It was difficult for Serenitatis to envision what this place had once been like. In its current form, Serenitatis had succumb to the elements and what had once been a series of tranquil gardens had become nothing short of an overgrown jungle. While she could see the tell tale signs of small ponds, larger ones in fact in the distance, they had all run dry a long time ago. In place of the manicured plants the weeds had taken hold and in in place of trees and flowers lay nothing but wilted and slumped flora with the spined and otherwise hardy ivy.
Nevertheless among the sprawling weeds and coiling ivy, she could see hints of the architecture that had once been there. In the distance, up several flights of steps she could see the hint of a building. Its rounded rooftop adorned with a point. At the very least the roof seemed intact from here, though pillars that led up the stairway had suffered a worse fate. Some had crumbled as the ivy strangled the delicate stonework, aided by the howling and dust filled wind that swept across their surface.
At one point it was probably very beautiful, but right now...
"I am not the world's best landscaper," she gulped as she observed where she had been taken, and the amount of work that it seemed would be required to bring this place back up to spec. Heck, forget landscaper, she wasn't even a good gardener in the basic sense! She was briefly concerned that perhaps she may have bitten off more than she could chew with this one, but perhaps she might be able to get a little help?
When her companion and escort was ready to receive questions that was one particular concern she would very much appreciate the opportunity to address.
"Is this the place...?"

“Thankfully, you have magic on your side. This is the place, yes.” The orb was with her constantly, and it seemed as though it had the energy to hover just before her. “I won’t be able to travel like this for long,” it spoke. “It is taxing. If you need to communicate with me, you will have to return to the Celestial Theatre. But I will always be there for you. It is simple, you need only will yourself to it. The same for this place, you must focus and the power you need will come. I’m not being deliberately vague, it’s just a lot to take in at once. And, you’re my first Knight. Here, at least. It’s a long story, I’ll tell you later. I know you’ll be back often.” It wasn’t really a question, it was a promise the Code was making ]i]for her. “It looks daunting now, I know. But the more power you grow into, the more this place will restore. You will see it. Your body can only make so many trips, so it will take some getting used to. Your starseed will grow in power as you tap into what you have. You’ll know when you’re ready for more. I’ll know. But this will take work, and effort. You have the heart of a healer, I think. Do you know how to fight?”

Serenitatis couldn't argue with the statement The Code had made. The events that had been developing since she had arrived in her 'dream' had been a lot to take in. She would need to take time to absorb it all, to acknowledge that what had happened was very real, and in time she would be able to do what she had promised. Admittedly she had made quite a few promises, one personally to the fallen patient in the ward, the others to The Code, but in time she would ain fir success.
"I think," she said after a moment to process where she was, to truly take in the dilapidated ruins before her. "That I will always have questions for you," she agreed. Her smile was soft, though she had at first been intimidated by what lay ahead of her, there was a warmth here. It was a sense of safety she couldn't explain, not in words at least, it was more of a feeling and perhaps in time it would be something she could return in kind.
"But I will try not to bother you too often, I'm sure you're very busy," She murmured. Not that she knew what celestial entities did all day, floating in a hallway seemed a touch boring and hardly fulfilling, but perhaps The Code could see beyond the hallway?
She paused briefly though at the last question and shook her head.
"Never really been my thing," she admitted and pursed her lips. "I can learn though?" she offered. "At least a little bit, I imagine there are classes I can take that may help," she pointed out. She had been looking for another extra curricular activity, one that might introduce her to more people, this might well be a possibility.
Another pause.
"Unless this place can teach me?" she asked curiously. It didn't seem like it was a place for combat but looks could be deceiving and maybe there was something hidden deep beneath the surface. Unfortunately for Serenitatis this place was the least likely location to find anything related to combat, but she would learn this in time.
"Or if you have recommendations and how I might reach them, then I would be willing to reach out to them."

The Code had a way about it, that it seemed to sort of hum contemplatively. “I don’t think you’ll learn to fight here. The Moon wasn’t particularly known for combat. You will have better luck on Earth. I can’t help you with that, I’m afraid. But your starseed isn’t strong enough to manifest any magic yet. You won’t receive the full power of your Wonder until you train yourself.” An energy seemed to have settled across the area, and for as ancient as it seemed, there was almost something lively about it. Maybe it was just the gentle hum of energy radiating from the Code, or maybe it was something more about Serenitatis itself, but something seemed soothing, welcoming. “I expect you will have many questions. I invite them. The more you ask, the more I can prepare you. You will find others on Earth. Knights, who guard different places. They may be able to help guide you. You might learn to fight from them. The important thing is to be careful and avoid Chaos as much as you can until you learn how to defend yourself. I don’t want to lose you to them. You’ll feel it, when you power up like this. You’ll feel when danger is around, too. Just be mindful. Protect yourself first and foremost. You can’t help anyone if something happens to you.”

