Kyril and Jhin had a lot more freedom now that the girls were teens and slowly starting to do their own things. Today was no different as the girls were out and about doing things in the village while Kyril spent a lazy morning inside. A yawn escaped the hybrid as she rolled over to wrap an arm around Jhin who had finally taken some time to stay home. Thankfully since he had to keep a watch over the rangers the man was actually home a lot more now instead of constantly being gone on patrols. It was one of the few perks of taking over from his aunt, minus all of the meetings and paperwork. He was the one in charge of setting up the escort missions, training schedules and the like which kept him tied down more to the village. It would be hard to command if he was always out in the field after all.
“I’m surprised you’re still here.” She murmured as she tugged the wind earthling closer, her body aching for his warmth more than usual lately.

“Well you had asked to spend a day together.” Jhin replied as he held Kyril in his arms. The wind earthling had already woken up with the dawn, but he had tried to go back to sleep to spend more time with his wife. If Kyril had stirred without him being around then the man was afraid for his life lately. Not that Kyril was aggressive normally but lately she seemed more volatile? Jhin shook his head as he squeezed the hybrid woman, his amusement showing in his gaze as he studied her.

Kyril nuzzled her husband. “That’s true.” She whispered with a small smile before yawning. “I do suppose I’ve pushed your limits with this though. We should get up soon.” She knew Jhin was more active in the morning, the opposite of how she seemed to function best in the later hours of the day instead. She had been spoiled by her family a bit too much since her family was far more lax about things when she was growing up. At first she had chores but eventually as long as she did her lessons and took care of things throughout the day it was fine to start later instead of when the sun rose.

“It’s fine, but if you insist then I suppose we should get out of bed.” Teased Jhin as he placed a light kiss against Kyril’s forehead before standing up. “What about food? Should we make breakfast together before going about our day?” He wasn’t certain what Kyril wanted to do but food was always a great start. What if they took a walk to that one area of the forest with the waterfalls along the border? That was always a lovely view.

Kyril nodded. “That sounds like a good idea.” She replied as she slowly dragged herself out of bed. For a second though the hybrid had to pause, the room spinning for some strange reason. Kyril reached out to touch Jhin’s arm to steady herself before slowly moving away again. “Sorry about that.” She whispered with a frown. What was wrong with her lately?

Jhin moved to better support Kyril, worry crossing his brow. “I haven’t seen you sick like this in a long time.” He murmured quietly. “Are you sure that you want to go out today?” It wasn’t even that cold anymore, winter was in its final stretch and the snows from earlier had melted away. So why was Kyril out of sorts? “Maybe I should call the healer.”

“It’s okay.” Kyril shook her head as she waved off Jhin’s concern. “I think I just stood up too quickly.” She smiled towards him before heading towards the stairway. The stone steps twisted downwards and for a moment Kyril’s stomach dropped before she forced herself to take a step forward. She was fine. Nothing was going to ruin this day! The hybrid woman nodded to herself before starting downstairs and relief filled her when she finally emerged in the large kitchen. Thankfully one of the girls had the fire going already in the stone fireplace that took up half of the back wall and there was a nice warmth that made Kyril feel a bit better.

She was so stubborn. Jhin could only shake his head before walking downstairs after Kyril. He was ready to jump forward to catch her if necessary but thankfully they made it to the kitchen without any problems. “We have some eggs that I can scramble if you’d like.” He started as he moved about the kitchen, keeping a wary eye on his wife.

“Sounds lovely.” Kyril smiled as she moved to pick up some of the freshly made bread they had gotten yesterday from friends. “I can slice this up and that should be plenty to fuel us before a walk.” She mused as she watched her husband already moving about the kitchen. “If you need help just let me know.”

“I can handle it.” Jhin promised with a chuckle. Soon enough he had already cracked the eggs, added in some of Kyril’s favorite spices from Oba and whisked them with a wooden spoon as they slowly cooked above the fire in the iron pan. “Are you okay with the bread?” He teased lightly as he glanced over towards Kyril.

Kyril rolled her eyes at Jhin’s teasing. “I’ve already sliced the bread. Do you think I can’t-” Her voice trailed off as the smell of the eggs caught her attention. Normally her stomach would rumble with hunger, especially since Jhin was really good with omelets and scrambled eggs, but today it made her want to retch. Kyril made an expression before dropping the sliced pieces of bread to the table and darting away. Ugh!

Jhin’s amusement died the moment that Kyril looked sick and ran from the room. The ranger wasted no time in setting the cooked eggs on the stone counter so that he could dart after his wife. “Kyril?” Jhin frowned as he found her crouching over an empty vase, her hands shaking. “You are definitely not well.” He commented as he moved to tuck her hair away from her face, his hand rubbing her back.

“I know.” Moaned Kyril as she finally moved back and wiped her mouth, frustration making her groan. “I just don’t know what’s wrong with me…the last time I acted like this…” Her voice trailed off again as she glanced towards Jhin. “I was pregnant with the girls.” Realization was slowly sinking in as she pieced everything together. Oh.

Jhin found himself sitting down on the floor next to Kyril. “You were pregnant with the girls.” He confirmed as the thoughts slowly processed in his mind. If Kyril was sick like that time then considering everything that they had been doing lately….well it made sense. “I suppose we enjoyed our freedom a bit too much.” He tried to joke before slowly shaking his head. “Are you okay with this?” Not like they could change anything now!

Kyril let out a chuckle. “I guess so.” She had stopped taking the teas just out of the hope that they could, but she had honestly been doubting it since a couple of years had passed without success. “Am I okay with this?” She repeated with a small smile crossing her lips. “I am definitely okay with this. Are you?” This time around they were settled and their relationship was solid so why not grow their family a bit more?
