It had been….years. Literal years since Chailee had powered up. The PTSD of her capture had been the start of her refusal to return to the war, but schooling also became her number one priority. There had been a strong push for her to do well in college both from her parents but also from herself. With that goal acquired and degree in hand she made the decision to return to Destiny City to try and get some real world experience.
Her return to the city also brought back a lot of memories, and the guilt of having abandoned friends and others still fighting laid heavy on her. At first, she’d refused to power up. Turned off the television when the local news came on. Theoretically buried her head in the sand.
It only lasted so long, and guilt finally won.
And oh how oddly good it felt to power up again!
Harmonia slipped over the rooftops quietly, eyes bright and attentive to her surroundings. The winter air bit at exposed flesh but she didn’t feel it’s touch. Between magic and adrenaline, the Eternal was just enjoying the experience. But, she was wary. Some things never truly die, and Harmonia knew her signature could be a beacon and draw in others. It was necessarily a bad thing, honestly, but she’d learned a lesson so many years ago. Caution was a friend.
So, when she practically stumbled upon an agent, a captain according to the aura, Harmonia was careful in her approach. She gave them space, not wanting to encroach or cause distress but also give herself room to flee if needed. A single lieutenant wasn’t necessarily someone to be fearful of, but things could change quickly. At least she didn’t feel any other signatures nearby.
“Hey there.” She offered a wave and a tentative smile. “Lovely evening isn’t it?” “Orangeish Sherbert” Hope this works! I kept the location vague. LMK if you want/need any adjustments.

Even with his promotion, the very presence of a senshi who was stronger than he was nearly sent Gismondine into a full blown panic attack. Visions of rough hands around his throat, angry words spat at him and a face contorted into pure rage were…rather overwhelming.
But. The voice was not one filled with hatred, and the senshi that stood before him was a girl, and though she had the white wings at her hips, the rest of her outfit was a mix of blues and yellows.
…It almost reminded him of the circus.
Gismondine opened his mouth several times, hoping that some words would find their way out, but clearly that wasn’t on the agenda for the night, and the Captain gave a curt nod instead, meeting the Eternal’s eyes for a moment and then looking away. His body was clearly tensed to run, and it was only with a quiet repetition of reminders that he could teleport if it got ugly that kept him as outwardly calm as he was.
“...Hi. Um. Y-yes.”

Harmonia’s tentativeness blossomed into a full smile as the Captain responded to her. He seemed unsure, but receptive to her, so the senshi was willing to spend some time and see how the meeting may pan out. This was the first person she’d run into powered up since she was a teenager. Negaverse or not, she was curious to get some intel.
“I don’t want to fight.” She said, her hands clasping behind her back, leaving herself wide open. “I honestly just want to chat if you’re OK with that?”
She hoped he wasn’t so afraid that he’d run off. She did finderhelf very intrigued by his appearance though. The first thing that came to her mind was vampire. His dark, broody look, long hair, and those bat-wing shaped coat tails just had a Nasferatu vibe to it.
Of course, it was her little bookworm heart that was most peaked. After all, vampires were always a fun mix in stories. As long as they didn’t sparkle.
“I am Harmonia.”

She…didn’t want to fight? The absurdity of such a statement made the Captain frown and look up again, his brows furrowing. “...That…s-sounds like a trick. You with…with the wings always want to fight. And do your…your best to get your s-stupid hands around my neck well.”
He summoned his weapon and stayed right where he had been, not moving any closer, keeping as much distance as he could manage to. “...Gismondine. What…do you want to chat about. I…I won’t…allow you to just…fool me…just…just to…to let you know.”
She didn’t have to know that he had no idea how to utilize his weapon. She didn’t have to know that he was absolutely terrified. But. If…she had working eyes she could see it but…whatever.
“What do…you think you’ll gain by t-talking to me?”

”I don’t like to fight.” She said plainly, shoulders shrugging. “Honestly, I think a lot could be solved with words than going at each other’s throats. I don’t expect the war to ever be won, that way, but it’s nice to dream that maybe, just maybe something could come out of us just communicating with one another.”
“Or maybe I am trying to live in a fantasy world. But, I prefer to make an attempt.”
She watched as he pulled his weapon and took a stance. He was at least smart in keeping his distance, but looked awkward with the handling of his weapon. A new Captain perhaps? Or maybe someone who also avoided fighting if he could? He definitely didn’t come across as a person who liked to engage in fights.
“It’s nice to meet you, Gismondine.” She repeated to the name to better remember it later.
“We can talk about anything, really. What you think about the war. How long we’ve been a part of it all. Or something simple like how the weather is or what our favorite colors are.” She smiled encouragingly.
“I really have nothing to gain than to kill some time and maybe make a friend?”

Gismondine swallowed, watching her warily. “...Forgive me for not believing you. I’m…very much used to nearly being choked to death each and every time I meet with…with a senshi of your strength…but…I can talk…I’d always prefer to talk…it’s…” He closed his eyes for a moment. “...Could you truly be friends with me? Everyone else seems to think that such a thing is impossible, and honestly…I’ve started to think that way too. It’s hard to imagine how we could ever be friends when…the hatred is so deep between our factions…”
He kept his hold tightly on his weapon, but hesitated and drew out two small bags of cookies from his subspace pocket. Frosted animal crackers were always good at any time, and he tossed one over towards Harmonia. “...It’s nice to meet you too…um. The…the weather is getting going to get hot again before too long…I wish…I wish it could stay Spring or Autumn temperatures all year long…that…that would be ideal for me…”
Opening the small packet of cookies, he pulled what looked like a camel covered in pink icing and popped it into his mouth.
…He couldn’t say stupid things if he was chewing!

”I am sorry you experienced that.” She answere sincerely. “I have had some….not so pleasant run-in’s with people from your side as well, I am just determined to prove that not everyone is bad on both sides. We can find a middle ground.
”I don’t see why we can’t be friends if we want to be.” She smiled. “I honestly think that this war would benefit form people taking time to talk to one another and make friends from all sides. I am not sure why your friend would think it’s impossible for someone to make friends with an opposite faction. Sure, it may not be…normal or easy, but I think it can happen if we want it to.” Harmonia practically bounced on the tips of her toes in excitement.
At the change of subject Harmonia quickly switched gears and was happy to learn more about her new friend. Out of courtesy she kept her distance. Instead she knelt down on both over her knees and relaxed with her hands clasped in front of her on her lap. “I love autumn too!” She said almost too excitedly. “The weather is perfect and I adore all for he colors! Honestly the best season of the year in my opinion.
“Do you have af Amorite season? Beyond the temperatures that is?”

Gismondine hesitated. “Autumn, I think. I like the colors and the cooling temperatures…I…enjoy the holidays at that time of the year too. They’re all whimsical and fun…and they just…”
He ate another cookie, watching the senhi with a small frown.
Honestly…he shouldn’t be doing this. Talking to this senshi. Even if she was being gentle. Even if it wasn’t a trap…it was…wrong.
It felt wrong.
“I…I’m afraid I…I have things to do now, so I should…be going. You…maybe don’t just…talk to people and act so friendly…it’s…” If it was a trick…it wasn’t nice.
“You’ll get hurt.”
And that was only the truth. He could have. If he knew how to actually use the weapon in his hand…he could do a lot of damage but.
But he couldn’t do that either. So, Gismondine did the only thing that he could do, and that was to vanish into the night, teleporting away from the conversation. From the dangerous senshi.
From the potential…friend?
Whatever. He was fine without her.
