It had been a few days since Raksha had fought a youma and been dragged into this cosmic war, and… she wasn't sure yet. The youma was terrifying, and it had tried to kill her, but technically it hadn't done anything before she stabbed it, and other than that, she didn't know if the side she had been inducted into on this was- well. As much as Raksha had immediately loved her homeworld, there were a lot of stories about the traditional hero-looking guys actually being the evil faction. It was convenient, then, that when she snuck out, made her way out if the suburbs to Destiny City, and transformed, she felt a presence that exuded deeply Bad and Wrong vibes. Not overly terrifying, but still very uncomfortable. That was… probably what she was looking for. Hopefully they wouldn't see her and assume the worst- Raksha just wanted to talk. No way to know other than to try, though, so Raksha made her way to the roof of the building, then made a beeline for the energy signature.

Fulgurite watched the civilian fall as he tucked away their starseed. There was a part of this job that still felt uncomfortable no matter how many times he had been ordered to do it, and there was a moment where he considered returning the little gem he held to where it belonged, but he felt the edges of an aura nearby that had him rolling his eyes and tucking the starseed away before he was noticed. He hadn't come out here planning on a fight, mostly just planned to collect quota and go home, but he could also use some stress relief. The ice cream venture with his general had helped ease things, but... Whatever. Punch a foolish senshi, go back to what he was doing. He turned toward where he felt the aura approaching -- approaching, of all things, what the ******** were they thinking? -- as started heading toward it, cracking his knuckles as he prepared to continue on their supposed duty of ******** saving humanity. Oftentimes, he felt like his sister was doing a much better job of that.

Fulgurite met Raksha a bit away, out of view of the collapsed civilian. Specifically, she was on a roof looking down at him. Raksha gave him a quick once-over, before nodding.
"Yeah, you look pretty goth, and you have holes in you. Just like Encke said."
Excellent. This guy was the type of person who she was looking for. He looked like he was looking for a fight, but… maybe he would still be willing to talk? If he attacked her, that would say a lot about his side anyway.
Raksha waved. "Hey! Guy with blue hair. Do you have a minute to talk? You're one of the-" She hesitated. She was here on a fact-finding mission, and if they were actually the ones that were helping people, she shouldn't call them corrupted. "Goth senshi, right? The ones that make the weird monsters?"
She paused. Maybe this guy was busy.
"...If you're busy, I can come back later?"

Guy with blue hair. Yeah, that was probably him. He squinted, looking up at her and watching her as she asked, of all things, if he'd be willing to-- " Goth senshi?" his voice hitched in a bit of disbelief. He'd heard corrupted senshi and he'd heard Negaverse senshi, but ******** Goth Senshi was new. He guessed it was more suited to his usual way of dress but, beyond that-- Did she just ask to come back later? "Sure, I'm busy," he tilted his head, crossed his arms, and looked over the senshi he declared, "Mainstream Senshi. I'm on patrol. But my primary mission is to look for people like you, so." He cracked his knuckles. "Did you want to come closer?" It didn't quite sound like he was suggesting conversation.

Raksha studied his reaction carefully. Okay, evidently she was doing something very, very weird. And this guy was still spoiling for a fight, but he also hadn't attacked her yet.
"I mean, yeah? I'd like to talk. I need to make sure this isn't one of those stories where like, the obvious good guys are actually secretly really evil, but I don't really want to get in a fight, and you look like you're looking for one."
Maybe this guy needed something to sweeten the deal. Or prove her intentions, or something. Raksha rocked back on her heels for a second, before getting an idea. She had brought the money for vending machine snacks, but it would be more useful here.
"I'll give you $5 to talk to me instead of getting punchy? Or trying to kill me."

The concept that she was looking to make sure that the so-called obvious good guys weren't actually secretly really evil hit him as a bit naive, and he showed that with a snort of a laugh. There were moments where he questioned, himself, who the obvious good or evil guys were, even if the whole thing was met with some derision at best. He had never really been asked to join. It was arguable that he was working with Team Evil, and he wasn't necessarily sure he cared. "You really think talking to me is gonna help you figure that out?" He quirked a brow, cracking his knuckles once more as he studied her. "You think I'm about to stand here and call myself out as Team Evil McBadGuy?" Wait. Was she seriously offering him... money? It was so absurd as to almost be stunning on its own right, and he paused, blinked, and stared at her with some surprise. It was a moment before he replied with a flat, "You're bribing me," that lifted into an incredulous, " really?" at the tail end of it. It was so ridiculous as to almost be believable. He held out his hand. "Alright, fine, you hand me the money, maybe I don't punch you out."

