Date Night

Love is in the air and it is exhausting. It seems everyone is so excited to meet someone new and see if they 'click'. To the point where this new trend has spread across Tendaji - Blind Dates.
The concept is pretty simple - you have a friend (or a matchmaker) set up a date with someone you've never met before. Some find this exhilarating - a chance to go beyond the same old and meet someone new. But others see this as unnecessary anxiety forced upon them by their friends or society's pressure.
Either way, you find yourself set up on a date not of your choosing, with a stranger who you've never met before. This could either be the person of your dreams...or a big mistake. Guess the only thing you can do is see where this date takes you.

For those who are already in a relationship, it's hard to host a 'blind date', but you can get close. It's time to surprise your significant other with a night date, just the two of you. No family, no children, just a chance to spend time with the one you love.
[ It's date night! This prompt should include a date with a stranger, either set up by your friends or by a matchmaker. If you're RPing your character with another, we ask that it be someone new (within reason to where your character is currently located). If you're RPing alone, create a new NPC and see where the night takes you.
Who knows, maybe this will be your character's future partner...or maybe an awkward enemy. What's the harm in the name of love?
For those who have characters already in a relationship, we're instead looking for a "Surprise Date" where one of the partners surprises the other with ad ate experience. ]

Lynx 1 Being told by his brother that he had a date was not how he expected his night to go. He figured he'd be relaxing with his familiars somewhere like usual. Now he was trying not to look like a complete disaster. Lynx had managed to tame his hair and actually make it lay to the one side without being messy. Since he wasn't so sure how this 'date' felt about familiars he left Banshee, his Janarim, at home and only took Juniper, his Loatoa. She was smaller and adorable so hopefully that would make up for it.

Taliessin had received a message from an old friend, one she had met ages ago when she was a youngling still wandering about the world. It was exciting to remember the good times, before she was constantly training in her skills or helping her family around the home. So to have the opportunity to meet up and get away, to learn more about the boy who had all the strange creatures, Tali couldn't pass it up.
Little did she know that she was possibly part of a harmless prank.
It didn't help that she was about to stumble upon his carbon copy. And it had been so long since she'd last seen him too. Maybe she should have realized he didn't catch sight of her right away - did he not ask her to come and expect her. But either way, she approached with a bright smile.
"Iexa! It's been too long! Look at your hair - you've grown it out!" She said with a laugh, "I like it, looks nice."
She brushed her shorter hair behind her ears, smiling up at him as she waited for his reply.

Lynx 2 Since he had nothing else to do to pass the time as he waited he busied his hand with petting the Loatoa that took refuge in his satchel. The creature all too pleased to soak up the attention. He wished his brother would have given him some clue as to who he was meeting but when he asked all he was told was that it was a surprise. Of course when he heard his brother's name called out he looked up then around. Iexa was there? Was the brat watching from the shadows somewhere? But then the mention of his brother's hair being grown out caught him and he found the speaker. Oh! They were looking at him. They thought he was Iexa. Lynx gave a smirk at that as it was still common for people to do when they didn't pay attention. "I did let my hair grow out and thanks for saying it looks nice but uh.. I'm not Iexa. I'm his twin, Lynx." He lifted his free hand, the one not currently lavishing scritches to Juniper, and offered a small wave. "Let me guess.. he told you to meet him here?" Knowing his twin it didn't take much to put two and two together. It was a setup. One Iexa would be 'punished' for later.

Her eyes blinked once...twice...and then furiously as her brain attempted to comprehend what was happening. She didn't recall much about Iexa's brother, simply that he had one, but she had no clue it was a twin.
Suddenly she felt her cheeks flame up with heat, embarrassment at her mistake and the smirk from the boy in front of her who seemed to be enjoying the joke. Was this a joke? Taliessin wasn't one to be hurt by such things, but still the embarrassment was something that caught her off guard and had her stumbling with how to reply.
Thankfully, Lynx was a good sport about it and seemed to give her an out, and she looked away with a laugh to relieve the tension before shaking her head.
"He did...to catch up." She replied with a wave of her hand, before rolling her shoulders to release the last bit of tension, "I'm Taliessin, but the way. It's very nice to meet you - even if it was quite unexpected."

He watched her blink at him. A typical response from most when the learned that Iexa and Lynx not only shared the womb but came out looking identical. The two had often times played up on it when they were younger. Sometimes still did when it came to family. Lynx saw the flush of embarrassment in the girl's face and offered a low chuckle in response. "Its alright, it happens more than you'd think." A nod was given as he hummed in thought. "Interesting. He told you it was to catch up and he told me I had a date." Lynx wasn't going to hide that from the girl - Taliessin. "Always nice to meet a friend of my brother's, even if they mistake me for him." He nodded his head at her instead of offering to shake her hand. "Fair warning, we have younger siblings too. We share looks but none of them are identical." He didn't want the girl to be caught off guard again later on.

Now she wasn't one to get embarrassed with a little bit of flirting, not with the environment she was raised in or the sweet relationship of her parents. No, her embarrassment was more around the social setting, but thankfully it was quick to pass. So when he once again reassured her it was no big deal, she smiled brightly and nodded in understanding and appreciation.
As she took his hand and shook it in greeting, she nodded seriously despite the twinkle that was showing in her eyes, "I'll make a note of it, though I wont make the same mistake again. Got any tips on how I can ensure I don't fall for the same trick twice?"
She dropped his hand, "Seems like your brother has become a bit of a trickster since I last spoke with him..."

