Hati was on patrol again, and feeling rather good about himself. So far, it all had been a quiet night. He liked that things felt safe, at least in the area he was patrolling. Nothing was going wrong, nobody was getting hurt. As he sensed auras, he sighed to himself and amended the statement. Nobody had been getting hurt yet, but someone sure was now. He took a deep breath and sprinted his way to the Chaos and Order auras he could sense, until the Order aura moved out of his range and made him sprint faster to the Chaos one. Ready to demand answers, he rounded the corner, charging like a bull, and then came to a complete stop as he saw who was on the ground, nearly tripping over his own feet. "Ilse?" ...She didn't look good.

It really was Ilse's terrible luck, wasn't it? Tangling with people that were far too eager to fight--this time a Squire who hadn't wanted to hear her protests or apologies after she panicked and hit him with her magic, and she'd had to run as fast as she could to stop him chasing her down. It had been utterly terrifying, and she hated it, and she couldn't wait for the day when that didn't happen anymore. As a Corrupted Senshi, it felt like she was everyone's target--even her own side's, considering the awful things that had happened down in the Rift.
She'd tripped, finally, and been subject to a few more whacks with the Squire's staff-weapon before he ran away, and she just. Hadn't bothered to get back up.
what was the point, really, especially with another Order aura approaching?
Butt he voice was familiar, and she blinked, and perked up a little.
"Oh, Hati!" She pushed herself into a sitting position, wincing the whole way. "Uh, hi. Fancy meeting you here?"

Hati knelt down next to her, signalling to her to stay down. "Real fancy, Wine Girl," he said, smiling a bit, though his brow was still creased in concern as he looked her over. "Damn, I don't have any healing magic. How badly are you hurt?" He reached into his subspace and pulled out a water bottle to hand to her, followed by an orange, and then some gauze and medical tape and wrappings in case she was more injured than he could see right away.

Ilse couldn't help it. The nickname made her laugh, and she took the offered snack and water, but waved away the bandages.
"It's nothing serious, just some bruises. A Squire took offense to my....everything, but he's gone, and he didn't do any damage a little rest won't fix!" Still she set the water down and started peeling the orange into her lap, sighing unhappily. It sucked to have these misunderstandings so often--with Hati, with Tristan, and now with this stranger.
Ugh. Unfortunate all around. At least things had turned out okay two out of three times, though.
She took a bite of orange and made a content little noise.
"Thanks," she said, cheerily. This was, at least, much nicer than what she'd been dealing with before Hati showed up.

"Ugh," Hati groaned, rolling his eyes, "Love a Squire beating up someone weaker than him. I don't understand the point of giving chase or anything like that. It's not helpful." He put the bandages back into his subspace as she pushed them back into his hands and shifted so he was sitting next to her instead of kneeling, legs crossed. "Yeah, it's no problem. At all. You seem like a good person, y'know? Just... dealing with a lot."

Ilse sighed. "I, uh. Think my magic really upset him. It must have brought back some really bad memories, which I feel bad about. I don't like hurting people, physically or emotionally."
To say the least. She frowned, taking another bite of the orange. That was what she had been doing a lot of since she corrupted, wasn't it? Hurting people and getting hurt. It was a miserable existence, in her opinion, and she wanted no more of it.
But she still needed to figure out what to do about Lysithea, and that was the hardest part by far.
She'd get it eventually, she was sure.
"That's...really nice of you to say," Ilse flashed him a smile. "You seem nice, too." He probably wouldn't think so if he knew what she'd done, but that was okay. he didn't need to know. She could just enjoy someone liking her.

Hati grimaced a bit when she mentioned her magic, nodding a bit. He could understand that. But still, giving chase and just beating up on someone who'd clearly given up seemed so erroneously excessive, regardless of what had occurred just before. He supposed he just didn't like seeing people get hurt for no reason, or excessively so, since there was always, of course, self-defense. This whole situation seemed well beyond self-defense, though. "Heh, thanks. I'm just... doing my best in a world full of complete and utter suckage," he said with a sigh, tilting his head back to look up at the stars. He couldn't pick out Skoll and Hati from the angle he had on the ground in the alleyway, but he knew they were out there. He wondered where Ilse was in the sky, if her home could be picked out easily. "It doesn't have to be like this, y'know. If you don't want it to be," he whispered. Maybe she'd consider purifying, maybe she wouldn't. But he at least had to put it out there. Even if she reacted badly. He couldn't just not make the offer to help when he could. Well. Not directly, technically, but he was at least a touchstone to get to someone who could do that thing.

Ilse smiled, faintly. Hati really was a kind sort, and she liked him a lot. Maybe if she did purify, if whoever she went to this time decided that she was actually worthy--well. She'd just have to find him again when that happened. She hoped she could manage that.
She flashed him a smile.
"I know it doesn't have to be like this." She dropped her voice, low, and looked around. No one coming to get her. Not that she'd known last time, but she could hope.
"I....I'm working on that. There's just a few really important things for me to figure out, first, is all."

He smiled reassuringly. "Okay. I can understand that. Like I said before... If you need something, you can ask me." He looked around again, listening hard. He only heard the wind. No auras to sense. No civilians or anyone else that he could detect with his natural senses lurking to try and bust them. "Get back safe. I hope I'll see you again sometime, Ilse."

Ilse nodded, taking a last bite of her orange and idly wiping her hands on her skirt. At least magic would clean that up. As she stood, she took the water bottle with her, and wiggled it.
"Gonna hang onto this. Thanks," she said, and then she turned to leave.
"I'll see you again," she promised.
There. Now she had to.
