They were still deep in the oban deserts. This time they had an asignment. He had gone into one of the smaller outskirting towns and checked the job board for anything that two beast tamers could take on. Apparently there was a potentially injured Xaraan hanging around that was not in a pack, which was quite abnormal.
He returned to Nin with the news and they packed up to go in pursuit. If it was injured and couldn't hunt then it was more likely to try raiding the town. They were rather scary when they were hungry.

To her active, wild training was just as important as the learning from books portion of beast taming. Nothing quite punched in lessons like experience. And nothing boosted your confidence more. She encouraged all of her kids to experience things.
Life was best lead living, not hiding inside. Though she would admit that she enjoyed book learning, it was comfy sometimes the outside was not but it made up for lack of comfort with adrenaline, self fulfilment and loads of fun.
She inspected the sheet, the paper was different slightly than what she was used to and it amused her.
"I hope we find it before something else does."

Nin had specifically cut time out of her extrodinarily busy schedule to come on this trip with him and he was so grateful.
He could tell that she was enjoying it too, she was smiling and shining out here in the wild trying to help random creatures. He felt like she would even enjoy some beast taming trips, he would have to take her, or maybe one of his two beast taming sons would go with her and also get more experience. Now that would be a fun family trip, maybe he could convince them all to go.
The thought made him smile. Except his Kina was in the north. He knew she needed to find herself and couldn't do it here with the family where she frustrated her siblings and they her. They were growing up and he would just have to adjust.

"Can we tame a healthy one too? I think it would be pretty fun don't you? We don't often get time together alone and well there is no one I would rather learn from than you."
Her husband was super patient and sweet and had retained his sometimes adorably awkward personality that he had had when she had first met him.
He was very very good at what he did. He could read body language like it was common.

Chalk another one up to synchrosity across spouses. He grinned. "We can do whatever you want darling."
It felt so good to be around someone who knew him so well. He was feeling good too being out here in the desert again. Somewhere new. Somewhere old. Somewhere close to his heart.
He loved travel, it was exciting to get to do some now. They picked up the trail of the Xaraan. It led into a canyon with a little stream at the bottom.

She enjoyed working with healthy animals too, she decided as she flung herself onto the back of a healthy Xaraan that had a neat coat patter that they both liked. They were such neat creatures, powerful and fast.
She held on for dear life to the back of the beast clinging to the neck and hoping that she wouldn't loose her grip. Talk about your exciting day at the old office. Her husband really had a cool job.

Kiyelt flung himself onto the other side of the janarim from nin and together they were able to tire it out so that they could wrap the beak and secure the legs with hobbles.
He had put a blindfold on first and now he stayed by the neck and stroked it soothingly. "We are not going to hurt you dear, you will be okay. We are going to make you a part of our family."
He loved taming it made his wild heart sing and it was a dream come true to be able to enjoy the animals with the woman he loved the most.

She was panting and very sweaty by the time they were done. She sort of melted into the dirt with a beautific look on her face. That was such a rush, and so much fun.
"I need to get out more often." She said, her arms were going to hurt tomorrow, and likely the rest of her.

He chuckled at her drama and handed her a canteen. It was nice to see her so free. She held herself together with the kids and the job but with him she just relaxed and let her hidden silly side out. She did play with the kids but she knew how much of a role model a parent was and she wanted the best for them. He had rubbed off on her with consistant play.
"You look a bit haggard love, I shall need to spoil you more. This is your Xaraan. Better think of a name. Hopefully the injured one is nearby but we will walk this boy back to camp.

"Thank you," she took the canteen and downed it. Oba was so freaking hot. She knew it was the desert but this was just morning it was already hot, at least they wouln't have to run they would just have to guide the beast to camp. Then they would head out in the evening to find the other janarim. Even her husband had gotten used to the Matorian climate, she giggled at him.
"Hot?"

He took a finger and pressed it to his thigh and made a hissing sound. "Always."
Then he blasted her with his signature smile and he knew he had her. "Come on Nin, I'll make you a nice cup of coffee we can bath at the oasis and chill in our tent, you can tend your new baby."
He offered her a hand. "Too bad we cant ride yet."

"Make it a pot of coffee and you have a deal." He always knew how to convince her. Unless she was 100% exhausted, then nothing could move her except an emergency. But she wasn't quite that tired yet, the water was helping.
She did not like the heat at all. Usually in Matori there was the ocean somewhat nearby and easy enough to pop in for a swim. Here it was a sea of sand. It was beautiful and harsh and she loved it. But she also loved not sweating out her bodyweight in water before noon.

They made their way back to camp and he prepped everything while she settled the Xaraan in his pen and made sure he had food and water. He could see from the behaviour of the beast that it didn't actually want to hurt them it was just scared of the changes.
Animals could read emotions better than most people could. It was like they felt it.
He set the coffee on the fire and sighed. Life was good.
"Hows he doing?"

She squealed lightly when he brought her her coffee, it was sooo good. "It tastes better than normal." She sipped again. "You got new beans? When did you manage to do that?"
He had been with her all day. "Did you sneak off to the night markets?" She held the coffee close like the desert would swallow her cup.

"I may have snuck out while you were sleeping, but I was fast. Worth it though, this is thay Jauharan mountain blend that we had when we first got married. I thought that it would be a fitting treat for the most beautiful woman in tendaji."
He popped a marshmallow into her coffee. "There now its perfect." He leaned down and kissed her coffee flavored lips. He leaned back and looked into her eyes, then smiled....slowly.