Lynx 4 He thought about her question on how to avoid the same mistake in the future, his gaze shifting to the side a bit. "Depends on how observant you are. Right now I'd say look for my scar." He brought his gaze back to her and pointed to his right shoulder where claw marks were permanently left in his skin. A training accident with one of his familiars. "Iexa has always been a trickster. It runs in our blood." Lynx offered Taliessin a grin. "As for my siblings.. they should be pretty easy to keep track of. Zasha has green eyes. Zohra has brown hair. Siofra takes after dad's shifter side. And Arkadios is build like our grandpa." A slight shoulder lift was all he gave to the differences of each sibling. "Since my brother decided to be a brat and all, would you like to get something to eat?" The beast tamer motioned behind him at the stalls where vendors were selling multiple things. Lynx felt and heard his own stomach agree to his words as it rumbled loudly enough to be heard by passers by. "I didn't eat before I came since I didn't want to be rude."

She hummed thoughtfully, eyeing his scar for a moment before nodding. It was a simple way to identify him, as long as he had it uncovered. And it seemed that being shirtless was something of a family trait, if she recalled her last meeting correctly.
"My family has a bit more variety, though we're easy to spot considering not many Shifters or Yaeli are around here, let alone hybrids." She replied, "...well, not considering all of those who work at the hall."
She caught herself babbling and snapped her mouth shut, before nodding at his over, "We might as well...hopefully your brother did a bit more planning than how we'd cross paths?"

He eyed her a bit when she mentioned that there weren't many shifters around. "Eh, not true. My uncle happens to be happily claimed by a lovely shifter hybrid. Though you got me on the Yaeli." As she agreed to getting food he turned and motioned for her to tag along with him. "You've met my brother right? Planning isn't exactly his strong suit." Lynx chuckled again at Iexa's expense but really he wasn't much better at it. "Do you have a preference on food?" Since Taliessin was the lady then she'd get to pick. One thing Lynx always did was ensure that the lady with him - or ladies if he had his sisters with him - got what she wanted. His mother made sure to instill manners in him at a young age and he'd kept them despite his troublemaker ways.

She hummed a bit at his comment, but just mentally shrugged. She was a bit aways out from her small town, and last she recalled there wasn't many other shifter hybrids. Really, she needed to get out more, it was almost painful how little she interacted with those outside of her village.
"Well, hopefully things are changing. It's painfully boring to be the only unique one around town." She finally replied with a smile, wandering with him as they continued the conversation and content to let him lead the way.
"Oh...well anything but fish, if we can help it?" She finally replied, "It's always fish around here, and I'm a bit bored of it. That's why I love visiting my family in Oba...they have a bit more variety."

Lynx 6 "Don't like the attention I take it?" He gave her a side glance as he led the way to the food stalls. He didn't mind being a little different from others. His silver hair meant he was easy to find if someone needed him. Of course a bunch of people seemed to think he was a simple shifter and fire mix because they failed to look farther than that but oh well. At her preference he chuckled and nodded his head. "Sure. This way. They actually have smoked vegetables that are really delicious." Lynx happened to like them with a bit of the dipping sauce.

"I guess not..." She responded thoughtfully, "At least not the same old attention. Maybe growing up in an entertainment hall makes that type of attention get old." She shrugged. She didn't really appreciate attention for her looks only - it was superficial and maybe that's why she decided to go down the path of a musician. It was more of a feeling than a look.
As they moved toward the vendor, she smiled brightly, "Oh, I really do like them. I haven't been this way in awhile...I've been really busy." She mumbled the last part.
"You know, maybe your trickster brother had something right. I'm having a good time." She replied lightly, "It's been awhile since I've been out and wandering. I forgot how much I love this place..."

Lynx 7 "So you don't like being looked at.." He speculated a bit on that one. Taliessin sounded as though she didn't want people to notice her simply because of how she looked. He tended to blend in more than she did due to having a dark skin tone. Apart from his hair he looked like an Oban at first glance. "Yeah. I guess if people stared at me all day I'd get tired of it." "Good. I would hate to have to refuse to speak to you for disliking such an amazing food choice. It would be a tragedy." Lynx chuckled a bit. Once they were at the stall he ordered for the both of them and handed over the coin before Tali could complain. "Sorry to hear you've been too busy to make it this way. Maybe I'll have to tell Iexa that he needs to trick you more often so you get time to enjoy stuff." The hybrid offered a slight smirk at that. When their order was ready he took the food before handing Tali hers. "Enjoy. Seriously." Lynx at least wanted her to take the time to enjoy the time she had.

"It takes a unique person to thrive on attention...I guess not so unique considering how many of them I'm around each day."
Her fingers began to tap lightly on her hip, a sign from her brain demanding her body move. Movement was her life, and still to this day her mother always wondered why she went with music instead of dancing.
But then she laughed, a loud bark that wasn't very dainty but full of enough mirth that it went all the way to her eyes, "Oh how shameful it would be to insult you so." She replied as they approached the vendor, her mouth watering and stomach reminding her that this was just as much about food as it was company.
His comment caught her off guard, but before she could think of a response their order was called and she was handed the warm food. Looking down with a soft smile, she glanced back up at Lynx with a nod.
"I may be a bit of a work-a-holic, but it doesn't take tricks to get me out of the house. If you're ever around and looking for food, just come to the Violet. If I'm not outside, one of the dancers will know where to find me."
Then, she took a bite of food, content and happy to have made a new friend out of a potentially awkward situation.
