Andreiya couldn’t risk anyone else getting into his greenhouse. His plants were in danger, Dylas could be in danger. He needed better security, better deterrents. He could put traps outside of the greenhouse but he didn’t want to risk doing anything that could disrupt or stress the plants–or Dylas!–out.
So, he was trying a few different options.
He liked his little smoke bombs. He liked the little light flashes. He wasn’t sure if he liked the things that made noise, and he definitely didn’t want to hurt anyone. Just scare them away! Without scaring the plants. Or Dylas.
He couldn’t stop thinking about the snake–what if he got out? What if he set off a trap? How was he going to keep his greenhouse safe without doing anything that could hurt him?
There were so many options. Andreiya just didn’t know the right path–yet.
So, he was out testing a few things. He had booby trapped a small area of the park with a few different traps and was planning on rolling marbles through the sensors to try and figure out what worked best.
Everything was set and ready to go–a little smoke trap, some lasers, and some repurposed firecrackers. In the worst case scenario, a little sound and sparkle would be fine. He just needed to make sure the powder wasn’t too explosive.
He didn’t think anyone was out at this time of night so he wasn’t too worried; he hadn’t seen anyone when he snuck off to go sit behind a wall for safety–just to make sure!
Except, while in the process of setting up his camera to record the tests, he wound up back on the internet.
He shouldn’t have signed up for that app. Any time he looked at his phone he had a new picture of some cute animal doing some cute thing and he couldn’t help but look, and looking at one picture turned into looking at ten, and–
Oh, right. His tests. He had to finish those first.

It was utterly unsettling to be mind one’s business and then to suddenly be jumping backwards as firecrackers went off under your feet, and smoke began to pour out of the ground.
Langite was far too dignified to yelp, but it was a close thing. He darted backwards, eyes wide and confused, and when he looked around, and his eyes lit on the brown haired alien who stood just a few yards away, anger flared through him.
These damn invaders. They were here and they shouldn’t be. They were here and it was simply to ******** with the planet. To ruin everything.
To Hell with the alliance that the Negaverse had with these Velencians. This one had attacked, and that made it personal.
“You. You dirty, filthy alien. You are not welcome here. You have long overstayed your welcome, we don’t want those from space on this planet!” Langite advanced swiftly, eyes cold and expression one of anger. Such a far cry from his normal calm demeanor. “You set traps for the people here. I will see that you cease to exist after tonight.”
He looked at the male and then closed his eyes, looking away. “I long.”

The firecrackers made Andreiya squeak in alarm but before he could scramble up and justify anything, the Senshi was attacking him. A Negaverse Senshi, too. His stomach twisted and churned and dread flooded through him, and all he wanted was to go home. Badly! Not just his home with all the pillows and cute things here in Destiny City, but home, too! Real home! Velencya! He wanted to be with his friends and family, he wanted to make the Commodore proud, he wanted to find a way to heal Velencia!
“No!” he shouted, but the prickle of longing had already swept over him. “You don’t understand, I wasn’t trying to set traps for you!”
He fumbled for his gun because he wasn’t interested in death threats.
He didn’t want to fire it, he sort of just wanted to run. But all his things were here! He needed the data! Also he needed to be alive to process the data, too, but everyone would be so disappointed in him if he didn’t clear this up!
“It’s for my garden! I don’t want people to break in! It’s not lethal, look! You’re not hurt!” he said desperately.

“You shouldn’t have a garden. You shouldn’t be here. You are the reason this war goes on. You and those of you who invade this planet. All of you from space should just go and don’t come back. You’re not wanted. You’ve never been wanted.”
His voice was almost a snarl, and honestly, Langite was surprised. He wasn’t normally one for such anger…for such emotions without logic behind them but…
He was truly passionate about this. It was why he had been chosen. To protect the Earth. To protect his people and his home. These things shouldn’t be here. Shouldn’t be gardening. Shouldn’t even exist. And if he could stop their existence. He would.
Speeding up, Langite held his hand out, aiming right for the chest of the Corporal.

Andreiya didn’t want to be here. Didn’t want to deal with people yelling at him. He hadn’t been scared like this for months. Thoughts escaped his mind and he reacted instinctively. He pulled out his blaster and fired it without really aiming.
He’d told Naeria that in combat you didn’t have the luxury to react slowly and he’d tried to work with her on speed and the necessity of acting quickly.
He’d have to leave his things behind, he didn’t have the passion or anger this man did.
Andreiya fired at him; the blaster wasn’t lethal, but it could cause a tingling numbness in a one foot radius of anywhere it hit. He was tall, he had long legs. He bolted as soon as the blast fired.
He was going to keep his starseed.
His plants needed him. The Vanguard needed him.
He wasn’t going to let this Senshi kill him.

Langite hadn’t counted on the damn alien having a blaster, and when it hit his shoulder, he felt his arm go numb, and his shoulder, all the way to his midsection. His face grew numb too, and the senshi stumbled, giving what was almost a growl and shaking his head to try and clear away the numbness, but.
By the time it did leave, so had the member of the Vanguard.
With a huff, he looked around where the male had been and took his time, setting off each and every trap that had been laid, and working to destroy whatever he could of what the guy had left.
If he couldn’t take his starseed, then he would at least make sure that he had to work twice as hard to do whatever the hell he had been doing. Plans for attacking the Earth, most likely.
Truthfully, it didn’t matter, and the guy could have been just minding his own business but. He shouldn’t be here. And if Langite ever saw him again…he would make sure that he didn’t stay on the planet any longer.
