They had made it to the middle settlement in Yael. The trip had gone swimmingly. Pajore was a more crafty place then the other two settlements so he had heard. He figured there would be more stuff for them to look at and enjoy and perhaps he could find some gifts for the girls here that would pique their fashion sense. He wasn't sure he would fare any better at guessing their whims than Varinia but perhaps they could work together to find something their young ladies would enjoy. The air here smelled different and all the vegetation and critters were quite interesting. "Shall we find a place to stay and get settled in and decide if we want to relax for a bit or explore?"

The journey had been interesting. Varinia hadn't really ever been outside of Oba so everything was pretty different for her. Yael definitely was. They'd traveled halfway through, or so she had been told, and still couldn't help but marvel at how s trange everything was to her. "It would probably be wise to try and find a place to stay first. I remember hearing that Yaeli didn't trust outsiders easily so I'm not sure if they'll give us trouble or not." Vari definitely hoped not.

He too preferred to have a home base. "Your right," He certainly wasn't looking for trouble. He just wanted a nice sweet vacation to rejuvenate their spirits. Maybe he could book them a nice massage or something. "I sincerely hope they are in a good mood." He started to look around for a likely inn. One not too fancy and one not too divey. "If you see an Inn you like let me know and we will give it a shot." The journey to get here had been a long one and he was ready to have a home base in this new place. It was so beautiful and more so because it was different. "Its almost like we stepped into a different world."

"Okay, sounds like a plan!" Varinia took his hand in hers as they walked down the street. There were a few places that looked like they were Inns but weren't necessarily marked as she would think so they walked for a few minutes before she found one that was most definitely an inn. "Let's check out this one!" As they got closer she thought she smelled something delicious. "Mmmm, is that coming from the inn? I hope so. It definitely seems like a different world but food could be universal. Different taste but it sure smells good!"

He knew she would be able to find a good one easier than he, she was more sensitive to such things and he was so grateful for that skill. "It does smell wonderful." He held her hand still, the touch bringing him more comfort than she could possibly know. He would do anything for her. He also hoped that walking in with hands clasped would put their potential hosts at ease. "I'm definitely hungry after all of that walking." He hadn't been particularly hungry on the voyage over, being a little green around the gills. He hadn't gone on a ship before their trip. But his stomach was now waking up with a vengeance.
He pushed the big door open and held it for Varinia to come through. The inside of the place looked neat. Hopefully the Innkeeper would appear soon.

Varinia snorted at his comment. "We both know you could walk two steps and be hungry, like any man for that matter." It was almost true for her as well. Being a mom and a caretaker to other kids meant she was constantly on the go. Which also unfortunately meant she didn't have a lot of time to sit down and eat meals so normally she just ate throughout the day which she was okay with. They walked into the inn and Vari blinked her eyes a few times to try and get them to adjust quickly. It looked like most other inns she had ever been in: an abundance of wood tables which patrons would likely take their meals on the first floor. The rooms were probably on the floors above them. To their left it smelled more than looked like it was where the kitchen must be. Turning her attention to her right, she saw a younger yaeli man speaking to a group of yaeli who were seated at a table but as soon as they took a few more steps inside the man's head popped up and what looked to be surprise on his face. The young man approached, "Welcome to Wanjeri Inn. Are you looking for a meal or a place to stay?" He asked politely as he looked back and forth between the couple.

Well she was not wrong. He was almost always hungry. "Thank you, my wife and I are looking for both, our journey went well but it was quite long." He was quite a bit taller than the young man and he hoped his friendly look helped convince them that they meant no harm. "We would greatly appreciate a bit of whatever is making that deliscious aroma in the kitchen area if we may?" He felt like he was being eaten from the inside out. "My name is Reillan and this lovely woman is Varinia." He offered his hand for a handshake. A lot could be told from a handshake.

