A few days after this role-play.Tama had been so proud of his human form. So enamored by it, so obsessed with it, that it almost got him killed. And now… The cat summoned his human form and it appeared. But he could only hold it for a few seconds before — poof! — he was back into feline form. It was as if it were rejecting his will. Little did he know about the effects of a nearly broken starseed. It would need time to acclimate to the Chaos that had been just so recently forced inside it. That is when he felt it. For a third time. That same aura and smell of smoke and burning. No. The aura was different. He placed a hand to his chest. No. It was he that was different. His body no longer recoiled at a general’s starseed. But his mind was a different matter. “You b*****d!”As soon as Faustite entered the room, he — holding on to his human form by a thread — threw a well-aimed punch at the man’s face. Strickenized He is going to punch Faustite in the face. I’d love it to land. Feel free to strike him back. ☆

Faustite opened the door, only to get hit in the face. The force — and shock — of it sent him stumbling backward, hands cupped over his nose as the spike of pain settled into a bothersome throb. He groaned into his hands, brows furrowed. Soon, he felt wet travel down his face.
A quick glance at his hands showed black. He covered his face ******** cats.
"Cursing me doesn't change anything." He glowered balefully at the human before he vanished back into a cat form. With the side of his boot, he shoed the furry menace inside and shut the door again.
"Though it tells me you remember your indoctrination. Tell me what you remember."meighei Figured I would tag this now since we've got the group RP up!

Tama bit at the man’s boot, kicking with his back legs, furiously. But the general just dragged him across the floor like the sixteen-and-a-half-pounds of fur he was. His fangs were bared and his claws out and his hair raised, but that did not hide the fact that he was very small and very kickable. What a pathetic thing that a moment earlier thought he could punch a general of the Negaverse in the face. “I remember you!” The guardian cat hissed. He wondered what it all meant to the man in front of him. What? Had be come here to gloat? “I remember her!”That woman with an aura that had overwhelmed him. The one who had told him… Told him that… “I remember him…”His violet eyes grew sad for a moment and he stopped his hissing and posturing and just looked at the floor. What did he remember? Perhaps it would have been better if he hadn’t recalled any of it at all. ☆

"Look at you, recalling people," he returned derisively. Nose pinched with a scowl, he held his head up, half-hopeful that the bleeding would staunch. The pain hadn't — wouldn't for some time.
Once the cat ceased trying to eat shoe leather, Faustite nudged the door shut with his boot. "Faustite," he offered, pointing to himself with a bloodied hand. "General by rank. Negaverse starts with Lieutenants, then Captains, Generals, General-Sovereigns, and the Queen — the one who rescued you — reigns highest. Better you learn to respect rank if you want freedoms. Most agents will expect that of you."
He supposed it didn't matter if an agent got offended and killed the cat for insubordination. That would make one less cat for the White Moon to use, but likewise deprived their Negaverse senshi. Still, it was on him to train the thing to behave.
"Been assigned to my team. You'll be supporting several senshi."
He bean to pace, occasionally swallowing back gouts of blood that caught in the back of his throat. "Who's 'him'?" Faustite supposed it was the Knight he'd seen the cat with — boy seemed attached to his furbag.

Faustite. So that was the b*****d’s name. And he was a general, too. Probably thought himself high and mighty, too, as he listed off the hierarchy of which he was conveniently placed on top. Lieutenants, Captains, Generals.Did he think he was an idiot? He knew as much about the Negaverse as a White Moon cat. But the general did reveal one thing he had not known before. Who the woman in his memory was. The Queen.Perhaps he’d bow to her, but not this man. “Rank? I’ll do what I want. Thanks.”You. Faustite. Her. The Queen. Him? That was more complicated. You see, while he remembered quite a lot as Faustite had implied, there were things he did not remember. He had no memory of powered individuals he had known. But he remembered the normal humans. And that had created a curious split to one person’s identity. Erytheia/Yuri. They could no longer be one in his mind. “He doesn’t matter.” Yuri. That was the only one that existed anymore. “He left me behind.”☆

