Zane was born to Razoul the caption of the guards of Agrabah. His mother had died when he was little and was raised by his father training him up in the ways of the swordsmen of the castle.
He had told him plenty of stories of the original story of the kingdom of Agrabah with the sultan and his princess that ended up falling in love with someone who claimed to be evil. But those were all just stories and tales of the past king and queen Jafar and Jasmine. There was talk of evil blue genies that tried to break the couple up that ‘loved’ each other so much. So he grew up learning the tales that everyone else in the kingdom heard and believed them all to be true.
By the time Zane was seven he had ended up getting his own place in the guards even though he was young he was trained better than some of the older swordsmen that were in the guard. Each member of the guard had been given a magical object that connected to their spirits. The powers choose them that had been given to them by Jafar. They had magical swords and a little magical lamp that could heal them. His elemete was fire. He was able to control the fire through his sword and easily mastered the arts of it and had been given the rest of his magic to help with keeping the kingdom safe.
Over time Jafar had ended up vanishing and his son had ended up taking over as king and by the time Zane had ended up being fifteen he had taken over his fathers place as the captain of the guard.
He became close with the sultan and knew some of his own deep dark secrets that he didn’t tell anyone else. He was even offered the position of the royal Vizier but turned it down since he liked the fighting and protecting the kingdom a bit more than standing inside the castle makingdecisions.
