It was so nice to be out and be alone. Lysithea appreciated that everyone had missed her, that they all wanted to talk with her and stay by her side, but she had become so used to relative solitude in her office and was growing more and more overwhelmed with everyone…crowding her.

She knew that it was all because they were worried but…

She wasn’t a child.

This was a war, there would be dangers, there would be casualties…and she couldn’t work on helping people if she had a crowd following her everywhere she went. Lysithea had no intention of fighting anyone anyway, so the idea of a group of watchdogs was just intimidating. If things got dicey, she could just tele–

Pausing in her walking, her brows furrowed and she sighed. Just kidding. She couldn’t teleport anymore. Now, that would be something she would honestly miss. The freedom to just leave an unwelcome situation with nothing more than a thought. It was…wonderful.

The feeling of a Knight just ahead of her made Lysithea absolutely bristle. Her hands clenched into fists, and she just knew it was someone sent to find her. To make sure she was all right. That she hadn’t been taken by chaos again.

Swiftly she crossed the space between herself and what was probably Michel, the a*****e. She was seething. “Seriously? You’re going to follow me when I sneak out of the house to get a few minutes to myself? Are you seriously that obsessed with–oh my god. I don’t even know you. Oh my god, I am so sorry!”

It was not Michel. In fact, she had no idea who this Knight was, but she did know that she was swiftly turning red with embarrassment.

Valhalla still didn't know what he was hoping to find, but he went out as often as he could, hoping and waiting for maybe the pinprick of the energy from a Princess. Or a message sent saying that they found her.

When the Super Senshi approached him and started scolding him, he didn't even register that it was someone who might have been upset with him. He hadn't felt like himself in weeks. He hadn't slept more than a couple hours each night, and when he wasn't sleeping he was out looking, and when he wasn't out looking, he was making sure his children and mother had everything they needed.

"It's okay," was all he could manage to say. He could see that she was embarrassed and apologetic, but he couldn't find it in himself to be offended that anyone would have yelled at him.

Focusing was difficult, and he lifted a hand to rub at his face. Maybe he was expecting Cybele, but this was definitely not her.

Lysithea shook her head and hesitated. “You good? You look…really tired? Is everything okay?” Her flare of anger had all but burnt out the moment that she saw it wasn’t Michel, but the worry that had crept in when she really took in his appearance was growing by the moment. “I’m Sailor Lysithea, Senshi of Unicorns…are you hurt? I know I have healing magic if you need it, if not, um…”

She looked thoughtful and pulled her music box. “This…always helps me relax, I can play it for you if you want to sit and talk about whatever is bothering you? It’s the least I can do to make up for starting this by screaming at you…my family is um. A little over protective right now, to say the least.”

Her eyes were almost nervous, hoping that she hadn’t done something to upset the knight but, not sure if she had anything else to offer if she had.

He could hear her speaking, but exhaustion and despair had him focusing only on a few words.

"Lysithea?" he asked, as though having to confirm it. He thought she'd been taken by the Negaverse. Was this the same that Sessrumnir told him about?

Valhalla did his best to focus on the young woman, noting that she was looking anxious now, and was offering her magic and talking about her family.

His breath hitched a little at the thought, and how he had no idea what was happening to his wife. If she was alive, or dead like his father.

"Valhalla," he offered, and it was all he could manage. "People were looking for you. You… you found a way out…? How? Who…"

Who could have purified her if not Ganymede? Who else was there that was still around and accessible?

Lysithea nodded, giving a tiny, hopeful smile. “Ah yeah. That’s me…did you know me before too?” She didn’t like that, feeling the old familiar dread sinking into her stomach as she thought about it. But, as long as he didn’t try to keep tabs on her like everyone else did.

And then, his name.

She swallowed and looked at him. “Like…Ganymede’s Valhalla? She says that she loves you. I was…I was in charge of healing her…the last time we spoke, she said to find you if I left, and then…to tell you that she loves you. So…” She hesitated, and then made a gesture that looked like it was thinking about becoming finger guns, but turned into more of just a wiggle.

