Prompt 1 (Mysterious Carolers): Caroling has been a tradition for years, so it’s not really unusual when you hear a soft chorus from outside. What is unusual is that it’s three in the morning, and the moment they start singing you feel a chill in the air. Maybe it’s a holiday song, maybe it’s not, but whatever it is it’s a song you know before--from this life? From another?--and something about this version makes you go cold. If you move to the window, you will find no carolers, but the song is loud enough that you know you should be able to see them. They sing one song, and then there is silence. An eerie chill lingers, and your dreams are haunted by strange voices. You’ll probably never be able to hear that song again without feeling a chill.

Seeing the snow and feeling it in the palm of his hand. This feeling just brought up memories, Hyuk wasn't sure if he wanted to remember it or not. Now where he used to live he celebrated it differently. Since it wasn't that important of a holiday where he lived. He still remembered having the day off to spend with family and friends. Work was suspended and it was a time to relax at home.
As he thought about the past, he walked around outside. Now it was about 3 am and the streets were void of humans other than him. He just couldn't sleep, since tonight he really missed home. He knew coming to a new place would be difficult but no one let him know how difficult it would really be. To give up everything and come here. Well it really still felt like a bad dream, he always hoped it was, but in the end, he knew it was reality now. He missed the music he used to create and the joy he used to bring.
With his head in the clouds, he suddenly heard what sounded like music? BUt how could that be it was three in the morning and no normal person should be asleep at that time. Especially not carols who as he had learned caroled at night to bring joy to those whose doorsteps they visited.
He followed the loud sound around the corner, the words began to echo louder.
"Hark how the bells
Sweet silver bells
All seem to say
Throw cares away"
He could hear the words clear as day but no one was there. He knew he couldn't be dreaming since it rang through his ears like the chill of the night.
He had never heard this song before now, but yet it sounded so familiar as if he knew it. How could that be possible though if he had never spoken those words before? He suddenly felt a chill down his spine as the music just stopped. No movement around and no melody to be heard. Just darkness and cold surrounded him on the street. He shivered and just wanted to get home and hear anything other than those lyrics.
"I think I should go home," he said under his breath as he turned to head back to his house. Maybe he was hearing things, but maybe he wasn't. Either way that music was evil, and he swore to himself that he would never listen to it again. He didn't care if it was Christmas or not, some songs just are not meant for certain people to hear. Since songs always have meanings no matter what life you heard them in. It is always better not to mess with darkness no matter what form it takes.
As he finally reached his house, he unlocked the door, stepped inside, and headed to the room. He quickly got dressed for bed and turned in. His eyes were still awake since he couldn't seem to get that song from his head. PArt of him wondered if he ever would, as he laid there trying to drift to sleep and forget the encounter.