Raksha looked faintly embarrassed when Fulgurite laughed, and narrowed her eyes at him. "It's important! This is some kind of weird cosmic war thing, I have to make sure I'm not hurting innocent people. It's the right thing to do."
"I was actually looking for the opposite? I was hoping you would tell me what you were trying to do, actually. Also, I don't know. Unleashing giant monsters on children is generally considered a bad thing to do? It's pretty easy to take the position of being against terrorizing children with beasts. I have the advanced moral positioning of being against things that are bad, and in favor of things that are good."
Raksha shrugged. "Maybe you could change my mind, though. I mean, you guys have to have some sort of reason you're ok with doing that. Maybe I'll agree it's worth it."
She jumped off the roof and pulled the $5 bill, handing it to Fulgurite. "Consider it more proof of this being in good-faith… but, yeah, I'm bribing you to give me your elevator pitch. And also not punch me."
"...I'm Raksha, by the way. You?"

It seemed logical at the onset to check to make sure she wasn't fighting for the wrong team, though he wasn't entirely sure why she had opted to check with the theoretical wrong team about that. It sounded like she already had an impression, and to be honest, he did have trouble arguing against the position of Terrorizing Children with Beasts is Bad. It probably was. That was why he usually didn't opt to go for children. When he thought about it, he wasn't sure what made teenagers or adults much different, but it was an inspection best preserved for when a White Moon senshi wasn't doing the absolutely ridiculous thing of actually handing him five ******** dollars. He couldn't believe this. It was definitely new. It was also definitely appealing; that was at least a couple of gas station burritos. He took it and tucked it into his bodice. "Alright, Raksha. You have my attention." He opted to lean his back heavily against the building, hauling his unnecessary hair over his shoulder and crossing his arms over his chest afterward. "You're lucky I'm a recent graduate. ******** college, ya know?" At that, he rolled his eyes. Maybe she didn't know. She looked younger than him, though how much was hard to judge. Probably not that much, when he thought about it. "It's Fulgurite. Ask whatever you got about us Children Terrorizers. Can't promise you'll like the answers."

Raksha narrowed her eyes in mild annoyance at Fulgurite again.
"I don't need to like the answers. I have to do the right thing, all the time, no matter how much it sucks or how terrifying it is." That last part was said with absolute conviction and certainty. Not with any sort of righteousness- just a matter of fact statement that there was no other option for her.
"So like… what's your deal? Why are you fighting us? As far as I can tell, we didn't do anything. Also, what the ******** are you stealing people's life force with monsters for? Whatever you need it for, can't you use a solar battery or whatever instead? Or like. Ask first? Blood donation is a thing. You don't need to do…" Raksha makes a vague gesture. "that, probably."
"...Also, you're another Senshi, right? You have a homeworld. What's it like? Can you still go there?"
Raksha had some more questions, but she figured that was enough for now- she didn't want to overload the guy or make him leave. Then he wouldn't answer any of her questions, and she had already given him the five dollars that she was going to use for vending machine food.

"Suit yourself," he responded, with an air of nonchalance punctuated by a dismissive shrug. The determination to do the right thing reminded him of his sister. It would have been cute if not for the fact that she was filled with a naivete he didn't think his sister possessed. As it was, he was minutely concerned she was going to ask these questions to the wrong person and end up flattened for it, but he supposed that wasn't his responsibility. "We're fighting you because you're invading the Earth and we're here to protect it." Something about the way he said that felt detached as if he didn't even quite believe what he was saying, but Fulgurite pushed on to give her the answers she sought despite. "And to protect the planet properly, we need s**t to reinforce and power that. Energy. Starseeds. Guess you could argue that's the pay for protection." Another shrug. "You think people just gonna give their lives for that? No one's ever just liked being a sacrifice." The homeworld question brought him to pause for a moment. By now, he had heard that the senshi of the White Moon could go to space. It wasn't exactly an unknown, it just was something he had never considered as someone who didn't even know what that name would have been. "Do I? The only name I've ever had is Fulgurite. What I was granted with when I was recruited." He snorted. "Don't even know what homeworld I'd be going to if I could, which I can't, so."

Okay, stealing souls and life force is definitely a thing these guys do. Noted.
"Hm." Invading the earth, huh? That sounded… incorrect. She wasn't an invader, at least, and it seemed exceptionally unlikely Encke or Viatrix was some kind of evil space invader. For one thing, Viatrix was a cat. "Are you sure about that? Where'd you get that information? As far as I've been told, we just ended up here accidentally and what we're supposed to be doing is fixing our homeworlds and protecting people."
Raksha studied Fulgurite carefully. He didn't seem very committed to what he was saying- like he was just going through the motions.
"Do you really believe that, or is that the party line you're toeing because you get something out of it? You can be honest. Whatever you're getting out of it is valuable information too-"
Okay, that one actually baffled Raksha. Fulgurite couldn't go to his homeworld? It… didn't really make sense. Planets were a resource; you could put things on them. Why weren't these guys using them?
"Wait, what? Why not? Did they not tell you how to get there? That seems like a waste of resources. If you want to protect the earth, why not install a bunch of space lasers on planets or whatever. As a defense grid. Or use them as secret labs nobody else can get to."