"Don't care if you forego formality when you speak to me." Faustite wiped his nose, snorted back more blood. Swallowed with a grimace. "But others will. Won't end well.
"Neither will insubordination on the battlefield. ******** around and you get yourself killed." He hadn't spoken with malice; Faustite considered it fact for how often he'd seen frontline officers break rank and suffer for it. Bold ones who, by whatever motivation, thought themselves superior to their orders or their tacticians. Some of them got away with maims or manglings, but some hadn't a starseed left anymore.
He sighed, then regretted it for the pressure it placed on his damaged cartilage. Forming a tent over it with his hands, he explained further.
"Need to get you briefed. Negaverse issues a Training Manual and a Tablet. Manual's on the tablet." He paused, then, and stole a cincher from his subspace to wrap about himself. Once it was secure, he summoned what looked like a pen with a starseed tip, then pulled it in half. While a little melted on the corners, the device operated as expected.
He set the thing on the floor, facing Tama, and pushed it toward the cat.
"Better to get started now. Once your paperwork clears, tablet'll recognize you." Which, he expected, should be finished by now.

Somehow, he doubted Faustite’s words. Hadn’t he messed up so throughly that he was here now, by some undeserved miracle still alive, listening to him talk about insubordination. He’d respect a person when they earned it. Tama stared at the pen-tablet. It reminded him a bit of henshin pens. Was that really a starseed embedded in it? He sniffed it and the smell of burnt metal assaulted his olfactory system. “I’d prefer a paper manual.”☆

"Mm." Clicked his tongue, started to pace. "Pity they stopped making those.
"If you're so set on being worth less than your starseed, I won't stop you." He hadn't the patience for these self-loathing, 'cater-to-me' types. Hadn't the need for them, either.
They'd conscripted Tama, which removed him from tending to the White Moon in any way. That was enough for him. If Tama wanted to be so useless that death was the only way to put him to use? That didn't diminish their successes. Cats weren't that useful, anyway.
So Faustite paced for the door. There was always more to do in this vast, dark place.

Tama looked at Faustite as if he’d burned all the manuals himself in his strange, fiery grate of a torso. The tablet recognized his face. It started to boot up the manual, as if responding to their conversation. He barely looked at it, could parse it later. He didn’t need to read it to know the answer he sought right now would not be there. He knew what a manual held. A manual told you ‘how’. How to do that, be this. But Tama wasn’t interested in ‘how’ to be in the Negaverse. Not yet. Not when another question loomed on his still aching starseed. “Why?” Tama said, direct and not avoiding. “Why am I here?”☆

Faustite considered the thought. Far be it for him to lie; he wasn't any good at it. More silver-tongued was Fafnir, or Alkmene, or Lilith. But they were not here; they hadn't been made aware of another new member to the team. As he let the question simmer, he ran the first knuckle of his index finger against his chin.
"Because you're valuable." That was true for any Mauvian — doubly so for one stolen from the other side. "And you were alone. Here's better than nowhere.
"You're going to disappoint her if you don't shape up." He wiped his nose again, checked for bleeding. "She won't suffer failure."

Tama’s fur puffed up. Valuable? How absurd. He couldn’t even protect himself, much less anyone else. Much less that one. He certainly didn’t feel very useful. He couldn’t even hold his human form for more than a few seconds at this point. “I think I need to be alone for a bit. You know, to read this manual.” The cat was clearly lying, but he couldn’t stand to be by Faustite anymore. He couldn’t stand his reasoning, couldn’t stand it one bit. He could be telling the truth or lying, but it didn’t matter to the cat. He wanted to be alone just as much as he didn’t want to be by himself. ☆

Whatever the cat needed to be alone for, Faustite didn't give a damn. Tailless thing could be interested in running itself into the Hall of Shadows, ending its miserable little life, and Faustite could not rouse any pity for that. It punched him in a human form, possibly broke his nose. If anything, it was only the Queen's interest in it that kept him investing in it himself.
Would've rather given it to someone else — an Eternal, probably, but the first one to come to mind was Chrysocolla, and then he had two reasons to stay invested in this one.
Fine, then. Albite could take care of it. Or Alkmene, or Lilith, or… ********, there were so many senshi.
Gritting his teeth, he gave the round thing (somehow they got rounder?) no response. The General turned from it and left the room, shutting the door behind him with a soft sizzle of boiling sweat on metal.
