Legendary
Solo or RP Format Counts as 5 RP growth Points Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7
It all started as rumors...strange traits that appeared after certain Earthlings and Alkdikes went on a sort of...spiritual journey. Some would disappear for days before returning with horns, or feathers down their arms, or claws in place of their hands. Others apparently would fall off a cliff only to fly their way to freedom, disappearing in the clouds and never seen again. Those were the stories that were hard to believe...but these days...more were seeing these traits first hand.
Forked tongues, fuzzy antennae, spikes across their skin.
Legendary people who were blessed by the gods themselves.
No one quite knows why individuals are blessed, or when they can expect it, or even what they might get in terms of this unique trait. But it's gotten regular enough that rumors and gossip is starting to spread around. Younglings are daydreaming of traits they might some day get - though not guaranteed. And some are fearing the implications of why they might get such a thing.
Uncertainty is a dangerous think - it can lead to excitement and anticipation, but it also can lead to unfound fears. Especially when the uncertainty is around something completely and utterly out of one's control.
[ Lately more and more Tendajians are being blessed with Legendary Traits. There still is no rhyme or reason around why one is selected, outside of them being older and experienced. In this prompt, explore how your character feels about Legendary traits. Maybe they cross paths with someone with such traits, or maybe they are listening to rumors. Or maybe they are hoping for what their future traits might be (right or wrong). Have fun exploring this concept in character solo or with friends. ]

She moved along the rope bridge to one of the towns in the trees, her hand gripping the safety rope that crossed along with it. Nykinae had yet to get used to the sway of it all when walking across so she was somewhat slower than those around her. Of course the people that lived here were used to it since it was one of the bigger towns that people often stopped in for supplies. They moved around her with no real care or attitude, for which she was thankful.
When she looked up she wanted to see how far she had left to go. Of course she was met with the sight of something completely different. A shifter, which wasn’t all that out of place, but their skin seemed to have some markings on it. At first she thought they had a tattoo of sorts or maybe they were even a hybrid of some kind that allowed for skin markings. But as they drew nearer she noted that their skin showed constellations. Some that she could easily identify. The closer they got the more she could see.
Kina had heard about the legendary traits popping up on people across tendaji but had never paid much attention to the rumors. If they were so common, as rumors stated, then why had she not seen any? But looking now she wondered if all those rumors were true. Did that mean that people really had forked tongues? Did they grow spikes? Nykinae had always thought that the wind tribe had spiked crystals anyways so that had to be where that rumor had come from, but it made her wonder if there was a possibility that maybe the spikes that had been mentioned were different.
The shifter noticed her staring, because that was exactly what she was doing at this point, and only nodded their head at her in acknowledgement. Having others stare at them must be a normal thing now. Kina could only give a very short nod of her own head as her free hand lifted in the most awkward wave she’d ever given in her life.
As they passed by she turned her head to look at the other constellations. If it had just been speckles then she’d not have thought anything of it. But it looked as though the dots that represented the stars of each one were connected by faint lines. Showing where each constellation was. It intrigued Kina to say the least.
When they were fully past her she had to face forward again, her task of getting across the bridge still needing done. Her focus went to that but her mind still thought about the new trait she’d just seen. If she remembered the rumors correctly then it seemed that certain tribes had certain traits that popped up. Being that she was of mixed blood she had to wonder which of the mentioned traits she might end up with. Obviously constellations were out of the question since she didn’t have any shifter blood at all and no ties to the night sky and it’s treasures. She did, however, have Water and Ice. Her own siblings had the spots of the Matori. Which Kina found lovely on them but figured if she were to get any type of spots it would simply be mundane. But what about the Ice traits?
Was it possible for her to get something from them? Skin white like snow? Did she want to have that color on her? When she’d made each of her outfits compliment the skin tone she had now? Likely not. She’d have to redo her whole wardrobe to even look right. So then surely there was something else she could get? Hadn’t there been mention of skin that looked frostbitten somewhere?
As she stepped foot off the bridge she let go of the safety rope and looked at her hand. How would it look with frostbite? Would it be white like frost or the black of dead digits? Kina scrunched up her nose at the thought of either one. Neither seemed appealing to her. Perhaps she would need to find a way to keep herself from getting such a random trait to begin with. But what was it that granted such things to people? Fate? A magic that they came into contact with? Old age?
There were so many possibilities and Kina wasn’t sure how to avoid them all. Maybe she could stop the next person she saw with those traits and ask them when they first noticed them and what they had been doing at the time. Or what they’d done in life.
