Date Night

Solo or RP Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7

Love is in the air and it is exhausting. It seems everyone is so excited to meet someone new and see if they 'click'. To the point where this new trend has spread across Tendaji - Blind Dates.

The concept is pretty simple - you have a friend (or a matchmaker) set up a date with someone you've never met before. Some find this exhilarating - a chance to go beyond the same old and meet someone new. But others see this as unnecessary anxiety forced upon them by their friends or society's pressure.

Either way, you find yourself set up on a date not of your choosing, with a stranger who you've never met before. This could either be the person of your dreams...or a big mistake. Guess the only thing you can do is see where this date takes you.

---

For those who are already in a relationship, it's hard to host a 'blind date', but you can get close. It's time to surprise your significant other with a night date, just the two of you. No family, no children, just a chance to spend time with the one you love.

[ It's date night! This prompt should include a date with a stranger, either set up by your friends or by a matchmaker. If you're RPing your character with another, we ask that it be someone new (within reason to where your character is currently located). If you're RPing alone, create a new NPC and see where the night takes you.

Who knows, maybe this will be your character's future partner...or maybe an awkward enemy. What's the harm in the name of love?

For those who have characters already in a relationship, we're instead looking for a "Surprise Date" where one of the partners surprises the other with ad ate experience. ]

Hesperia let out a shaky breath and smoothed out a few invisible wrinkles in her top as she waited, holding herself upright and trying her utmost to appear composed and expectant. It ... wasn't working. Even now, she wasn't sure why she'd signed up for this 'date' at all - especially with an earthling. She'd only been in the mainland for a short time, and if she was honest she'd agreed to the date out of a startled auto-response rather than an actual, measured choice.

But it was too late to back out of it, and the matchmaker had told her how very disappointed the other person would be if she didn't show up. True, it wasn't as if the eartlhing would sicc someone after her if she didn't come, but - Hesperia would always feel guilty for it.

So she waited, and she hoped and prayed that whoever it was wasn't a male, because she didn't know how she'd handle THAT, on top of everything else.

Tyyn grinned from ear to ear as she scanned the town for her partner. She was supposed to meet someone here, though she had never met them. She had never heard of this being a thing before - a blind date - but it sounded like a hoot.

Meet someone you have never met and take them on a date. She didn't know many people in Jauhar still and who was she to say no to something new?

She was looking for a 'Hesperia'. Sounded like a woman, already a step in an interesting direction, and she was told that Hesperia was an Aishan. Which was something interesting in itself. Tyyn hadn't met many Aishans ladies before.

She spotted a very tall, very curvy woman and was instantly confused and intrigued. Was this the right person? They were very dark, with piercing yellow eyes. Tyyn raised and arm and flagged her down. "Yo!" She jogged over to meet what she hoped was the right person.

Was someone hailing her? Hesperia jumped just a bit, spinning to seek out whoever was calling - and sure enough, there was a smaller earthling woman waving her arm at her. She was pretty, for an earthling - with those strange eyes that had two parts, and crystals. Hesperia didn't quite know enough about earthlings and their distinctive looks to recognize that this woman was a hybrid, but to her even agreeing to see an earthling at all was scandalous.

"Ah-- 'yo', to you too." She said, awkwardly, turning towards the girl who came to greet her. "Tyyn? It's ah... nice to meet you." Goddess, but this was strange, wasn't it? "I hope it wasn't too hard to find me. This little town really is quite big, isn't it?"

Tynn's grin widened when the woman used her name. So it was the right person. "Yeah, nice to meet you too, but wow are you not what I was expecting." She started rambling on to the dark woman in front of her. "When they said 'Aishan' I pictured tall, angry, yellow, you know the normal. Not tall, dark, and gorgeous." She laughed out.

"The town is bigger than it looks though, that's for sure." Tynn had been in Jauhar for months now but she felt like she was finding new things all the time here. "Did you have anything that you wanted to do? Are you from here? Visiting?" She started to ask her date. If they were going to start hitting it off they should be going somewhere, right?

The closer this girl got, the more curious Hesperia felt. She wore her hair soft and undreaded, like the earthlings in the settlements close to her home. Her tanned skin was quite unlike the dark of the Vandrea, or the pale of the Alkidike, but still surprisingly appealing - and the crystals were of the smooth kind, the sort she wanted to reach out and touch, but resisted due to how improper it would be.

Thankfully, her companion didn't seem to catch that she was being observed, not when she was chattering on as she was. Hesperia arced a rounded brow at her, her smile widening a bit in curiosity. Then... gorgeous? "That's-- very sweet."

Was this earthling flirting? Hesperia's hands smoothed a bit over the ends of her dreads, as a nervous ticc, flustered, but curious. Why would she think Alkidike were angry?

"Well - I suppose I'm not sure what all Jauhar has to offer. I'm visiting, actually, so -" She tilted her head to peer around, then extended her arm towards Tynn, an offer for her to take it. "Maybe you could show me some things to do here, for fun?"

So she was visiting. That would explain the interesting looks compared to the normal Aishans. ”Fantastic! Fun is what I live for.” She threw a cheesy grin at the woman and took the arm offered to her. Though - her idea of fun was usually scrapping and roughhousing and Hesperia didn’t look like the type to get into a scuffle like that.

”What’s your idea of fun anyhow? Do you like drinking, eating, fighting, sightseeing, what’s your deal?” She asked the Aishan, trying to get a feel which way she should be heading. ”I myself am a pretty adept drinker… and eater… and hooligan if I do say so myself.” Might as well be upfront about her hobbies.

