Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7

A new craze is sweeping across Tendaji and everyone from the rich to the nomads are finding themselves swept into the excitement. Even you have heard about this new trend of going out into the world and hunting for treasure.

For the seasoned treasure hunters, it's a bit laughable to think it's just that easy to go and get rich, but they can appreciate the enjoyment many are getting from wading into the rivers and streams, sifting through stone, and occasionally pulling up a precious treasure to call their own.

But how easy is it, really? And are you lucky enough to strike gold?

[ IThis event prompt includes an extra step - you will need to roll a dice and react to the result. Will you be lucky enough to find something precious? Or just come up with a few rocks and cold feet?

Only the gods of luck will know - but fortune always favored the bold. So head on over to your local body of water, bring a sifting tool that many have claimed works like a charm, and see what comes up with this hot new craze. ]

2 - 10: Something Shiny That looks promising... Use the second roll to calculate your results.

1 - 5: Better Than Nothing A common gemstone...maybe it fell off a passing traveler. You could probably put it to use.

WC - 773

Since she'd taken a small hiatus from working major jobs recently, due to the children, she'd become a bit bored. So that meant that Thea was up for any kind of adventure really. So when she'd heard about the newest craze going around, some prospecting thing, she'd decided that she might as well give it a go. What was the worst that could happen? She might not find anything. But she could still enjoy a day, or even just a few hours, at the river. Even that would be more of a distraction than sitting at home.

So that led to her getting the things she'd needed, such as a sifting pan and jar to put anything small she discovered into. Thea didn't think she'd find something big that would make her rich but she did hope to find a small bit of gold or even a nice valuable rock. She'd even settle for a ring someone lost in the water! Maybe even a bracelet had slipped off someone? Thea smiled at the idea.

She slipped off her shoes and left them at the side of the river, not wanting to get them wet. Theanduri didn't really mind so much but the constant squish of wet shoes did get annoying after a while. So she preferred them dry.

Once that was done she lifted the legs of her pants and waded into the water with her sifting pan in hand. The water was cold on her skin and she gave a shiver at the sudden change. Of course was got acclimated pretty quickly and was able to focus afterwards.

With her eyes scanning the water around her she tried to figure out where would be the best place for her to try her luck. It took a moment or two but she eventually found a spot that looked like it would be worth the effort so she leaned down and put the pan in the water. She went slow so she didn’t disturb the surface of the water too much. It was hard enough to see because the current caused small ripples. She also didn’t want to stir up too much dirt.

As she reached the bottom she dug the pan in gently, using all the patience she had to keep from making the water murky. When she thought she had it in enough she tilted it and lifted up. There was no avoiding the cloud of murk and dirt that happened this time but as she was pulling the pan up now she didn’t mind so much.

With the pan out of the water she shifted it and shook so that the thinner stuff fell right out. Only larger rocks were left behind. Though they were covered in dirt. So she dipped them into the water just enough to rinse them off. When Thea looked at them again she noticed most were common rocks. But there was one that stood out.

A common gemstone sat in her pan.

A grin spread on her face as she looked at the gemstone. While it wasn’t some vast fortune or anything like that it was still more than a mere rock. Theanduri hadn’t really had high hopes for this little endeavor anyways so this was a win for her. With one hand she reached over and plucked the stone from the pan so she could hold it up to the light.

She took in the colors and how it shone in the light. Clearly it was well polished. Someone must have dropped it into the water at some point. A shame really. But their loss was her gain. She was not so noble as to try and find its owner. They could count themselves lucky she hadn’t plucked it out of their pocket at least.

“You will make a nice gift for my daughter.” She smiled at the stone.

Zasha would like the little thing. It would give her something to turn into jewelry or maybe it would just sit on her shelf and be a paperweight. Who knew. Either way, Thea was pleased with the find.

Her eyes went back to the water and she debated on whether or not she wanted to try for another or if she should stop now. Some noise to the side answered the question for her, however, as it looked like there was a group headed her way and they had things for a picnic. Thea wasn’t about to stick around and be someone’s entertainment. So out of the water she got and she made sure to grab all of her other things before leaving, gemstone in hand.
