A new craze is sweeping across Tendaji and everyone from the rich to the nomads are finding themselves swept into the excitement. Even you have heard about this new trend of going out into the world and hunting for treasure.
For the seasoned treasure hunters, it's a bit laughable to think it's just that easy to go and get rich, but they can appreciate the enjoyment many are getting from wading into the rivers and streams, sifting through stone, and occasionally pulling up a precious treasure to call their own.
But how easy is it, really? And are you lucky enough to strike gold?
[ IThis event prompt includes an extra step - you will need to roll a dice and react to the result. Will you be lucky enough to find something precious? Or just come up with a few rocks and cold feet?
Only the gods of luck will know - but fortune always favored the bold. So head on over to your local body of water, bring a sifting tool that many have claimed works like a charm, and see what comes up with this hot new craze. ]

11 - 20: Lucky Lucky! You seem to have struck gold...or something similar. Use the second roll to calculate your results...and add +5 to the number.
21-24: Amazing! You pull out a rock that has quite a few gemstones poking out, which means there's more inside. This could be enough to create a jewelry set, or even sell it raw for a good amount of coin.

With nothing else to do with her spare time she decided it wouldn't be such a bad idea to try the new craze that she'd heard about. Certainly prospecting in the river wouldn't be boring. She already had a sifting pan for other reasons so putting it to use now was no issue.
Before going into the water though she tied up her skirt to keep it from getting soaked. With her having shorts on underneath she wasn't worried about keeping covered. Once that was done, however, she went a few steps into the water so that she could find a good spot to start.
2 - 10: Something Shiny That looks promising... Use the second roll to calculate your results.
1 - 5: Better Than Nothing A common gemstone...maybe it fell off a passing traveler. You could probably put it to use.
[ Zayana 1 ]
Zayana wasn't one who was interested in treasures. Growing up as part of a warrior sisterhood, outcasts to the world, treasures were more sentimental or ornamental than anything. Yet as she continued to travel across Tendaji she couldn't help but note that the Earthlings were in a sort of rush to find the next mystery item. Whereas in the past she noticed few travelers trying to explore caves, it seemed like everyone these days was gossiping about their latest finds.
She wasn't quite convinced.
She didn't have the tools or the interest, and yet she still had to deal with the masses that accumulated at the riverside, causing the tall woman to try and find a place to wash off away from the crowd. It was harder said than done, and she had a bit of a scowl on her face...she just wanted to cool off and get on her way.

When she looked up, her little spot in the water some feet away from everyone else, she noticed someone who looked out of place. Mostly because of the scowl on their face. The leaf woman did her best to hide her chuckle behind her hand before she carefully made her way over to the other woman. "I don't mind sharing my space." She was calf deep in the water where she stood. "I know the place is a bit crowded." Of course Sy thought that the other woman wanted to give the new trend a try too.
And she would make sure not to splash the woman while she sifted through the silt and rocks for whatever treasure she could find.
It caught her a moment off guard to be approached, and so Zayana turned and eyed the woman before her. It looked like Sy was a bit more mature, first and foremost from the fact she didn't oogle the wayward Elaria. That and her consideration caused Zayana to push past some of her annoyance to land on a cool and calmness.
"Crowded is a bit of an understatement..." She mumbled after a moment, glancing about once again, "I can't say I understand why so many...people are out on the river today."

Her smile became a bit more amused when the other woman said it was an understatement. She glanced towards the people who were busy panning for whatever treasures they could find and were splashing water here and there. She shook her head a bit before looking back. "Everyone is excited to try the newest thing." She held up her own sifting pan. "You use this and try to find gold. Or whatever treasure has been lost in the water."
With the small explanation she extended one hand for Zayana to take, an offer to help the woman into the water. "I can show you if you want, or I can just share my space in the water if you're here for something else." With the confusion about it all Sy quickly came to the realization that this woman might have just wanted to have a quiet moment in the water to relax.
Her rounded brow raised as the pan was lifted, before Zayana sent a deadpan look at the group around them.
"Are they actually finding anything?" She asked slowly in response, wading a little closer to the Leafling as her curiosity for customs and oddities outweighed her desire for keeping to herself. Zayana was always curious about others, outsiders and what they did. It was why she spent so much time with the Menehune, as odd as that sounded.
Had she not been an Aishan already, she was sure she'd be covered with the Menehune markings.
Pausing a few feet away, the Aishan narrowed her eyes slightly before looking at the water.
"I mean...there's something over there..." She pointed to the glimmering where the water was rushing a bit, "At least something not water?"
It wasn't a lot, but enough for Zayana to take note of.