Where did he get that information? It was strange; he knew both that he felt like it was the truth and felt exceeding dissonance with it. If they were protecting the Earth from invaders, why were they cooperating with aliens? If they were protecting the Earth from invaders, why had he been recruited in the way he had been? "By accident? You're only here because your homeworld is dead, right?" Fulgurite quirked a brow. "Taking up resources from a still-living world, attacking people here, causing problems here. Sounds like you're the invaders, yeah? And we're doing what we can do defeat you?" It was absolutely a deflection away from his own belief. To be honest, he had never really questioned why he couldn't go to a homeworld he had never heard of before, and to be questioned on why they weren't using them for things like space lasers or secret bases both confounded him and seemed like a valid point. Would certainly give them other ways to deal with the senshi and knights if they could go to their playing field. By the same token, did it matter? Their priority was Earth. Always had been. At least, that was the party line. "So far as I know, we don't have a way to get to wherever the ******** my 'homeworld' is. Our source is Earth. It's why we got these mineral names. We have a base on Earth?" If Negaspace was a base, in any case, moreso a kingdom atop of a sea of monsters -- he had no interest in returning to that sea ever again in his life --

Fulgurite was deflecting again. And he didn't answer who told him that. Interesting. So he definitely was just reciting the party line; that was fine. The thing was that the party line was entirely unconvincing, and full of holes. Raksha did her best to not let that show on her face though- that might read as an insult, and she was trying to be good-faith, here. Everything this guy was saying, though, gave the impression that the war was started by one guy seeing a senshi, misunderstanding the situation, and freaking out. Maybe he could still convince her otherwise, though. "Are we? When I suggested we use our worlds for stuff like building telescopes and creating more space in animal shelters the Senshi who gave me these powers thought the idea was pretty rad. And c'mon, you can't tell me you don't think the idea of space colonization without all those expensive rockets is cool. Or just mining up there without destroying the environment of the Earth." "The way I see it, is that senshi are an opportunity for the advancement of Earth, and based on what the other senshi told me, one Earth isn't using because we're afraid you'll hurt our worlds worse." "Oh, one sec." Raksha pulled out her senshi phone and showed it to Fulgurite, though she kept it out of his reach. "The cat who awakened me gave me this. It's a phone? All I have to do is press the home button here and concentrate real hard. I went there a couple days ago and I don't think I can do it again, but- It's that easy."

It was best that she kept her opinion on how flimsy the party line seemed to herself; there was a part of him that was high strung and it displayed in the way he shifted on the wall as she watched him, seemingly concerned with what she was going to say next. "Could also just leave to free up some resources," was Fulgurite's suggestion, though it was interesting to hear from a senshi whose apparent goal was a sort of cooperative relationship with Earth. It railed against what he was told of the Negaverse's mission. Why would they be working to kill those who were cooperating? What was the purpose? He shouldn't have been surprised that the stories conflicted, really, and every time he reflected on the illogic of the Negaverse's actions, he considered the intimidation of his own recruitment. "And who is to say your White Moon fellows beside for that guy would agree with you?" The display of White Moon Mauvian technology, though, was a distraction that he launched onto, and he observed her phone and tried to collect some information about it because if he was considering joining General Sylvite's division, collecting information was one of the things he was supposed to be doing. So they could just go back to their homeworld by pressing a button on their phone. Could their Mauvians rig something similar? Maybe a button that could be useful for lieutenants to get back to the Negaverse on their own on the tablets... Maybe if he suggested some ideas, they'd just leave him alone. "You can't go there whenever you wish?" Fulgurite snorted. "Then how can you monitor or do any of these fancy projects you wanna do? I can just go to our home base whenever I want. Could right now."

"I don't really want to do that? I was born here, and it's not like this is a zero-sum game. There's plenty of space on Earth for everyone." Raksha shrugged. "I mean, it's not really my problem if they don't agree with me? It's not like I signed a contract or anything, and there doesn't seem to be any real formal structure? At most it's like, a group of guys whose goals generally align. They can't fine or kill me. They're not the government. I certainly didn't elect them. " "If they don't want people building telescopes or mines on my world they can bite me. Actually, I'll bite them." When Fulgurite laughs at her, though- okay, clearly this guy had not read or watched anything on the reality of space colonization. Raksha was actually kind of offended. "Hey! Look, it takes 26 months to send anything to Mars, with deadly space radiation as a problem, and I'm pretty sure you can go more often as you get more powerful? I think. In Antarctic science bases you have to go the whole winter without resupply. It would be hard, but it could be done! And you can even breathe, and gravity feels the same. So your bones won't decay." "...That is pretty cool, though. It would be nice if I could go to my homeworld all the time- last time I went I just kinda hung out, listened to music and ate pancakes I made on a camping grill. It's nice. Nobody bothers you."
