"They fixed it?" Athalia's tone was one of surprise as he examined the holographic image in his palm. It had been quite a few months since it had last been used and based on some of the anomalous data at points he had previously scanned, he could only assume that several of the small bugs had fallen in to disrepair. Regardless, it functioned much as it always had and provided insight into the most recent signs of chaotic activity. Whether it be a youma lair or an agent, if they stayed long enough or visited with enough frequency, then it was guaranteed to catch his eye.

"Yes, though I'm not really sure how..." Namielle had been chattering in his ear since they had left the house. While she had seen fit to update him on some of the more important events that had occurred in his absence, her constant chatter had become a sign of anxiety and unease. Ever since that day she had not felt comfortable on her own, not felt comfortable without the support of another that she knew would be ok. Anything that required her aid was likely to cause the unfortunate feline to hyperventilate.

"Quite the revelation," he murmured, flicking through to another area of the city, his lips pursed. It was suspiciously quiet in former haunts which could only mean they had either been snuffed out or they had moved. Being blind was not his preference, he preferred that his intelligence was fresh and he concluded that the only option he had for the next week or so was to replace all of the damaged bugs and then begin to plant more elsewhere.

"They are full of surprises, it would seem," he added and finally looked towards the Mauvian as she sat on the wall beside him. "Though less inclined to share the information, I would imagine," he remarked. It was a statement, one built upon assumptions, but if the Mauvian hadn't been told how such a miracle had been performed then he sincerely doubted they would be forthcoming with the details.

...Granted, Namielle hadn't asked yet, but she had made a promise and she intended to keep it. She hadn't asked Lyndin yet, she hadn't even told anyone who had managed to do it. For all anyone in her inner circle knew, the Valencians simply had extremely advanced technology and given their disposition, they weren't open to sharing it. More importantly, loose tongues had a way of causing havoc if they spoke to the wrong individuals (and bless their hearts, but some of her own side did rather like to talk).

"I think that deep down they may have good hearts, even if they may need to careful review what they did to us," she replied after a moment.

"How an individual reacts in desperation is normally an indication of their true self," Athalia noted the rippled of energy across one portion of his map, weak, but consisting of both Order and Chaos. "Cornering allies under the protect of neutrality is considered a war crime in human terms."

"They aren't human though."

"Correct. Which means that they're unlikely to been accepted here until they can reconcile the necessity to respect our way of existence," Athalia seemed disinclined to argue and motioned for her to hop on to his shoulder. It was an instruction that she took with a graceful bounce and settled herself carefully.

"Sounds like you wouldn't trust any of them," she hazarded

"They'll need to earn trust if they seek it," he replied coolly, forcing her to suck in a surprised breath as the newly primed Eternal launched himself into the air.

In a somewhat distant part of the city, a Page continued on her quest to protect the vulnerable; and while she had kept her word to run when things began to go pear shaped in recent weeks, it was clear that even in her infancy she had made a number of enemies. One individual in particular was inclined to hold more than a small grudge, and as the Page meandered through the alley ways, dropping occasional parcels of socks and other amenities to the homeless... she remained unaware of the monster that prowled after her, shrouded in shadow.

Her ability to sense danger was still questionably weak, and as she rounded the corner towards a more isolated and empty area behind the buildings, the agent struck.

Slipping out of the shadows with the quietest of steps, the taller woman swept forward and thrust her hand deep into the back of the Moon Page. A second chance to acquire something that had gotten a way from her, the perfect way to acknowledge and reward the senshi for his intervention. As her fingers coiled around the starseed and pulled it front Serenitatis's chest, the Page could do little more than gasp.

To her credit, Cristobalite caught her, lowering her much more slowly than she was often inclined to do with other victims. Then again, her other victims had never served quite the same purpose as this one. She observed the starseed momentarily before peering down at the young woman at her feet with a raised brow.

"Now then...where should I put you so that they'll find you, hm?" she mused thoughtfully.

"A monumental failure," she paused. "But I suppose you'll make for a pretty picture on the news..."

Naeria hadn’t exactly gone out often during the worst parts of winter. She hated cold, she’d found. She hated snow. She’d been happy to stay home, growing mushrooms in her closet and learning to read English.

As the snow melted, though, she’d been venturing out more. She wanted more samples. There was still so much data on Earth that she needed to collect. That was why she was out, cutting through the built up area of the city on the way to a certain park that had a decent amount of biodiversity.

She hadn’t been looking for the Negaverse. She hadn’t been looking for Order, either. She didn’t like or trust either faction enough to want to try researching them, let alone getting involved in their conflict.

It was chance that she turned the right corner at the right time. It was chance that she saw that agent, wrist deep in someone’s chest. It was chance that she saw the starseed.

Naeria didn’t think about Lyndin, and his alliance with the Negaverse. In that moment, she thought about the way Caerynn and Gavaen had been laid out lifeless on the battlefield.

Her blaster was in her hands in a moment. The next, she was pulling the trigger.

“That is not yours to touch,” she said, and for once her voice came out strong.

It was somewhat poetic to have one of the Velencians intervene. The shot collided with her hand and the numbing sensation, that odd static-like tingling, caused her fingertips to flex and release the starseed from her grasp. In those moments it was afforded a chance to float delicately back towards the chest of the prone page, and the agent very slowly and deliberately turned to face the individual who had interrupted her.

The Page was of no concern, weak as she was and with no combat experience, Cris could comfortably bring the woman to heel again if necessary... but the Velencian, well that was a touch more interesting. She'd come armed and she had made the very deliberate decision to assault her agent. Dear, dear, were they not supposed to have fallen in to line, had the Queen not seen to that when she had pulled their pitiful souls to the Negaverse when their own weapon imploded?

Hmph.

"How unfortunate," she mused as she took the young woman in, palm still numb, but with enough dexterity to withdraw the coin from her pocket. "For you at least; I on the other hand, am no longer under orders to contain myself when it comes to your kind," she added and flicked her coin into her other hand, one that while not her dominant, could at least handle her tools better for now.

"I suppose I'll just add you to the list," she released a heavy sigh and darted towards the alien.

She should kept to the tactics that she'd been practicing. She should have found some place to hide in before taking her shot. If that coin in the agent's hands was what she'd been given as a weapon, it would have taken her several seconds to be able to retaliate, in that case.

As it was, Naeria was out in the open, and the agent was charging at her.

Act fast
was the other tactic that she'd been practicing, with Andreyia, so she pulled the trigger on her blaster again as the agent drew closer.

Nothing happened, of course. It was still recharging.

So, when that failed, she had a choice. She could try out some of the hand to hand moves that she'd always struggled with in training. Her other option was to try to get some distance while she waited for her blaster to be ready.

She chose the second option, awkwardly stumbling backwards down the street.