The young man grasped Reillan's hand in a firm grip, but not overly so. "I believe I can help you with both of those things. The name's Brim. If you'd like to take a seat I'll have someone bring you out some food while I see that your room is ready. Unless you would prefer two room?" Brim looked between the couple again. "One room is fine, Brim, thank you." Varinia said politely and returned the young man's nod as he set off on his tasks. Choosing a table towards the edge of the room so she could see as much of it and all possible entrances, she sat down. Sometimes she was unable to kick some of the early training she had received. "Well, seems nice enough?" She commented as she surveyed the room. They didn't have to wait long before a young woman came to their table with a serving tray. "Here's the special today." She said as she put two rather large bowls of some kind of stew in front of each of them before placing a basket with a small loaf of still warm bread between them. "My brother said you two looked like newly weds so congratulations and enjoy." She said with a wink at Reillan which caused Varinia to narrow her eyes at the girls back.

Reil was pleased with the other man’s grip. “Thank you,” he said not skipping a beat, “ After years of asking she finally said yes, isn’t that right honey?” He gazed adoringly at Varinia like a lovestruck teenager, and thus completely ignoring the girls wink. “Im so happy we get to spend our lives together.” Once the girl was gon ehe grinned. “Good stew huh?”
He theust a spoon into his and sighed at the different but still heavenly aroma. “Nice choice Var.” He reached over and held her non dominant hand for a moment as he saw some serving girls were watching them. He would give them no room to make his wife feel uncomfortable. To him other women just didn’t exist.

"Mhmm." She agreed with a roll of her eyes. He could be so silly sometimes. "So what's on the agenda while we're here? Anything in particular?" Varinia asked between bites. This food was really good. Hopefully the room would be just as nice!

He had hoped to stem any jealous feelings she might have been having and from the eye roll he felt like maybe he had succeeded and she was more irritated with his goofiness then wondering where best to stab their waitress. "Well, I was kind of hoping to explore and such and just see if anything interesting pops up for us that we might want to try. Is there anything in particular you would like to do?"
His whole like was pretty regimented so having this time with Varinia to explore was so very precious to him. "I think some shopping might be in order, I want to at least try to get some things that the girls may or may not like. I would like to buy you some clothes too if anything catches your fancy." He wanted to spoil her. "Maybe after we are finished eating and have settled our stuff in our rooms we can go get the lay of the land."

Nodding, Varinia once more thought that was a good idea. "Sounds like a good plan to me! You know I'd never turn down a chance to go shopping." She could definitely use some new clothes it would just matter if their fashion here worked for her or not. "I guess it will just depend on the style of clothes here. Though we'll have to make sure we don't buy too much otherwise we wont be able to bring it all home. Don't want to weigh the boat down or anything." Varinia jested.

Reil chuckled at the imagery of their return boat listing heavily to one side with all the packages. She was always looking after everyone else and rarely took a moment for herself. He could feel the pent up stress melting out of his body and mind. "Maybe we could get a massage or something, maybe a fancy dinner if we like one of the places in town, a walk on the beach, a late morning to enjoy each other's company." He waggled his brows at her. If anything she was more beautiful than the day they had met. He fell more and more in love with her as time went on. "Do you ever think of maybe having more children? I feel sort of panicked as I know the girls will leave potentially, and well I want to be wanted you know?" By little faces that adored them above everything else and he them in turn.

"Can I chose all of the above?" Varinia asked with a laugh. Some relaxation would be nice since it was something they didn't' get very often. She was actually a little surprised by Reil's question, not because she didn't want any but more because she was surprised by his comment. "You know the girls will always love you regardless of if they're at home or not...right Reillan? As will I." It made her worry about him slightly. "I won't lie and say no I haven't thought about more kids. Truth be told whenever Naevius had Hanaeko the baby fever hit hard. But we had so much going on with the girls and work and things. But I suppose if we can afford this little bit of time to us we can think about getting the girls some more siblings huh?" Vari waggled her eyebrows at him.

“Yes of course you may,” She was so fun to adventure with and she would always hold his heart. “I know that I will always have you and the girls, I just dont want it to get too quiet you know? Besides once they wrap their tiny fingers around yours, well I know I am completely taken after that.” His heart raced when she waggled her eyebrows at him. “Hanaeko was so very cute and has grown up well, I hope Nic is still doing good? He was always such a good boy.” So far as he was able to tell anyway. He took her hand in his and squeezed gently in thanks. “I adore you Var.” She was the lighthouse in the storm of his life. His job was gritty and his family was his primary source of inspiration, joy and comedy.
