Packing and being ready to leave was going to be the most important thing that Cadence could do, and she decided that giving Gwen a suitcase full of things to keep for her was a great way to plan ahead. Though…the idea of what to bring when she started a new life was…oddly challenging. Honestly, she would be happy to just start over from scratch, so long as she could have Gwen beside her. It felt like she was all that was needed for the recipe of happiness to be truly complete.

The open suitcase on the bed seemed like it was mocking her with the pure fact that it was empty still, and to shut it up, she packed in her teddy bear that she had since early childhood. She still slept with it sometimes, but mostly it just sat on her dresser to watch over her at night.

In went several of her favorite outfits, turtlenecks, skirts, jeans. Summer clothing. Things that she would need. Cadence had withdrawn most of her savings and carefully hid the money in the pockets of each pair of pants…just in case. She wasn’t worried about Gwen stealing anything but. It was simply good form to hide one’s money. Especially when it amounted to several thousand dollars.

Her favorite blanket was folded neatly and placed in the suitcase as well, with her four favorite books placed lovingly on top of the blanket. Her collection of playbills came next, and there were ten, which Cadence thought was pretty impressive number, especially for not living in New York, she could only see shows when she traveled or when tours came through, but…she did her best to see all that she could.

There, the suitcase was looking much more full now, and she hummed softly, looking around her room and tossing in her favorite sun hat and ball cap, and then carefully wrapped her most precious waterglobe, one that showed the New York skyline, her old beacon of where her dreams were going to take her. The towel was wrapped around and around it, and then another one’s protection was added to that, and carefully, Cadence wedged it in between her hats and the clothes, and that was that. Her first suitcase was filled, and she would be able to bring it to Guinevere when she saw her the next day.

Carefully, she zipped the purple polka dotted bag and then put the luggage lock on it, slipping the key into her pocket.

She would store it in her subspace pocket, so that the suitcase could only be opened by her…unless there were wire cutters involved, but again, Gwen wouldn't do that. But, someone else might, and these were her most precious possessions so…it was important that they stayed safe.

With a sigh, Candace looked around her room, lamenting how…empty it looked without the little things that really made it her’s. At least, she wouldn’t be here for much longer, hopefully.

She had to find Mizuki soon…if she didn’t find the girl within a month…she would have to just leave without her, as much as she hated the idea.

It would have to be done, however.

Her destiny was waiting.
