One day to go, in twenty four hours she would be starting her happily ever after with Guinevere. Again she was on a patrol, and again she half hoped that she would run into Gwen now, just so she could start her future sooner.
It wasn’t Gwen that she ran into however, it was Dagon, and when her eyes landed on the exotic senshi with the lovely hair, her face lit up.
At least she would get to say goodbye, and give her the present she had gotten.
“Dagon!” Tristan called, running over to the senshi and hugging her without thinking, pressing a kiss to her cheek. “I’m so glad I got to see you again before I leave. Tomorrow is the day, so I get to tell you goodbye!”
Good, good. There was a lot of things she wanted to say, but now that the time had come, she swallowed, hesitating. “Have you been okay?”

Dagon was startled. By all of it--by seeing Tristan again, by the hug, by the cheek-kiss. It had bene a very, very long time since she had dealt with so much...touching; even before she was alone, Dagonites had not been a particularity tactile people, and the last offworlders had died long before that.
Still, she forced a polite nod, and a gentle pat on the girl's back. Tristan....was practically the embodiment of "meaning well," really, and even if Dagon still thought she was a fool for her choices...well. they were her choices, being made for good, if misguided--in Dagon's opinion--reasons.
"Tomorrow, hm?" She exhaled. Tristan was clearly set on her course; there was little dissuading her, at this point. "I'm glad to get to say goodbye as well. Have you prepared, then?"
The question about how she'd been gave Dagon pause.
"I....have been thinking. Much. About what you said to me. But I have otherwise been well."

Tristan nodded and drew away, pulling her gift from the subspace pocket. It wasn’t wrapped, she couldn’t quite see Dagon understanding the point of wrapping paper, but she could be wrong, but it was a cute little fish shaped purse with iridescent scales. Holding it out, she grinned. “Open it up, obviously the bag is for you to hold things that you want to, but inside is a little game? It’s called a Tamagotchi, and it’s like a little virtual pet…I know that you lost everyone and everything but…”
She shrugged. “I mean…this isn’t…I mean, I don’t know! I thought it would be a fun little friend for you! I hoped it would keep you company, plus it’s blue, so like…it reminded me of you. I hope you don’t hate it too much!”
If she did…well…hopefully Tristan wouldn't remember the gift.

The gift made Dagon blink. Of all the things she had expected, a goodbye present was not among them. Still, it was with a genuine smile--if a small, restrained one--that she took it and opened it up, withdrawing the little thing inside.
"Oh!" Her delight was muted, but obvious. "What a clever little contraption. Is it Mauvian tech, or are these sorts of things common even for civilians in this era?" It was hard to guess, sometimes--Mau and Mercury had always been leaps and bounds ahead, in her experience, and certainly there was nothing like this on her homeworld, but in her travels, she had encountered technologically produced images before, on occasion. She supposed this would be like that, except it was...an interactable creature.
How clever.
"Thank you, Tristan. I wish you well on your journey, and I appreciate your thoughtfulness." She sighed, briefly. "Please, take care. Of yourself and your beloved. And do not let Chaos warp you too far from who you are."

“Oh, no it’s not Mauvian tech, just a toy. I had one when I was younger, and like I said this one reminded me of you! So, I had to get it for you.” She grinned and nodded, swallowing back sudden tears that tried to come. Even if she had come off somewhat badly in the eyes of this strange alien senshi, she still…considered her a friend. And if she was able to get her to take a more gentle approach with chaos…well.
That was good then. A job well done.
“I won’t let it warp me. I’m not going to change.” Tristan would work hard to make sure that didn’t happen…but she would keep her Gwen safe. She would do her best to continue to put good into the world…it would just be of a different type. “I hope that you find everything you are looking for, Dagon! You deserve every happiness too!”
Tristan wanted to hug her. Wanted to give one last kiss on the cheek, wanted a proper goodbye, but instead she just gave a little wave and smiled. “Be safe.”

"A toy" Dagon hummed. "Well. It is...sweet that you were reminded of me." She tucked the tamagotchi back into the purse, and held it close. It would be...fun, she supposed, to carry that in her civilian guise as Ophelia. A little joke with herself, about who she really was.
Tristan's declaration sounded optimistic, but it wasn't as of Dagon knew too much about how the Negaverse worked. It and the Chaos on her homeworld were different--and certainly, at the least, Metallia didn't seem to be strangling Earth at its very core.
How little she knew. How little she understood. How foolish she had been, to come crashing in and assume that she could know everything.
What Viatrix had told her, what Encke had told her--those things still sat heavy in her heart. But she had bene an idiot to think that things were so simple, so black and white.
And yet. Her pain, her grief, they had not abetted. Not truly.
The little wave got one in return from her.
"You as well, friend."
she would watch Tristan carefully. Find her again, after she had changed--and see what had change in her. That would certainly give her some answers.
