure Sessrumnir was looked after.

If Devyn had lived this long, it had to be for a reason.

In no universe could that not have had something to do with Percy.

He just had to find him.

Or, whoever he was in this lifetime.
