21-24: Amazing! You pull out a rock that has quite a few gemstones poking out, which means there's more inside. This could be enough to create a jewelry set, or even sell it raw for a good amount of coin.

He had been adventuring around Tale for a while, sort of doing a circuit of the area and one day he recognized his surroundings as familiar. He had completed his circle and was now around the place where he had met the woman that he had given his Mother's necklace to. He wondered how the lady was doing and if by some stroke of luck he might bump into her again for a chat.

He had heard that some people were having success prospecting in the area and he figured he might give it a try. Which meant he would be staying for a bit. He had even gotten himself a panning bowl. What might be found out here.

That morning saw him crouched by a river bed looking pensively at the clear stream and wondering what secrets the stones could be hiding. Birds chirped and a brisk breeze brought sweet air smelling of grass and flowers. There was something to be said about Tale, the more he was here the more and more he liked it.

He paused and turned to look behind him. When he saw who it was he grinned broadly.

"I didn't drop anything Milady. I'm looking for gems or gold that may have been eroded away upriver. You could call it a lazy man's prospecting."

He stood and turned to greet her properly.

"Nice to see you again."

He showed her his gold pan.

"You sort of sift the silt away from the rabble and crag then you look for strange stones or sparkly things. It is apparently all the rage right now."

He deflated a bit, "No, not yet." He had been looking for a while and the water was in fact quite chilly. "Might need a bit of a break pretty soon if you would care to join me for lunch?" He had enough food for two and he had caught some small game. He was a half decent cook after so long in the bush alone.

It was sure nice to see a pretty face though.

“For sure its pretty simple. You pick up some sediment, not too much and then you wriggle the pan back and forth in the water which will carry away the fine sediment then you flip it over on a flattish surface and see if you get anything.
“He demonstrated with a scoop of dirt for her what he meant.

He grinned at her. "Exactly like that! Look at you go girl." He was proud that she had gotten right in there and tried and looked hella ladylike while doing it too and that wasn't always easy, especially when silt was involved.

"You look way better than I do when I try." He felt a certain strange kind of warmth when she smiled at him. Something he had never felt before. There was just something stunning about her smile.

"Did you find anything?" He asked.

"It gets a bit easier with time, also if your able to use two hands to shake it. But your dress wouldn't be so pretty then." He was glad that he didn't wear them. Though it Matori he occasionally wore one of the mens beach skirts. He usually preferred pants for anything more than the occasional loungey beach day.

"Oh good! Now you just have to shake it a bit and dig it out."

He was very happy she had found something her first try.

"I've been here a while you must be very lucky." In face almost every time he bumped into her it was lucky.

"Oh I don't know I might have moved to a different spot, thats why its always good to let someone else look at the same situation." He smiled. He waded into the water and started inspecting rocks.

"Sometimes one can find different things locked in the rocks, my favorite from a few years ago was a fish fossil. I had dropped a rock and there it was plain as day when the rock fell open. I keep it at home in camp."

He fished around checking rocks.

"Heehee, like this!" He held up a rock encrusted with sapphires. "I may get some jewelery commissioned. What do you think?"

He was more than pleased with his find and the experience in general though it kind of went hand in hand with his ranger ish lifestyle.

He felt like he would definitly go again and make something special of what he had found. Particularly if his current company would also come with him again.