She glanced around after the question was posed. "Hmn, well I guess that depends on how lucky they are." Sy brought her attention back to the woman with a smile.
As it was pointed out that there was something not water nearby she moved her eyes to follow where Zayana pointed. "Oh.. it is kinda shiny. Lets see what it is." Syqvara offered another smile to the Elaria before she leaned over and gently used her pan to scoop where the glimmer was. She was slow about bringing it up so the water didn't just pull it all back out. When it was above the surface she gently shook the pan. With the mud and water gone she saw that there was a rock with several gemstones poking out of it. "Oh! How lovely." Sy picked it up and held it out for Zayana to see.
Zayana watched with narrowed eyes a long moment as the Leaf woman worked slowly and methodically at sifting through the sands. It reminded her of the Menehune glass workers, all about the process than the final result. Though as Sy brought up the final result, Zayana was surprised. It didn't seem like such a thing was in the water at first glance, but now a giant crystal rock was probably enough to get something worth it.
"The tool does seem helpful in sifting through the muck." She finally replied, nodding but not gesturing to grab it. Turning back to the water, she considered a long moment the location where it came from before wading in deeper and reaching her hand under to grasp a lingering shimmer.

She watched the woman as she waded deeper into the water with a keen eye on the look out. She'd mentioned the tool being useful but hadn't asked for it. Syqvara hoped that without the tool she'd be able to get something. Usually water displaced the exact location of things so grabbing blind like Zayana was doing could be tricky.
Sy stayed quiet, not wanting to disrupt her concentration, but watched curiously. She kept her smile in place, however, as she was just pleased to see the woman taking an interest rather than scowling.
Pulling out the small gem, it was by no means comparable to the find that Sy had, but Zayana smiled lightly at the item all the same. Turning, she walked back through the water to stand close to Sy, glancing between the items before holding her hand out and offering it.
"Looks like it's one in the same, might as well finish the collection." She said with a small smile, nodding and offering her own treasure to the hunter before her.

She watched as the woman got a gemstone that matched the ones in her own found treasure. Syqvara smiled. It was a pretty gemstone. Of course then the woman handed it to her claiming that it would finish her collection. "Thank you." The leafling reached out with her left hand for the stone. "I might have to get a jewelry set made." A necklace, earrings, bracelet. It would be nice.
"You are much better at this than I am. I had to use this pan and you just used your hand." Sy chuckled slightly.
Not one too concerned with jewelry, Zayana couldn't quite picture the set that the other might has imagined. Maybe it was a necklace, or earrings, or some collection with the group. Either way, upon a quick glance, Zayana understood why the pretty earthling might desire some pretty accents.
"I must be used to it...growing up in Yael and moving to Kahikina. Lots of swamps and muck with lost treasure..." She replied with a shrug, "Though there is nothing against using tools...my daughter is quite smitten with such technology. I'm almost afraid she wont return to Kiros with me at the end of our trip..."
It was her turn to chuckle, though the concern was slightly real if she considered it more than a moment.
"I'm Zayana, by the way." She added with a meek smile.

Hearing about how the woman grew up in Yael and then moved to Kahikina she smiled with a kind of intrigued light in her eyes. "Two places I've never been. Maybe you could tell me about them sometime." Sy had done some travelling when she was younger but she didn't do that so much anymore. Mostly because she stayed home to care for her elderly mother and raise her son. With the woman stating her own daughter seemed taken with technology she couldn't help but smile even more. "Maybe you can take some of the technology back with you or books for her to read about them." Sy wasn't such how old the woman's daughter was.
When a name was given she offered up a friendly chuckle before she tucked her red hair behind her long pointed ear. "Hello, Zayana, I'm Syqvara." Her hand went out for the other woman to take in a friendly shake.
She smiled a bit brighter back, nodding at the suggestion while taking the smaller woman's hand in a nice shake. It wasn't too bad meeting earthlings, in fact that was the reason she had followed her mother and raised her daughter the way she did. For moments like these....moments of shared understanding and peace.
"We might as well keep searching for more, such treasure we've already found. I don't mind sharing a story or too while we hunt."
Looking back, she narrowed her eyes in search of a shiny or too, before point in the distance and nodding for the woman to follow. Things ended up turning out alright, all things considered. And her daughter would probably enjoy the tale when she finally returned to their camp.