(4/7) - I'm totally up to finish, or we can stop~ No pressure at all~ !

Her idea of fun... usually that entailed inside jokes with her sister, making fun of particularly frustrating instructors or elders, training and hitting impressive shots. But ... Hesperia wasn't immune to the allures of a tasty drink, or delicious foods. She was curious, though. Hooligans, in her experience, were those who caused chaos - like putting sticky things into someone's dreads, or painting stinky things on peoples' houses.

"I suppose-- all of the above? Though -- you don't really eat bugs here, do you?" Hesperia tapped her chin with her other hand, humming. "How about - show me what 'hooligans' get up to, here in Jauhar! And, all else failing, I think some drinks to end the night would be wonderful."

Tyyn felt herself rev up inside, she was ready to see how Hesperia the town her style. ”Good pick. Her eyebrows lowered into a smirk. ”We can get into some trouble and finish up with some ale.”

She pulled on the aishan girl’s arm and led the way, her small frame looking incredibly funny pulling the tall aishan along. ”Bugs?” She barked out a laugh. ”I heard that the Alkidike are the ones who like to eat bugs.” She thought of the maglardilla and was very happy to have never had to eat one before. She was told they were good meat and not very bug like in consistency, but Tyyn wasn’t really willing to find out.

”Alright, now play it cool. There’s a place nearby I think I can sneak you into. It’s usually a members only kind of thing.” She took a sharp right and the alley got darker, the usual lanterns not reaching this far out.

Hesperia, despite being bigger, let the smaller woman lead her along with little resistance. Not that she thought it would stop Tyyn, she came off as so determined Hesperia didn't think she'd have given much resistance in the first place!

"What! No - that's not true - is it?" She didn't know much about her Alkidike sisters, but she still felt her skin crawl at the idea that they ate bugs. Although - the stories the elders back home told was that such creatures in Jauhar were as big as duruf, not like the pests that liked to infested their crops back home.

"Sneak? Me?" Hesperia responded with a breathless giggle, stooping just a bit to shrink herself down. As if THAT would help make it easier to sneak an Aishan anywhere! "Okay, just tell me what to do!"

Tyyn darted around another corner, the path looking more and more questionable morally as they went. People were skulking in corners, commotions can be heard from fights off in the distance, and only occasional torches lit the way. "Alright, in here." Tyyn popped into a creaky looking doorway and pulled Hesperia inside with her.

The tavern they were in was dimly lit and not of the usual decor. The center of the building's common room was cleared out and roped off, with a dirt floor that looked like it was worn down. Across the room on the far side was a wall to wall bar, and the place was full with raucous earthlings. "I think we made it in time. It'll probably start soon." She called back to Hesperia, taking her to the bar side of the room.

As if on cue, two earthlings pulled themselves across the ropes and into the center of the room and without much to be said started to brawl.

(OOC: omg kana XDDD)

The further along they went, the more... nervous Hesperia became. If she was on her own, she probably would have panicked, but with Tyyn (despite being relative strangers) leading her along, that adrenaline turned her bubbly and giddy. She'd never been in a place so seedy, and when they stepped inside the Vandrea turned to look everywhere she could to try and take in the place.

Her sister would never have allowed her to come someplace like this - and it wasn't as if Hesperia liked it very much, but it was exciting, and scary, but so new that it felt dangerous and fun all at once. It was perhaps the stupidest thing she'd ever done, and that only made her feel more energetic!

"Start? What'll start?" She questioned as they went towards the bar, only to jump and turn to look as two earthlings began to pummel one another! "Those people are fighting! Why are they fighting?" Hesperia whispered towards her companion, golden eyes wide in alarm.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 26, 2023 11:37 am

Tyyn couldn't help but bellow out a laugh. Hesperia seemed like she was not only confused but slightly terrified. She thought the Aishans were supposed to be tough hardened warriors who killed for fun. Apparently just like more rumors it was blown out of proportion.

"First rule about places like this: you don't talk about places like this." Tyyn offered at first. She turned her head to both sides of her before she answered Hesperia's question. "It's an illegal sport around these parts. I hear some places it's pretty common practice and not underground like in Jauhar. This place's been around for a while but if word gets out it gets shut down." Tyyn breathed in deeply as if she was smelling the scents of sweat, blood... and maybe piss, who knew. "Doesn't it get your blood pumping?" She grinned to the Aishan woman.

(7/7)

Hesperia probably should feel that Tyyn was laughing at her, but thankfully she took the laughter well and only blushed in embarrassment, tugging a few dreads forward over her shoulders so she could grip onto them like a safety line.

I-... illegal?! That meant it wasn't allowed, didn't it? Hesperia let out a slightly hysterical laugh, turning her head back towards where the two earthlings were still pummeling one another. "I ah-- I guess- in a way it does--" Yes because she was terrified! She would take what solace she could in at least not being here alone. So, she shuffled her seat closer to Tyyn's.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 27, 2023 4:59 am

Tyyn yelled out in excitement when one of the earthlings dropped the other onto the ring and he didn't get back up. Knock out! She stood in her seat and yelled with the others as the unconscious earthling was dragged out of the ring and the little bits of blood were rubbed out of the dirt.

"I bet you've never had a first date like this before, am I right?" Tyyn called back to Hesperia, a little oblivious of how uncomfortable the Aishan really was. Tyyn thought for sure this date went really well and she had thoroughly impressed the other woman. Success.
