Nights that were quiet like this were both a blessing and a curse. Looking out over the city with its lights and hum of traffic, Ida felt both soothed and agitated. She had dusted a couple of youma, but nothing major, and no officers to deal with. The night felt peaceful, but also like something hung over her, a threat she wasn't aware of yet but could strike at any moment...

Five plus years of living through a war was probably why, if she was being honest with herself. Years of fighting, of being prepared, of living most of her life as more of a temporary pause on night time activities rather than a true, full life. At least, since Hver at left, though it had always sort of been part of all this. She was... tired, but never really able to relax. Even sitting here on top of the library, legs dangling over the side of the building in the chill of January with nothing but friendly signatures as far as her senses would reach... she knew they were out there, somewhere.

The eternal kicked her feet idly, debating if she felt ready to get up and start moving again. She had another hour or two before she could allow herself to return home, duty fulfilled. She needed to make another circuit, just to make sure no one had snuck by her... but it was tempting to just... not.

Keiko was heading towards the strongest aura that she felt in the night, and when she saw the purple glow coming off of the shadowed figure, she beamed. Obviously with a glow like that it had to be Encke, and with a yelp of greeting she bounded over, though skidded to a stop when she was just at the point of throwing herself on the eternal in a bear hug. “Oh my god. You're not who I thought you were!”

Stumbling backwards, the super senshi fell backwards with a fwump and winced slightly as her backside hit heard.

“I am so sorry. I saw the purple glow and I thought you were my friend Encke, I guess obviously there’s more than one senshi with a purple glowbug but. Ah. Hi. I’m Keiko! Senshi of the Yuki-Onna, and I’m working on getting my own glowbug starting. Been fixing up my homeworld pretty nicely…there are spiders there now!”

Wow. She was talking a mile a minute, excited to have another perspective on the whole transcendence thing right here in front of her.

Hopefully the pretty senshi wouldn’t be offended by her mix-up.

The approach of a signature registered, but since it held only the warmth and comfort of an order aura, Ida had sort of ignored it at first. It might be someone she knew, or it might be a stranger passing by. If they wanted to talk, they'd keep approaching, but she didn't really feel like getting up to go chase them.

The signature did keep coming though, and then faster, rushing at her. Ida had turned in surprise to nearly be tackled by another girl, saved only by the girl reversing at the last moment to literally fall back on her butt.

"Oh! Are you okay?" She asked as she leaned towards her, stretching out a hand instinctively. It hardly seemed to matter, because she was off, chattering at her in what seemed like acute embarrassment. Ida caught the name of the super she had tended once, and the name of this new girl. Keiko, it was a pretty name. And she was working on her own... glowbug?

"Hi, I'm Ida. Sorry I'm not your friend. I've met Encke before, he was nice, so I'm glad you know him."

Keiko nodded. “Yeah, I’m fine, no worries!” She managed to get back to her feet, brushing off whatever dirt had stuck to her fuku and grinned at Ida. “You might not be Encke, but that doesn’t mean you’re not a friend in the making, Ida. I’m glad that I know him too. He’s very knowledgeable, and his cat is a precious bean who I’m going to steal one day, just see if I don’t.”

Her eyes traced the delicate glowing markings on the senshi and she gave a wistful sigh. “How did you start to glow? What did you have to do for your homeworld? I’ve been trying…I mean, All I have is ruins, and a lot of snow and it’s cold...so I’ve been working on making a base that I can work out of, and it’s been going okay! I’ve had some bugs come back to my world, super cute and fuzzy spiders and when I was there most recently there was a few ladybugs…so that’s been neat. I hope it means that I'm doing something right. But if you have tips, I am all ears.”

Well, she did seem okay after her tumble, though Ida knew she shouldn't have worried. Being powered allowed you to take hits that would devastate a normal human. Falling a bare few feet was nothing, next to that. Settling back, she watched the other girl dusting herself off and listened to her chatter.

Meeting someone new, falling into a good gossip with them, used to be so easy. She'd done it so often as a girl, both in the store and out of it. She'd always been interested to hear the stories people had, the things they thought and did. She still was, truthfully... but it was hard to pull herself out of the melancholic mood she'd been in. It showed in the soft smile she made for the other, that expression brightening a bit when the top shifted to homeworlds.

"Oh, spiders? That's so neat! I've seen butterflies on mine, and the other day, some birds. I think you're doing a really good job, if you're starting to see animals appear." She turned her hand over, studying the glow orchid in the palm of her right hand. "Every world starts out dead, I think, from what I've heard from other people. But the more you care for it, the more you put into it, the more it heals and life comes back to it."

Ida tilted her head and moved her hand, the glow shifting in ripples across the lines in her skin.

