Welcome to the hiring thread for Masks of the Gods. We're reviving after a hiatus and in order to offer more variety in coloring styles and to give more opportunities for customers we've decided to open up hiring for some colorists and a moderator. This will be open for a couple of months, the exact date is listed below. Depending on the amount of entries we may select a few people before hiring ends but don't worry as all applications will be considered during this time so there's no rush in getting it in.
Rules: 1. These lines are strictly for hiring here at Masks of the Gods and cannot be used anywhere else. The file for the lines will be shared to anyone hired as these are just hiring lines and not the full shop template. 2. Please PM or DM Bluedemonwolf (Discord: Bluedemonwolf#0184) for the hiring lines either here on Gaia or on Discord if you are entering for a colorist position. 3. We will not give our critique until the application is finished. You may request critique after you've heard our initial decision (we will always tell you our decision, whether it's a yes or no.) 4. Being rejected means you can apply again! Everyone grows as time passes and they practice more. 5. All work shown must be your work and your work alone. You may use samples of work from other b/c shops but it must be your work. 6. Please post your completed form here. 7. NEW! If you post an application and it gets denied please wait a month from the PM you received from the shop mule to update your form if you wish to try again. When you do post at the top of your post that it has been updated in bold letters. This only applies so long as hiring is still open since currently there is no end date listed.

Colorists will be a big part of what helps keep Masks of the Gods up and running. Without colorists there won't be a wide variety of new pets for customers being made. Masks of the Gods strives to ensure colorists are comfortable within their role and that all needs are met between customers and colorists. I won't ever ask you to sacrifice RL for the shop, nor will I demand you open your schedule past what you've already offered. I'm very flexible with staff in making changes to your role so it fits what you can handle. The listed requirements are more of an ultimate goal for the shop as I know that since we're a small shop that they may not happen. It is possible for the requirements/quotas to change to better fit the shop and the staff.
I do ask that you are 100% open with me and let me know when things happen. If you applied for full time and suddenly can't meet the requirements, tell me! You can be placed as part time or even guest colorist. If you need a break from the shop due to RL circumstances then let me know and you can go on hiatus for however long you need. If you want to be promoted, ask! I'm here to work with you and am happy to help make the requirements fit everyone's needs. If you vanish for months and leave work piled up without a reason why, I might have to remove you. There will be several attempts to reach you, via Gaia and Discord, before it gets to the point where you will be removed due to inactivity. However, if I see you posting in other shops consistently and clearly around while having abandoned your work and the customers, you'll be removed. I just ask for honesty and communication.
Full time colorists are expected to contribute 2 pets for a quick sale or raffle each month. Full time colorists are expected to open customs 6 times a year and breedings 4 times a year. Bribes are allowed once all main work for the month is completed.
Part time colorists are expected to contribute 1 pet for a quick sale or raffle each month. Part time colorists are expected to open customs 4 times a year and breedings 3 times a year. Bribes are allowed once all main work for the month is completed. You can be promoted to full time by request.
Guest colorists are asked to contribute when and where they can in terms of quick sales or raffles each month. Guest colorists are expected to open custom slots twice a year as well as breedings twice a year. In order for Guest colorists to open bribes they have to do one pet for a sale or raffle for the month if they are not offering customs or breedings that month (if they are offering customs or breedings and finish them then they can open bribes). Guest colorists are not going to be the main focus in terms of staff for the shop. You can be promoted to part time or full time by request.
All colorists are expected to have some general activity and involvement with the customers. All colorists are also asked to participate in events (big or small themed events). We will have at least 2 months notice to work on pets for events. There is no set quota on how many pets have to be completed by each colorist at this time.
Expectations: - We're looking to add at least [3] colorists! We may hire more or less, but the goal is 3. New! We're looking for 1-2 more full or part time colorists. All guest colorists positions have been filled. - You do not need to know how to edit, although it is a perk! - You need to have a coloring program that can handle layers and folders such a clip studio paint, sai, photoshop, etc. - You may be a colorist and a moderator at the same time. - Please understand the position you're applying for and, at the time of applying, be truthful in the amount of time you can dedicate to the shop! - Color inside the lines and keep things nice and clean. We don't really have restrictions on edits and colors (and the small ones we do restrict for edits we'll discuss if/when hired). - Lines do not need to be colored although you are free to do so. - DO NOT shade the body. Eyes and certain edits should be the only things to get shading. The pets are all flat colored and the few things with shading are to just help make them pop. - All stages from mask to adult need to be completed before the pet is dropped. All stages must go through the approval process as well. - A mask must always be made for every pet. While we do offer mask to adult growths it is preferred that pets go through the full growth of mask - child - adult. If you are hired then you will be asked to make a mask for your hiring examples (you may also do a child stage if you so desire).
Payment: - Every colorist will be paid with staff credits and gold/plat for their work. This should be logged at the end of the month. - All colorists get 100% of what you make from customs, breedings, flatsales, raffles, auctions no matter their position. This applies only to work that you do that is not part of an event (these are big or small themed events that all colorists can take part in). Monthly sales or raffles do not count as an event even if multiple colorists take part in it. - All colorists also get 90% of what they make for events. The 10% remaining will be used to help pay technical staff (moderators, certist, etc.).
Application: - The application is fairly simple! Request files by PMing or DMing Bluedemonwolf and you'll be sent the male and female hiring lines - If applying for an unedited colorist position, ignore the edit list below. If applying to do edited pets, pick at least 1 edit from the list below to put onto 1 or more of your samples. - You must make 3 samples at least and breed two of them to make a 4th sample as their child. You are free to make more samples than this. So to clarify you need 4 samples total, 3 'normal' samples and then one that is a 'breeding' sample between 2 of those 3. - Please shade the eyes. While we do have a shading template for the eyes I want to see how you'd shade them.

Previous Shop Experience: I was in a couple shops a long long time ago. If you want samples from them I can try to dig them up. Samples: These were based on gemstone theme that I colored. I have hatchlings versions too if you want to see them. The color ratio of the clutch and base color was already picked out for each dragon. I drew and shaded the pelts for the alligator, owl, and thunderhawks. I did the templates for the wind serpents. Owl Shifter, Thunderhawk Shifter, Wind Serpent, Gater shifter I have more samples of these if you wish to see them.

Any notes/comments: I am not good with breedings. As you can no doubt tell, I do tend to go light in the shadow area of the eyes. I promise you there is a shadow there.

Previous Shop Experience: UHHHHHHH a lot, but I can make a list of a few: - I own Everchange on Basilisk Stew, which has been around for over 5 years - I work in Modifoxes and have for at minimum 5+ years - I work for Pokemon Expeditions on Basilisk Stew - I work for Cats of the Sun on Basilisk Stew - I've worked in at least 5 prior shops that have all shut down by now

Some of these have line edits done by my spouse, as we collaborate for Everchange due to my disability.
Any notes/comments: I am disabled and currently have an injury, as well as run an adopt shop as my full-time job. I have spurts of hyper-activity for projects not my own/healthy moments, so sometimes I'll make more work than necessarily fits a guest-position but will still need adequate time off to handle my own business and medical flares, which is why I opted for a guest-position.
I also color eyes in multiple different styles, lmao
Additionally, I have mostly quit Gaia and migrated to a different website, so please please contact me via Discord, which I have up constantly and will ASAP respond! Nudge me there if you need me for Gaia tasks, as you'll get an immediate response and me to do what I need to for Gaia!
