»»» BACKGROUND: Born to the Japanese hero Blitz, and a woman named Akasha. Scarlet's childhood was fairly normal, until she was three, and her mother disappeared. Her father, Li, told her that she'd simply gone away for a while. But that was far from the truth. But she would not see or hear of her mother again for another four years. At least, not knowingly, there were news stories through the years that covered a villain that went by Blood Shade.
Late in the night, Scarlet woke up to a woman looking over her bed. Screaming out of fear, before she began to recognize who it was, her father was in the room in the blink of an eye. Yelling at her to run, Scarlet scrambled out of the room as her two parents began to fight.
For what seemed like an eternity, young Scarlet hid under the stairs. The only entrance or exit, a board that could be removed, if one knew how. When things went quiet, Scarlet began to think that it was over. Yet a soft, and eerie singing came from the other side of the thin boards. Blood Shade called to her, attempting to lure her out of the hiding spot. The young girl was too scared to make a noise as silent tears rained down her face. The woman on the other side explained that she knew she was still in the house, that she could feel her presence, that they were bonded, and she would always know where Scarlet would be, no matter where she hid.
As Scarlet listened to nails drag across the boards of the stairs. Salvation arrived, as heroes and police arrived. Though Scarlet could not make out what was going on, the board moved, and she was met with the face of her father's friend. Leading the young girl out of the hiding spot, he tried to keep Scarlet from seeing the results of the battle, but Scarlet caught a glimpse of something that would haunt her dreams for years to come. The mutilated corpse of her father in the dining room, as they left.
From that day Scarlet's life forever changed. Sent to Japan to live with her grandfather. The happy young girl was replaced with a shell of who she used to be, for years. Her grandfather put her through the same training that he'd given her father. Without so much as an ounce of sympathy for what she lost. Though he was going through more pain that she could realize, together they hyper focused on her training. Her grandfather, Lee, would not make the same mistake he made with Scarlet's father, he would not let her slack or leave her training half done. He would not lose another child or grandchild.
Years would pass, and Scarlet took her training to heart. Becoming a teacher at her grandfather's dojo for those that were too inexperienced to partake in the advanced training. Participating in more than a few tournaments, Scarlet developed a friendly rivalry with a student from another dojo, Youji. Often looking forward to when they'd meet, to talk s**t, and prove that she was going to be better than him. For anyone that only knew her at a surface layer, they'd think she'd adjusted well all things considered. Though she still harbors a deep resentment and yearning to destroy her mother. Drawing upon that rage to push herself further.
Though her grandfather doesn't think highly of professional heroes, with her acceptance into UA, he begrudgingly congratulated her. Supporting her choice, on the condition that she would continue her training and mentoring at the dojo. With her being the last of his descendants, the dojo would fall to her, if she could prove herself worthy.

✦Dhampier :: Possessing a slightly altered physiology, and the ability to control blood. With enhanced speed, strength, durability, and healing, at a cost. After over exerting herself pass her normal limits, Scarlet will start to become anemic, and organs will begin to shut down until she able to rest or feed. Also capable of manipulating and harden blood, though she is only capable of doing so to her own blood, or someone's blood she's recently fed off of.
✦Feed :: Scarlet uses her enhanced canines to puncture the skin of someone and consume their blood. Doing so, her body temporarily assimilates it. Using it to repair her own body, enhance strength, and allows her to exert some control over the victim's blood. Feeding can, and has, led her to falling to bloodlust. Getting drunk in a way off the power, and going into a blind state where she does not see friend or foe, only food.
