It was getting easier to forgive both the Vanguard and the Negaverse for what had happened. Getting easier, but not quite easy yet. Luckily, Albireo still hadn’t found anyone that she knew who had succumbed to the chaos that night, and obviously herself and Siegfried were both safe due to the fact they hadn’t been there, but at least the guilt was receding from that too.
Honestly, the guilt had been what was eating her the most. All of the ‘What Ifs’ that had been going through her mind since she first heard about it. What if they had been there? Would they have been able to turn the tide more quickly? What if one of them had fallen back to the darkness? Now, that was a thought that had chilled her to the bones and caused more than several nightmares.
Now it was just a waiting game to see what came of it all…the failed salvation of the Negaverse had been…goodness. Three months ago already. That was a thought that was rather astounding.
Such an Earth shattering event and yet..
Time continued to move on, not caring about the losses. Not caring that people needed a chance to mourn.
Perhaps that was the worst thing out of all of this. The fact that the war just…never ended. Never took a break. People stopped fighting, people died. People fell to chaos…it…
It was exhausting.
All Albireo knew was the war. All of the memories of just being normal from both of her previous lives were snuffed out with the manipulation of her starseed, so all that she knew was the fighting, the heartbreak. Perhaps that was why…she could forgive easier? She had…hope?
None of that made any real lick of sense but…
There was hope now. Her homeworld was coming back to life, was it not? Fireflies in so many colors…and a moment shared with someone who was going to soon be free of chaos’s grip…
There was still hope in the world. She just had to keep hold of it.
When she felt the dark aura of a Corrupted Eternal Senshi, Albireo hesitated, and then moved towards it.
If she had hope, she had to try to spread it, right? Help to light the way for those who were trapped in the dark.
The idea of such a stance made her smile, and the fact that the corrupt looked so absolutely miserable only stood to enforce her conviction that this was the right move. Talking to her, helping her…she could do it. She had been there. Trapped in the suffocating darkness…
With a soft greeting, Albireo approached the black clad senshi, extending a hand and hoping for a good meeting. A good conversation.
For a long moment, all the corrupt did was stare, looking as though she were thinking very hard about something, and then her hand extended, pushed inside of Albireo’s chest.
She drew in a sharp, pained breath. “What–No, this isn’t–”
And the world went black, and Albireo knew no more.
