Langite was again looking up at the stars, and again he wished that he could see more. One of these days he was going to take a trip to the middle of nowhere and just lay on the ground and…
And stargaze. And it was going to be wonderful, and he would leave the trip utterly content and pleased with himself…but. Of course when he thought that everything was going great and he had a moment alone, there was the feeling of a senshi. And one that was stronger than he was…well.
That was fine. He could handle himself, without any issue he was sure.
Quietly he made his way closer to the aura, wondering if it was anyone that he knew, and when he saw the white clad senshi with…bridal themed fuku he blinked, wrinkling his nose slightly.
It…almost seemed…somewhat familiar. And as Langite’s feet continued to move him forward, he blinked, swallowing.
“...Ilse?” He couldn’t be completely sure, but…that was who it reminded him of.
If it was Ilse…then she followed her heart…and he was proud, though rather sad for his own loss.

Ilse found that it was easier, these days, being alone. She liked the quiet of the less traveled parts of the city at night, and she liked not...running into other people.
But there was a corrupt aura approaching, and Ilse felt a jolt of fear. What was she going to do if it was someone she knew? Or someone who wanted to try and drag her back, or--
There were a million "or"s and not a lot of answers. So she froze up, and tried her best not to panic.
But the person she saw was....familiar in a good way. Langite was good. Langite was decent. Langite had encouraged her to follow her heart.
"Hi," Ilse said quietly. "It's me, just....a little different?"

For a long moment, he could only look at her, taking in all of the little details on her fuku, and soon, Langite felt a small smile curling onto his face. “So. You followed your heart, and I hope this means that your true love did not hate you? You two are living your happily ever after?”
Walking forward, he drew Ilse into a hug, hand reaching up to tuck a tendril of hair behind her ear. “I am so happy for you, Ilse. And proud of you too. That took a lot of courage.”
She was gone though. Never again would they be able to work so well together…but Langite worked hard to shove that thought away. This was her happiness that was important. Not his.

His question made Ilse hesitate. She had followed her heart, yes, but....her true love.....well.
"She doesn't hate me, no," she said, "but it's a little more complicated than an easy happily-ever-after. But that's okay, life doesn't have to be like books." Even if she wanted it to be so badly it made her chest hurt. She wanted it to be easy. But it just....wasn't.
"But I'm definitely happier now. And....there's a whole planet, out there, that's all mine. Langite, it's beautiful."

He gave a soft, sad smile when she said that things hadn’t gone completely well, but.
“I’m so glad that you’re happier, and I’m glad that she doesn’t hate you. You don’t deserve to be hated. You deserve to be loved. I know that she’ll fall for you. That you’ll find happily ever after. I believe it. If anyone deserves it…it’s you, Ilse.”
Langite squeezed her in the hug a little tighter and then let her go. “A planet? You…have been up to space?”
Interest sparked in his eyes, and he swallowed. “...If you would ever want to…would you allow me to come too? I would truly like to see what space is like. Even if I detest those who invade us.”

It felt so warm, and safe, in Langite's hug--the way she imagined it might feel to be hugged by a family member, not that she could...remember having any.
One of the many things she'd traded for freedom.
"I hope you're right," she said, and she squeezed. "And, hey--is there anyone special in your life? I don't think I've ever asked." She hoped so. Langite deserved to have someone. He was so sweet, and kind.
Even if they had worked together to bring someone into the Negaverse by force, and that was....bad. Ilse was pretty sure that was bad.
"But--I--yes! I'd love to take you to see my planet! I can't go super often, I don't think, but as soon as I can, I'll come find you!" He should get to see her world. Get to see what it was like out there.

Langite seemed to light up with her assent, and nodded. “Thank you. That makes me so happy. I…want to see the stars properly…but. The city makes that difficult, and I always seem to find myself staring up at them lately.” He smiled softly, and a little sadly. “Whenever you are in the mood to take me, I will be in the mood to go, just so you are aware. As for me, no. I have nobody special. It’s just myself. I haven’t…”
He hesitated, thinking of what he wanted to say and finally shrugged. “I haven’t found anyone worth my interest. If that doesn’t sound too stuck up.” It did sound quite stuck up but. There was nothing for it. It was how he felt and how he thought of himself. “I’ve never found someone worth my time…or wanted to.”
It was kind of sad, to think about.

"Oh," Ilse sighed, "the stars are beautiful on my planet. No light pollution or anything, since...." Her shoulders dropped. "Well, since it's. Mostly all dead. But there's still a little bit there, and I think...I think if I work really hard, and love it a lot, I can make it better."
That was all she wanted. To put in effort, and have it rewarded.
His answer made her frown, but only fore a moment, and then she gave a little nod. "No, it makes sense. You should look for someone who's good for you, not just....someone who's fun for right now, or someone who's there and you're lonely. That's how you end up in bad situations. Better to be picky, I think."

Langite nodded and swallowed. “I want to see the stars. Ilse, I know you can do it. If anyone can bring something back to life, it’s you.” He smiled softly and cupped her cheek once more, stroking it gently. “I’m…glad that you understand. I’m glad that we’re friends. Meeting you has been one of my favorite memories, just so you’re aware.”
He hesitated and sighed, drawing away once again. “Perhaps one day I will find someone, but right now it’s not…anything I’m worried about. Thank you for worrying though. It means a lot to me. I should go, I think. I hope that when we meet again you can take me to see all of the work you’ve done with your planet. I hope that it is thriving by then. And I hope that you and your lady love are thriving too.”
She deserved it. If anyone did, Ilse did.

Ilse reached up to gently squeeze Langite's hand, where it rested on her cheek. "I would be glad to show you."
He should be the first guest to her world. It felt right. He had bene the first person she really worked with in the Negaverse, and....he had encouraged her to get free.
"Stay safe," she said, "and we'll meet again soon. And I hope...you do find someone who lives up to your standards someday."
She gave a brief bow, and then turned to leave. It was always good to get to see a friend, she thought. Left her feeling better about things.
And maybe someday, Langite would see that he could be free, too.