“....She was still really feisty when I saw her, if um…that helps. And Malus, we went to his homeworld and Cosmos came…”

Hopefully Valhalla wouldn’t think she was as tactless as she felt but…

She had delivered the message at least.

"Ganymede's alive??" he stared at Lysithea, his breath catching again as he could only imagine what they were doing to her. "You were… in charge of healing her…"

Then who was healing her now? How much longer did she have? Was she still alive? She needed to get to her world to regulate her energy from being transcended, but… what were they even doing to her?

There were too many questions he wanted to ask, too many things he knew he couldn't burden someone he'd only just met.

Cosmos was back? He thought no one had been able to reach her since before the Velencians showed up.

"Thank you," he said quietly. "I'm glad you're okay. I… I'm sorry to ask, but where was she? If there's a chance to save her… Why didn't you bring her with you if you could get out?"

It was probably rude of him to ask. He knew how dangerous it was, but… if she had access to Ganymede, if she had a way to escape without them realizing… why didn't she try to save her?

“Ah…she…she was a week ago. That was when I last saw her, but I’m not sure after that…I’m sorry.” She felt guilty now, why hadn’t she just taken Ganymede with her? Now that she was out, it seemed like it would have been the smartest idea…

Swallowing, Lysithea shook her head. “She was in a cell, it wasn’t comfortable, it’s not somewhere you could go…um. And I can’t teleport any longer so I can’t go get her now…I…” She felt her eyes begin to burn and mentally kicked herself. “She didn’t ask me to…I wasn’t…thinking I guess. I didn’t even…I should have…the thought didn’t even pass through my mind, I was so focused on myself…and I’m so sorry…”

Herself and the confrontation with Faustite, if she would have just…but…it would have been all over if that had been the case. She would have vanished without any resolution or knowledge of her brother’s lies.

But still…

“I’m so sorry, Valhalla…”

Valhalla felt as though his heart had all but stopped. He wasn’t sure if he was breathing. A week could mean a lot of things. She might have been alive then, but what about now?

He thought that no, of course she wouldn’t have asked someone to put themselves in danger for her. She must have known that the chances of her getting out without someone willing and uncoerced, with the risk of being killed if they were found out, was almost impossible.

Her request to tell him that she loved him sounded more and more like a goodbye.

“I’m glad you’re safe now. I know she’d be glad you’re safe,” he said, his words sincere even if they sounded dulled in his own ears. She’d offered to sit and talk, to listen to her music box, but he couldn’t just stand there and waste time. Not when a week had passed already.

“Thank you for letting me know. Maybe… maybe I can talk to Cosmos. She got us out of Negaspace before, maybe…”

Maybe she could do it again. She hadn’t been able to help him the last time he spoke with her, but maybe this time…

Lysithea nodded, watching him for a few moments and then nodded. “...She’ll be okay. Let me give you my number…when she gets out, if she needs my magic…”

There was paper in her subspace pocket, and a pen as well. She had been planning on trying to write a journal or maybe to actually see about forming any kind of a story, but instead, she jotted down her phone number, writing a little heart over the “i” in Talia. “She’ll be fine, Valhalla. She’ll get out. She’s strong, and she was very feisty…”

She gave a small, worried smile. “Call me if you need me, and not just for her…I’m good at healing. It’s what I do. No matter what time it is, I’ll be there. Promise.”

Valhalla waited. Because even though he desperately wanted to continue his search, he knew there wasn’t going to be an easy way to find Cosmos. Maybe Caedus could help? Anyone who knew how to get in or out of Negaspace. It would have been easier if they had someone who could teleport, but…

No, there was no use in dwelling on the what ifs. He knew Ganymede wouldn’t have asked. She wouldn’t have put that on someone else to risk themselves. It would have needed to be decided entirely by the other person, and even then he didn’t know if Lysithea would have had the power to hide Ganymede once they escaped.

He wanted Ganymede back desperately, but he wasn’t so naive to think that it would be easy to rescue her. Or possible at all. She can’t just get out on her own. She’ll need someone to help her.

Unfortunately, it seemed like their best chance had already escaped the Negaverse.

“Thank you,” he said quietly once more, and gave her a small nod. He wasn’t sure how much time he had, but he was going to do whatever he could to save his wife.