A paradox in a sense, at least that's how Serenitatis felt about the remarks. If the Moon wasn't known for combat then how on earth had it defended itself for so long, what had it had that made it so special that others would defend it on its behalf? Okay, so it seemed to have a cosmic entity that could grant magical power to others and was likely to have untold strength of its own but was that it?
She sighed softly as she continued to gaze out over what was to be 'her' little peace of history. Perhaps it didn't need to worry about combat if it made everyone feel like this? She didn't feel particularly anxious, she had settled somewhat here, even though she was all too aware of the challenge that awaited her when she returned to the hospital. That being said, could the influence of a place like this really extend beyond its borders...
"Do you really think that someone like me can really make a difference?" she asked after a moment and shook her head. "If we already have all these people to help and we still can't win, then would someone like me be enough to make the scales tilt?" she added. It wasn't that she'd had a change of heart, but she couldn't fight (not yet at least) and if she were to try to assist now then she had concerns that she might get in the way.
She paused.
"Or as I get stronger is there something that I can do that's...I don't know, special?" She murmured. It may not have been the best way to phrase it, but she did have to wonder if the magic she might bring may be something that didn't exist yet. Sadly, she would discover that her magic did exist, but perhaps in time there would be other things she didn't know about that would help.
...Maybe her aspect would prove to be important.
Or her summon.
Regardless, she had to wonder what it was she might be able to achieve in the midst of this chaos.
"Is there a way to contact them?" she added. "The knights that is, if they can help me with some of my uh...training, that is..."
Another pause.
"Maybe a bat signal of some description?" She hazarded. "Do you even know what a bat symbol is? Maybe that's a bad example."

“I think you can make a difference,” the Code confirmed. “I heard your starseed through all the space between us. I felt a spark in you that I haven’t been able to feel before. A single person can make a difference, Serenitatis. If you can save one starseed, you have made a difference. We cannot think in absolutes. I don’t know what you’re capable of, and you don’t yet, either. But I know there is something special within you, and I am trusting you with the power to discover what that is. You are special now, and you will find a way to hone what is in you. You are something new to me. I can feel the power in you, but even I can’t tell what it will be. We’ll know when you get there, and I will support you until then, and after.” It did not clarify if it knew what the bat signal was, but it did say, “Broadly speaking, no. There isn’t an easy way to connect with other Knights. A fault I will have to work on. I can only hope that they will seek you out, or that you will find them quickly once you return to Earth. Just be cautious when you return. If something feels wrong, leave, or power down and hide. You will know an ally is nearby, it will feel warm. Approachable. Anything else, avoid. At least until you have a chance to grow stronger or practice a bit. You are changing the world if you can save even just one person, you don’t need to lead a war. Protect yourself first and foremost.”

There was something comforting about how The Code spoke. The reassurance that if she tried her hardest then that was all that could be asked from her. Even if she saved just one person with her newfound power then that was enough. Granted, the new Page assumed that the desire to save more was probably there, but the weight of that burden was not as suffocating as she might have expected.
…Not now that she knew she just had to try, and really, move at her own pace while she did so.
"I can do that," she confirmed after a moment and hazarded a small smile. Unfortunately the news that a bat signal wasn't strictly possible was a touch disappointing, but she would do what she could to work on that. Stay out of trouble, learn who and what she was, and perhaps in time her path would cross with someone who could help her. In the end she would find out what it was to be a Knight and more importantly, what it was to be one that represented the Moon.
"Erm," she paused at that though and furrowed her brow.
"Not to be rude," she said after a moment, her gaze still fixed on the dilapidated gardens that were to be her Wonder and Charge. "But how does time work up here?" she asked softly.
"If it's the same as below then at some stage I'm fairly sure people are going to wonder where I've gone," she admitted sheepishly.
"Not that I want to rush, but that information is probably fairly important," she finished.

“Oh. A very good thing to be aware of. Yes, it’s the same as on Earth. If you want to go back, you need only will it. You will have to focus, and think about where you were. The magic will return you. You must do the same to return here. Clear your mind, the words will come. There is magic that binds you to this place. We can talk again when you have more time. If you need to go now, we’ll continue this later. I’ll find somewhere to store this energy. I may not be able to speak with you here, but you know where you can find me.” A star brooch shimmered, first in the core of the Code as it manifested, and then again when it flickered onto her chest. “That will take you to the Celestial Theatre. It’s where I am at my strongest. If you need guidance, come to me there. Just be safe, Serenitatis.”

Perhaps she was misinterpreting some of what The Code had said, but it seemed like there was a lot she had to practice. She'd never really been one for meditation, but given the necessity to clear her mind (a challenge to be sure), it might be of considerable value for her to broaden her horizons and open herself to some classes. Her lips pursed at that, but rather than express her concerns at this particular moment in time, she gave a firm nod.
Quite frankly, The Code had already done more than enough for her. She had been granted power, some sort of land (even if it was in disrepair), and she had been afforded a fantastical explanation to it all. She'd been given reassurances she would get stronger and perhaps in time... She might well be able to do what the glowing wisp wanted.
For now though, if she had very little time to save this patient, it was in her best interests to get started. Well, that and ensure that she wasn't about to be written up for vanishing without a trace.
"I'll make time," she said finally and offered a warm smile, taking a moment to gaze down at the quirky little brooch upon her chest.
"Thank you," she added and took a deep breath. Surprisingly, clearing one's mind was surprisingly easy when they over-thought and stalled out. While the more vocal elements of her mind were still rebooting, the tiniest voice in the depths of her mind piped up as a small reminder as to what she had been originally intending to do and...
Pop.
What was formerly a garden in disrepair was replaced by the familiar sights and smells of the cafeteria. The only thing that had changed was her, and it was with an alarmed squeak that she hid out of sight as she gazed down at her dress. This would fade eventually, right? She probably should have asked about that too, you know, the whole turning it off and on.
She'd figure it out. She'd just need twenty minutes or so.
It'd be fine.
Once this was all squared up and the conundrum solved, she'd get back to her duties!