"I was visiting Ida the day I started glowing. I found a special room in one of the towers where they used to grow special trees. It was an important place, in my past life. There, I found one of the little trees that was still alive, held in stasis, and I decided to take it outside and plant it." Ida shrugged them, her smile slightly embarrassed. "Those trees used to be part of a ceremony every Sailor Ida performed for their predecessor, so I did it for... well, me, I guess. For my past self. It was probably kind of silly... I got very caught up in it, and I made a promise to myself and my planet that I would protect it, and protect Earth. Ida responded to me, when I did that. The surge of power that came from it is what made me transcended, and gave me the glowing markings."

She extended her arm then, her bracelets jingling around her wrist. She twisted that arm to display the way the markings wrapped around it, curling their way up from her wrist to her shoulder, up the side of her neck onto her face.

"None of the people I've met have ever had it happen quite the same way. There was a Knight, Babylon, who did something for his ancestor. Every way is different and unique to the person, but I think... something they all have in common is doing something for your world, something... big, or out of the ordinary, that shows some sort of commitment." Ida dropped her arm and laced her fingers together, feeling out the emotions behind what had happened and how she felt about it. Being transcended was so much a part of her now, it was almost hard remembering what it was like to not be transcended. "And a lot of it connects, somehow, to the world, or wonder, and your past life."

"I don't know, really, how you can go about it, other than the hard way... where you keep visiting your world and looking for something you can do for it. Maybe its as simple as pledging your commitment... But I think your world will reach out to you when it feels you're ready. If it doesn't, then you just need to keep working at it... healing your world and growing close to it."

Keiko listened, her attention avid and unfeigned. So, she had to actually do something for her Homeworld. Had to figure out what to do in order to form that kind of bond…

She wanted it, plain and simple, and had wanted it ever since she had first been told of it. First been told that she could find safety from corruption. From her soul being forcibly parted from her body…and now…

Now with the knowledge that it would forge an even stronger connection to the place that she loved the most?

How could she not go to it? How could she not just drop everything and go up to Keiko. She wanted to find what would set it off. She wanted to begin to emit a soft glow of her own, and she wanted to continue to bring more life to her slowly awakening world.

“Ida, this is a lot more information than I had before! I’m…even more excited now. I want to figure out what would make that bond, oh my god…I’m so excited. I hope that you and I can be friends? That we can meet again when I’m glowing, and I can show off my Homeworld in all of its glory? And I would love a chance to visit yours too, if you’d ever be so kind as to invite me?”

For that was one thing she hadn’t done yet, she hadn’t been to any other part of Space but…hey.

Now she had life goals.

The older senshi shrugged a little as she spread her hands. She was glad to see someone interested in their world and a bond with it, but she had precious few answers on how to make it happen.

"I'm sure that if you keep working on building your world back up, it'll happen for you eventually." She said, feeling a soft smile curling over her lips. "And I'd like to be friends very much. Hopefully we can meet again before you glow... we don't have to wait for that. Next time, I would be happy to take you to my world and show you around. I really enjoy doing that, and I think my world enjoys it too."

She'd certainly taken enough people there over the years... was that part of why it had recovered enough for small animals to start appearing? Even if it wasn't, there was no reason to stop taking people to see Ida. If it inspired them to restore their planet, gave them direction or the drive, it was worth it. Just being on her world felt... healing. She wanted everyone to experience that feeling for themselves on their own world. Someday, maybe they'd restore all of them, and bring life back to the whole universe...

"I would enjoy getting to see your world too."

“I would very much love that! I would beg for you to take me now, honestly but I need to get home unfortunately. But, I bet your world is as pretty as you are, Ida!”

Keiko drew out her phone and snapped a picture of the other senshi, grinning in a very pleased way. “I’ll be in touch, okay? We can take a picnic up to your world, and I’ll keep fixing mine up and we can have a picnic up there as well…but hopefully. Hopefully the seasons are the same and it gets a little warmer. Good lord I would love for it to get a little warmer.”

Tucking the phone away, Keiko gave a small wave. “Meeting you was fantastic, and I will be in touch. Soon!” For now though, she had to go, and with another smile, she disappeared into the night, head full of excited new thoughts about what she could do for her homeworld.

Ida smiled gently as the younger girl took out her phone for a photo, remembering belatedly she should do the same.

"I should be getting home too, its late enough for the both of us, I think. But another time, for sure." She said as she snapped a picture, registering Keiko into her phone. It would be nice to have someone to make visits to her asteroid with, and have something as relaxing as a picnic. She hadn't done something like that since Hver left...

"I look forward to that picnic." She said as she gave a little wave. "Get home safely, ok? And call me if you ever need help with anything senshi related. I'll come as quickly as I can."

And she would too. It was rarely anyone called her for help, but maybe if she put it about more, more people would. Better than facing the things they had to face alone, and she had the benefit of medical training. It was long past due for her to start making new connections.

"Good night, Keiko!" She called as she stood, waiting for the super to take off before she herself turned for home.
