I have represented my country in poetry, have half a degree in creative writing and I like to write for fun in my spare time 3nodding
I thought it'd be nice to have some writing competitions and challenges for guild writers. Please feel free to enter as many as you like. If you'd like to donate potential prizes that would be very much welcomed.

Poetry Challenge - Colour Wheel
The first poetry challenge will be about colours. Submit a post on this thread with a 1-10 dice roll, and then write a poem inspired by the colour you roll.
Colours
1: Lilac
2: Navy
3. Crimson
4. Jade
5. White
6. Black
7. Grey
8. Pink
9. Sky blue
10. Teal
When the poetry challenge receives at least 3 entries, I will create a deadline for a week later. 3nodding
The poetry competition will close on the 1st July heart
Entrance fee: 500 plat
Prize: The sum of the entrance fees.

Flash Fiction Challenge - 100 words
The first flash fiction challenge is to write any original story that is 100 words or less.
When the flash fiction challenge receives at least 3 entries, I will create a deadline for a week later. 3nodding
Entrance fee: Free!
Prize: Winner receives 10k plat.
Judge: Guild vote

Short story challenge - Dialogue
In the first short story challenge, we will focus on dialogue. At some point in your short story there should be some dialogue that is integral to the plot or otherwise meaningful in some way. The story should be at least 600 words, and no more than 5000 words.
Good, realistic dialogue will be vital for a high place in this competition, with plot and characterisation other important factors. Any genre is acceptable.
When the short story challenge receives at least 3 entries, I will create a deadline for two weeks later. 3nodding
Entrance fee: 1k plat.
Prize: Winner receives 20k plat + total entrance fees.
Judge: If we receive 8 entries or more, a shortlist will be made by myself and the guild may judge between the top 3. Otherwise, I will judge them 3nodding

In this poetry challenge, I'll judge it by
- How much the chosen colour was emphasised
- The mood of the piece
- The overall 'quality' of the poem
- The uniqueness of the poem.
